The GATOR mine system is a US system of air-dropped anti-tank and anti-personnel mines, that was developed in the 1980s to be compatible with existing cluster dispensers. It is used with two dispenser systems - the Navy 500 lb CBU-78/B and the Air Force 1,000 lb CBU-89/B. Additionally the mines are used with the land and helicopter based Volcano mine system. The mines self-destruct after a preset period of 4 hours, 15 hours or 15 days. Any that do not will be rendered disabled after 40 days when the batteries expire. FASCAM presents an array of air and FA-delivered scatterable mines available to maneuver force commanders. Scatterable mine systems enable the tactical commanders to emplace minefields in enemy held terrain, contaminated territory, or in others areas where it is not possible to emplace conventional minefields. They are designed to be delivered or dispensed remotely by aircraft, artillery, or by ground dispenser. Minefields are laid without a clear pattern. All FASCAM mines have a active life cycle and self-destruct (SD) time after their active life has expired. The duration of the active life varies from 4 hours to 15 days depending on the system. FASCAM minefields are planned by the commander's staff engineer in concert with the commander's intent and systems availible. The staff engineer determines location, size, time and density of the minefields. He coordinates with appropriate staff officers to ensure systems are available at the time and location for placement

GATOR mine system
The GATOR mine system is a US system of air-dropped anti-tank and anti-personnel mines developed in the 1980s to be compatible with existing cluster dispensers. It is used with two dispenser systems—the Navy 230 kg (500 lb) CBU-78/B and the Air Force 450 kg (1,000 lb) CBU-89/B. Additionally the mines are used with the land- and helicopter-based Volcano mine system.
In use the bombs are dropped from aircraft flying at speeds between 370 and 1,300 km/h (200 and 700 kn), and at altitudes of between 100 and 1,200 meters. An FMU-140/B fuze controls the opening of the dispenser at one of 10 predetermined altitudes between 90 m and 900 m using a doppler ranging radar or alternatively a 1.2 second time fuse. Mine arming begins when the dispenser opens with the activation of the mines' vanadium pentoxide batteries. The circular mines have a rectangular plastic "aeroballistic" adaptor. Once the mines reach the ground they arm in between 1.2 and 10 seconds.
The mines self-destruct after a preset time which can be set to 4 hours, 15 hours or 15 days. Any that do not will become disabled after 40 days when the batteries discharge fully. The self-destruct time is set just prior to aircraft takeoff using a simple selector switch on the dispenser. During the Gulf War the dud rate for this system was significant, in one of seven Kuwati battlefield sectors there were 205 BLU-91 and 841 BLU-92 duds. Given that 89,235 BLU-91 and 27,535 BLU-92 mines were used during the Gulf War, this represents a dud rate of somewhere between 0.5 to 2% for the BLU-91 and to 6 to 21% for the BLU-92 . Additionally, CMS mine field clearing personnel reported dud GATOR mines detonating with no apparent triggering event, and speculated that the extreme heat of the Kuwait desert may have triggered detonation.

During the Gulf War the dud rate for this system was significant, in one of seven Kuwati battlefield sectors there were 205 BLU-91 and 841 BLU-92 duds. Given that 89,235 BLU-91 and 27,535 BLU-92 mines were used during the Gulf War, this represents a dud rate of somewhere between 0.5 to 2% for the BLU-91 and to 6 to 21% for the BLU-92 [1]. Additionally, CMS[clarification needed] mine field clearing personnel reported dud GATOR mines detonating with no apparent triggering event, and speculated that the extreme heat of the Kuwait desert may have triggered detonation.
The GATOR system provides a means to emplace minefields on the ground rapidly using high-speed tactical aircraft. A typical GATOR minefield is 650 m long and 200 m wide and contains 432 anti-tank mines and 132 anti-personnel mines. The minefields are used for area denial, diversion of moving ground forces, or to immobilize targets to supplement other direct attack weapons. In the 1991 Gulf War the US Air Force employed 1,105 CBU-89s. One reported task was to hamper the movements of Iraqi Scud missile launchers.

My second stint in the #33 "We are not really from Iran" Ford Festiva at the 24 Hours of LeMons Gator-O-Rama in 2013 at MSR Houston, starting at 3:53am and going until I ran out of gas a little after 5am. Racing in the night was incredibly fun, especially after getting accustomed to finding braking points and apexes in the dark. There were a lot of exciting moments, especially dealing with other drivers that were disoriented in the dark. Since nightfall was less than 5 hours into the race, many drivers encountered the course for the first time at night.

