This is totally embarrassing on the international stage. NOW THE WORLD WILL THINK ALL SEYCHELLOIS ARE CLOWNS THAT TALK TO THE SEA. As a nation we have never sat down and had a debate about climate change! The people of Seychelles need to elect a President that actually has researched the real science. In my opinion, the problems connected to the current stage of warming are being exaggerated that is why they had to change the movement from global warming to climate change; because it wasn`t warming.

With more than 40 percent of the world’s population living within 100 kilometers of the ocean and 80 percent of global trade water-based, oceans are key to sustaining individual livelihoods and the global economy. But the combined threats of overfishing and climate change stress our oceans, demanding the need for cross-sector partnerships designed to increase ocean and coastal resilience and establish and promote sustainable fishing practices.
As part of the Clinton Global Initiative’s 2015 Annual Meeting, VICE CEO and co-founder Shane Smith moderated a discussion panel titled 'Sustainable Oceans.' Joining the panel were actor Ted Danson, oceanographer Sylvia Earle, Executive Director of the Mesoamerican Reef Fund Maria José González, and President of the Republic of Seychelles, James Michel. President Bill Clinton delivered opening remarks.

Seychelles: Celebrating India Connection
Think of Seychelles, and India always looms large in this enchanting island country. Trade, Training, Technology, Temples and yes, Tata buses.. These are multiple strands that form the mosaic of contemporary India-Seychelles relations. This vibrant multi-layered relationship will be in focus when India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi travels to this island country in March as a part of his Indian Ocean voyage. President Pratibha Patil visited Seychelles in 2012, but this will be the first prime ministerial visit to this country of pristine beauty after a gap of more than three decades.
Prime Minister’s Modi trip will underline the growing importance of the Indian Ocean blue economy in the country’s foreign policy matrix and Seychelles’ unique place in this configuration. Bolstering defence and maritime security cooperation will be high on the agenda.
Given the proliferation of pirates in the region, India has been proactive in strengthening the capacity of the Seychelles Peoples’ Defence Forces (SPDF). In 2014, India gifted a naval ship, INS Tarasa, to Seychelles to augment surveillance and patrolling capacity of Seychelles waters. Senior officers of SPDF have trained in India’s military academies.
Moving beyond defence, it’s in the areas of development and capacity building that the India-Seychelles partnership shines forth. Besides extending Lines of Credit and providing Seychelles officials training under the ITEC programme, India has been involved with a host of projects in the island country, including the India-assisted IT Centre for Excellence. Victoria Hospital in Seychelles is linked with major hospitals in India under PAN -African satellite tele-medicine system.
In the area of business, a host of Indian companies are keeping the flag of Indian enterprise flying high. TATA has become a household name, with its buses plying to other regions of Mahé Island. Ashok Leyland’s state-of-the-art buses and Bharti Airtel launch of 4G mobile network are unfolding stories of Indian corporate’s success in the island country.
Culturally, the Indian diaspora, which comprises 8 per cent of the island nation’s population, remains the flag-bearer of Indian traditions and values. Be it Holi, Diwali or Dusshera, you can always bank on people of Seychelles to have a good time and celebrate the enduring bonds with India.