0:01:53 - Realized not all the lights were on & turn on the brights.
0:03:22 - Emergency vehicles towing a car back on track.
0:14:00 - #142 Mostly Harmless Racing Mercury Capri passes on the outside at the Keyhole as we catch the #13 Escape Velocity Racing Dodge Dart going wide.
0:15:00 - Catch the #116 Hoodfellas Isuzu Impulse at a local yellow and begin a long back-and-forth battle. Their car is faster than mine, but I'm more confident in the dark.
0:16:30 - Pass the Impulse under braking at the Keyhole.
0:19:50 - Impulse overtakes me under braking and we go side-by-side through turn 1.
0:23:06 - Someone spins in front of a pack of cars, bunching them up. I get a jump on the pack at the end of the local yellow, putting myself in the middle for some tight side-by-side racing through the next few corners.
0:31:20 - Forget to brake for the carousel, the car wiggles a bit entering the corner much faster than usual, but sticks (proving I could be going much faster through this section of the track).
0:31:50 - Catch the #93 Braking Bad Festiva. We duel for the next few laps.
0:39:00 - The #181 Team Sheen Acura Integra is slow coming out of turn 1. I pull alongside just as we approach a local yellow. We both hit the brakes but are still side-by-side as we pass a backwards car that had spun out on track.
0:42:20 - The Team Sheen Integra gets squeezed going onto the back straight by the #32 Team Shocker Integra
0:43:35 - Start turning laps under 2:20.
0:49:24 - Lightning flashes from a storm in the distance.
0:54:50 - Catch the #101 Straight Six Pack Racing Toyota Supra, another faster car struggling to find the fastest line in the dark. It chases me for a couple laps...
0:59:21 - #101 Supra passes on the inside of the Carousel, beginning a back-and-forth battle that goes for a while.
1:04:10 - Start of my fastest nighttime lap. Turned a 2:14.165 while dealing with traffic in several corners.
1:07:20 - Have to go on the curb to avoid the #986 Tetanus Racing Porsche 944. I don't they saw me coming.
1:08:17 - #101 Supra gets by and stays ahead for good.
1:11:29 - First engine hiccups from low fuel under hard cornering or bumps. I stay off the gas and ease it around to the pits in high gear.
1:14:19 - I get to the pits, but... where's my pit crew??? They were supposed to be there 20 minutes before scheduled end of stint, but I have no idea how long I've been out. I decide to make another slow lap but immediately regret it as the engine struggles to get fuel even in high gear in a straight line. I nurse it around, trying not to block traffic and hoping that I don't run out of fuel in the dark.
1:17:00 - The car sounds like a moose in heat as it tries to suck up the last drops of gas in the tank. I'm praying I can just make it around the last two corners. I have the pedal to the floor in 5th gear. Finally on pit row it finds enough gas for one last push. I completely run out immediately after parking in our pit stall.
(not on video) The team showed up less than a minute later. I was supposed to run for 1 hour 45 minutes, but as the team later discovered, there was a slow leak in the fuel system that worsened over time and made each stint successively shorter. We did have a kitchen timer in the car, but I couldn't see it at night. I'd only been on track for less than 1 hour 25 minutes, so I didn't make it nearly to the expected time. We didn't have a radio.
The car was extensively modified, most notably with a Mazda BP engine swap, massive brakes, and improved suspension. At this race, the car debuted fabulous new body work by Darren Besic and won the Organizer's Choice award. Our final result was 30th place overall, 7th in class B.

I nurse it around, trying not to block traffic and hoping that I don't run out of fuel in the dark.
1:17:00 - The car sounds like a moose in heat as it tries to suck up the last drops of gas in the tank. I'm praying I can just make it around the last two corners. I have the pedal to the floor in 5th gear. Finally on pit row it finds enough gas for one last push. I completely run out immediately after parking in our pit stall.
(not on video) The team showed up less than a minute later. I was supposed to run for 1 hour 45 minutes, but as the team later discovered, there was a slow leak in the fuel system that worsened over time and made each stint successively shorter. We did have a kitchen timer in the car, but I couldn't see it at night. I'd only been on track for less than 1 hour 25 minutes, so I didn't make it nearly to the expected time. We didn't have a radio.
The car was extensively modified, most notably with a Mazda BP engine swap, massive brakes, and improved suspension. At this race, the car debuted fabulous new body work by Darren Besic and won the Organizer's Choice award. Our final result was 30th place overall, 7th in class B.