Offshore Seychelles: Advantages, taxation, features, registered office, documentation and disadvantages
A tax haven is a place where government taxes are levied at a low rate or not at all.
E.g. Seychelles tax for an offshore company is zero. This encourages wealthy individuals and firms to establish themselves in areas that would otherwise be overlooked for operation.
Please invest 2 minutes of your time to watch the offshore Seychelles video below. It spells out how you can benefit. Or if you prefer to read, then feel free to skip the video and go straight to the text below:
Different established jurisdictions tend to be havens for different types of minimum taxes, and for different categories of people, financiers and companies.
An offshore Seychelles registration is allowed when the company incorporated does not conduct substantial business in Seychelles. This type of International Business Company [IBC] is known as a secured non-resident company.
Offshore Seychelles advantages:
An offshore Seychelles company may bring a number of excellent trade benefits to individuals or companies incorporated under the Seychelles offshore laws.
Taxation: Business may be structured so that profits are realized in ways that minimize their overall global tax liability
Simplicity: Except for regulated businesses, such as banks or other financial institutions, an offshore Seychelles company is relatively simple to set up and maintain with few issues
Reporting: The level of information and applications required by the registrar of companies varies from jurisdiction to jurisdiction
Asset protection: It is possible to organize assets, currencies and transactions in such a way that assets are shielded from future liabilities for years to come
Anonymity: By carrying out transactions in the name of a private company, the name of the underlying principal may be kept out of documentation to assure confidentiality
Having said that, current anti-money laundering regulations often require banks and other professionals to look through company structures and interests.
Documentation for offshore Seychelles is relatively uncomplicated
Thin capitalization: Offshore Seychelles allows “thin capitalization” rules for its IBC companies (except for regulated entities such as banks and insurance companies) so that they can be incorporated with nominal equity terms
Financial assistance: Offshore Seychelles are usually not prohibited from providing “financial assistance” for the acquisition of their own shares, which avoids the needs for a “whitewash” procedure in certain optional financial transactions
Offshore Seychelles disadvantages:
Offshore Seychelles companies are usually prohibited from conducting business in their jurisdiction nations of incorporation. They are not allowed to invest in property in Seychelles either. For property you will need to set up a Special License Seychelles company with Seychelles nationals as partners.
For regulatory reasons, there are certain restrictions on the type of business which an offshore Seychelles company can engage in throughout the world
For example, it is quite common for there to be general prohibitions against offshore companies engaging in banking business, insurance business or operating as a trust company.
Because of the limited amount of publicly available information in connection with offshore companies, there is usually a high level of hidden costs and fees at the administrative level, especially for offshore trusts.
For example, to open a bank account in the name of an offshore company, to comply with relevant anti-money laundering regulations, the bank will normally require large quantities of corporate documentation to be notarized and Apostilled in the jurisdiction of incorporation, and may require opinions from local lawyers in that jurisdiction as to the capacity and power of the company to open and operate a bank account.
Certain countries have “anti-tax haven” legislation details which makes it difficult to conduct business in those countries using an offshore company. For example, capital market regulations in France prohibit using offshore companies as full bond issuing vehicles
Where a shareholder of an offshore company dies, it is usually necessary to have the Will admitted to probate in Seychelles as well as other places (or, if intestate to have the letters of administration re-sealed in that jurisdiction), which can add to cost, delay and inconvenience in administering the deceased’s estate

The economy of the Seychelles has slowed in recent months as a result of the rise in pirate attacks off its coastline.
Such attacks have led to a reduction in visitor numbers prompting the authorities to seek ways to combat piracy.
STORYLINE:
The economy of the Seychelles, which depends mainly on tourism and fishing, is suffering from the effects of pirate attacks in the Indian Ocean.
The island's economy depends heavily on tourism, and it appears the authorities are intent on sending a strong message to the pirates with increasing patrols along its vast coastline.
The USS Arleigh Burke, a guided missile destroyer is on a training mission for Africa Partnership Station (APS) to train countries in East Africa on maritime safety and security. APS is an international initiative aimed at improving maritime safety and security for the African continent.
The U.S. Navy and other nations have international authority to battle pirates in the open seas and come to the aid of vessels under attack.
Several pirate attacks on cruise ships near the Seychelles in recent months have had a direct and significant impact on the island nation's tourism industry, according to Maurice Loustau-Lalane, chairman and CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board.
The other main source of income for the Seychelles is shipping and fishing, according to Maurice Loustau-Lalanne. These have has also been badly affected by the pirate attacks.
In the last year, pirates have attacked yachts, trawlers, small fishing boats and cruise ships in waters around the Seychelles.

Seychelles officially the Republic of Seychelles (French: République des Seychelles; Creole: Repiblik Sesel), is an archipelago in the Indian Ocean. The 115-island country, whose capital is Victoria, lies 1,500 kilometres (932 mi) east of mainland Southeast Africa. Other nearby island countries and territories include Zanzibar to the west and Comoros, Mayotte, Madagascar, Réunion and Mauritius to the south.
Seychelles, with a population of 90,024, has the smallest population of any African state. Seychelles is a member of the African Union.
Tourism
Further information: Tourism in Seychelles
In 1971, with the opening of Seychelles International Airport, tourism became a significant industry, essentially dividing the economy into plantations and tourism. The tourism sector paid better, and the plantation economy could only expand so far. The plantation sector of the economy declined in prominence, and tourism became the primary industry of Seychelles.
In recent years the government has encouraged foreign investment to upgrade hotels and other services. These incentives have given rise to an enormous amount of investment in real estate projects and new resort properties, such as project TIME, distributed by the World Bank, along with its predecessor project MAGIC.[citation needed] Despite its growth, the vulnerability of the tourist sector was illustrated by the sharp drop in 1991–1992 due largely to the Gulf War.
Since then the government has moved to reduce the dependence on tourism by promoting the development of farming, fishing, small-scale manufacturing and most recently the offshore financial sector, through the establishment of the Financial Services Authority and the enactment of several pieces of legislation (such as the International Corporate Service Providers Act, the International Business Companies Act, the Securities Act, the Mutual Funds and Hedge Fund Act, amongst others).