MAIN GAME FEATURES
SPACE AND PLANET EXPLORATION:
An absolute free-roaming experience awaits you: fly across space, land on planets and freely walk around. Imagine that you are orbiting a planet and see a mountain on the surface. In Empyrion, you can actually descend on the planet and land on the mountain. Then you can get off your ship and freely explore your surroundings. Likewise, if you walk around on the planet and see a moon on the horizon, you can take your spaceship and fly to this moon and land on it.
SURVIVAL:
Try to stay alive in a hostile galaxy. Each planet has its own characteristics and potentially unforgiving conditions. To survive, you have to adapt to a planet’s unique environment. For example, you will discover alien planets with harmful cosmic radiation or acid rain as well as planets with an enormous gravity that sticks you to the ground. The game also simulates different climates and weather conditions.
BUILDING AND CONSTRUCTION:
You can build everything out of blocks and building parts like in Minecraft: large motherships, small spaceships, space and planetary stations, and facilities such as mining robots and solar panels.
SPACE AND LAND COMBATS:
Empyrion features a variety of enemies reaching from wild creatures living on planets to intelligent alien races that can attack you everywhere. Be proactive because it can be highly rewarding to attack and loot a pirate space station. Perhaps you will find a blueprint for an advanced alien weapon technology?
SINGLE AND MULTIPLAYER:
Besides single player mode, Empyrion let’s you play multiplayer. For example, you can team up with your friends to play cooperatively: Invite them to join you on your mothership to operate the turrets while you pilot the ship. You can also form a wolf pack with several spaceships and attack pirate space stations or other enemies. Besides co-operative gameplay, you are also able to fight against each other in PvP.
HUGE GALAXY AND OPEN WORLD:
The galaxy is procedurally generated and features hundreds of different solar systems. Each solar system contains several planets with their own characteristics (planet type, gravity, atmosphere, number of moons, terrain, surface, vegetation, climate, and resources). Initially, you face an uncharted universe with only basic information about the planets, their resources, and life forms.
MINING AND RESOURCE GATHERING:
To obtain your building blocks, you must gather and mine resources that you find on planets and asteroids. Empyrion features different planet types such as desert, ice, lava, barren, oceanic, temperate, and gas planets, each with its specific resources.To successfully gather and mine resources you must adapt to a planet’s unique environment and geography.
SIMULATION OF PHYSICS:
Empyrion simulates maneuverability, electricity, airflow, gravity, damage, construction solidity, and much more. In addition, your ships and stations use generators to produce electricity and every device consumes energy from the power grid. For Portable use both in house and if needed emergency, field day, etc. I plan to use the anderson strip to power my Elecraft KX3 when it arrives to! Will attached KX3 with a bit of velcro or once I get KX3 will see if another way. I have room over my 857 or will change 2 meter mobile to a smaller one(I have a FT-1500 which is smaller)

As far as mounting, I used #6 screws, bolts and washers. The screws and bolts can be purchased at lowes or home depot in quanity of 100 (they contain both screws and bolts), washers are separate. I also bought some small L brackets, both 1 " x 1" and 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" however only use it with the MFJ power supply. P.S. I turned the L brackets inward so it would look better. It made it a little harder to tighten but looks much better. I was able to take off 2 of the screws of the case and use the L bracket to attach to the shelf. I would be careful as the what shelves you purchase because some are way to expensive, some are solid(heavy and you would have to drill holes, unless you plan to use all velcro) I found mine on ebay for $19.99 including shipping. I did use velcro for my LDG YT-100 tuner because the L brackets would not line up and it was so light.
I decided on the pro 8 u case and the best price I could find was.....the case has a card enclosed to send off for free($10 shipping)rear rack. Be sure to include a note you need the right side bracket cut at the bottom 45 degrees because if not, it will hit the wheel well and not fit.

For 2 meters I decided on the Yaesu FT-2900 because it was reasonably priced and has high power of 75 watts.
For the DC power I used a Powerwerx 6 way which is much less than the rig runner but smaller and works the same(except no fuses) but fuses in the radio cords are fine for protection.

This was normally $118.80 but he discounted it for me to $75.
I found the ground bus at Lowes and it was under $7. The screws lined up in the rear rack which made it convenient and out of the way.

This is both part 1 & 2 of explaining how I constructed my Ham Radio "To Go" box so KEEP WATCHING AFTER it says THE END. For Portable use both in house and if needed emergency, field day, etc. I plan to use the anderson strip to power my Elecraft KX3 when it arrives to! Will attached KX3 with a bit of velcro or once I get KX3 will see if another way. I have room over my 857 or will change 2 meter mobile to a smaller one(I have a FT-1500 which is smaller)

As far as mounting, I used #6 screws, bolts and washers. The screws and bolts can be purchased at lowes or home depot in quanity of 100 (they contain both screws and bolts), washers are separate. I also bought some small L brackets, both 1 " x 1" and 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" however only use it with the MFJ power supply. P.S. I turned the L brackets inward so it would look better. It made it a little harder to tighten but looks much better. I was able to take off 2 of the screws of the case and use the L bracket to attach to the shelf. I would be careful as the what shelves you purchase because some are way to expensive, some are solid(heavy and you would have to drill holes, unless you plan to use all velcro) I found mine on ebay for $19.99 including shipping. I did use velcro for my LDG YT-100 tuner because the L brackets would not line up and it was so light.
I decided on the pro 8 u case and the best price I could find was.....the case has a card enclosed to send off for free($10 shipping)rear rack. Be sure to include a note you need the right side bracket cut at the bottom 45 degrees because if not, it will hit the wheel well and not fit.

I used a Yaesu FT-857 and Yaesu speaker however for the 2 meter rig I used a motorola speaker which has great quality and here is a link.

For 2 meters I decided on the Yaesu FT-2900 because it was reasonably priced and has high power of 75 watts.
For the DC power I used a Powerwerx 6 way which is much less than the rig runner but smaller and works the same(except no fuses) but fuses in the radio cords are fine for protection.

and a set of 25 anderson power poles-less to buy larger quanity and I figured I would have them for my home station and other uses for a long time.

At this time I do not have a battery however plan to add one with the Western Mountain powergate

This will allow running on A/C(mfj power supply), charge battery and will automatically switch over if lose AC power.

Be careful to ONLY get 14” deep drawer if you have Gator Case with wheels as the drawer will hit the wheel well if the drawer is any deeper.