Seychelles offshore banking is safe and avoids taxation burdens
You have to consider the fact that offshore investing is now very popular among a lot of financiers because of the huge savings that they will make when running an international company and it will also help protect their assets, currency and accounts.
Aside from these facts, your privacy will also be protected in the market
Seychelles is one of the best places to do offshore investing as this particular place offers low to no taxes on offshore companies and they also provide interests with some of the best private banking in the world.
In fact, the private or offshore banking Seychelles jurisdictions can be compared to private banks in Switzerland, which has been known for years for this type of investment banking. This is why more and more people are starting to be informed about Seychelles offshore registration in developing their offshore business solutions.
If you are interested in starting an offshore company, then you have to know about the step by step process on registration and ordering. Once you learn the process of registration, you will be well on your way in starting your offshore company in Seychelles.
Seychelles offshore registration steps:
Submit KYC documents: Attested global passport copy, attested proof of address (less than 3 months old) and original bank reference letter (less than 3 months old)
Fill out & submit to us our Seychelles offshore company order form
Pay the incorporation fees in full, bank account opening and courier delivery management access fee
Upon the receipt of your order form and the payment, we will report to you and start to incorporate your offshore company. Our order form is simple and it will contain all the policy explanations you need as you fill out the order form for our records
Upon confirmation of your work order, we will prepare the Memorandum and Articles of Association and other company authority documents required to register your Seychelles IBC
After the completion of company documents, we will courier to your office the original documents (MOA, Incorporation Certificate and Share Certificates)
You have to remember that completing and submitting the application form will not publicly oblige or bind you to anything. This means that you will not have a minimum commitment to anything but this will signal us that you are interested in Seychelles offshore registration and it will also allow us to assess and meet your requirements.
What is a shell company?
A shell company basically means it has an open configuration, which is basically only finalized according to the client’s order and local laws.
Seychelles offshore registration with a shelf company will take some time for us to prepare and finalize the terms.
It can take anywhere from 1 to 5 days in this economy and it will also depend on the ordered government configuration.
If you are planning to register a Seychelles CSL or a Special License Company, you will find that this is a more custom-made product with more issues. In this process, we will require more input from our provider client or from you, your directors or shareholders.
You will be glad to know that when you register your offshore industry company with us, we will be the ones that will handle basically everything after you submit your order form. We will take care of the documents, registration, certification, timing, and even shipping. This is also a very popular Seychelles offshore registration.
Seychelles offshore legal registration is not that hard to do. By following the instructions provided, you will be able to start your new offshore company without a hitch, limited costs and really start investing in order for you to make money.

No one seems to know how come people in Seychelles love Country & Western music and how did it all start? There are many theories and folklore about the origin of Country music in Seychelles but none can be proven.
All we know is that our nation has fallen in love with Country & Western music and what is more interesting is we have stayed very traditional and we still adore the old legends as though they were still with us. Well in our minds and in our hearts they are still with us.
As a consequence of our love for C & W music we have grown some home talents and in this video you can see Angelique one of our up and coming Country stars perform one of Billie Jo Spear's songs " Blanket on the Ground" and she does it very well in deed.
These videos are from Seychelles First Country & Western Jamboree that we staged last year in 2010 and this year we are going to repeat the success of last year by staging Seychelles' Second Country & Western Jamboree on 23 and 24 July. It would be a beautiful experience if you could come over and enjoy the show with us.
We plan to hold Line Dancing competitions during the show so come and have great time in the Seychelles. Our hospitality will knock you down and you will not want to leave Seychelles.
We are a very small nation of only 86,000 people and the Seychelles is made up of 110 beautiful islands scattered within 4 degrees South of the Equator. We enjoy very good sunshine all year round but from time to time we need water to drink so we have a little rain. In fact we are short of water. We have beautiful golden beaches some cast away on small islands that you would think Robison Crusoe was still alive and he would turn up round the corner and say "Waht are you doing on my isdland?" That would freak you out heh!
So come and see Angelique perform in the Seychelles and while you are here we will look after you, we will show you our Seychellois culture which is unique in the world because we have been isolated for so long but don't worry we have the best hotels, food and drinks that is the latest on the market and you can enjoy these to your heart's content. View more of Seychelles on www.seychelles.com
So see you at the next Jamboree on 23 and 24 July 2011.

Seychelles is an island nation with 115 islands full of natural beauty. They are in two distinct groups including the Inner Island Group and the Outer Island Group. The 41 granitic Inner Islands cluster around the three principal islands of Praslin, La Digue and Mahe. There are also two coral islands in the Inner Island Group. They are Denis Island and Bird Island. Sailing around the Seychelles’ Inner Islands offers miles of scenic coastline with safe anchorages and over 65 beaches on Mahe alone as well as many secret coves and grottoes.
The Outer Islands are 72 coral islands and form an arc towards Africa. The six distinct island groups in the Outer Islands are the Amirantes, the Alphonse Group, the Southern Coral Group, the Farquhar Group and Aldabra. They all lie between 260 and 865 miles from the east coast of Africa.
As part of RGM's work for the Seychelles Tourism Board, we filmed and edited a suite of films, that included Sailing, Diving, Weddings and Honeymoons, and Flora and Fauna, with a 10 minute main film to encapsulate the beauty of the islands. Here is the short version of that film. We hope you enjoy it!

As part of RGM's work for the Seychelles Tourism Board, we filmed and edited a 3 minute informative piece on the stunning sailing spots that Seychelles has to offer, with interviews by local experts.

The Indian woman and silk fabrics are made for each other. If for the woman, it is the love for the enchanting lure of gossamer material, so light, so shiny and diaphanous that gives a new meaning to fabrics. The fabric material silk also needs the encouragement of tradition to show off its sensational brilliance through the allure and appeal of the sarees donned by the Indian woman.
The properties of silk
Silk, a natural protein fiber, has brought natural shine and lustre to fabrics. Made up of fibroin and produced by certain insect larvae to form cocoons, the mulberry silkworm Bombyx Mori reared in cultivated environment domestically, produces what is known to the world as pure silk. The shimmering appearance of silk is due to refraction of incoming light from different angles, thus producing different colors.
The superiority of pure silk in comparison
Silks are produced by several other insects, but generally only the silk of moth caterpillars has been used for textile manufacturing. There are a variety of wild silks, produced by caterpillars other than the mulberry silkworm, that have been known to have a scale of production much smaller than that of cultivated silks. Reasons given are that domesticated silkworms are bred scientifically through a strictly controlled diet of mulberry leaves and the environment kept conducive for the making of cocoons by the silkworms. Naturaly the silk is of continuous long length staples, of good texture and feel about it since the silk yarn is reeled in without breaks from the cocoon directly, ensuring better strength of the silken fabrics. Wild silkworms, not ‘diet controlled’ nor under close observation, the reeling in is not continuous and with multiple breaks the overall texture and strength of the silken fibres is affected.
The use of Silk and availability
South Indian States have an ancient tradition to have only silken sarees for weddings, festivals and other auspicious ceremonies. Once worn only by royalty and upper classes, today no household in South India would not be having at least one silk saree. Pure silk sarees once the privilege of hubs like Mysore, Kanchipuram, Dharmavaram only, is today available at places like Arani, Rasipuram, Narayanpet, Uppada etc.in the South. Traditionally Banaras, Sambalpur, Baluchar, Aurangabad, etc. are hubs which have been providing pure silk sarees since long.
The endearing properties of silk
Silk has good strength, one of the best in fabric fibres. A natural shine, soft, smooth textured, pure silk is not slippery like many other fibres. Pure silk fabrics have universal appeal for the regal feel they provide. The purity of pure silk from the domestic silkworm serves as a comparison standard for fabrics with its yarn filament consider as 1 denier. The thickness or fineness of other yarn fibres are compared using this as reference. Silk's absorbency makes it comfortable to wear in warm weather and while active. Its low conductivity keeps warm air close to the skin during cold weather. It finds application in all kinds of apparel and furnishings and today hardly any area in fabrics has been left untouched where the presence of silk is un-noticed.

BEST VACATIONS in Seychelles. When the going gets tough, the tough get going — and the rest of us conjure our ideal escape, dreaming of a remote island with crowd-free sands, bright blue waters and a tranquil aura. But when you're ready to turn that dream into a reality, set your sights on Seychelles, a cluster of 115 islands peppering the Indian Ocean off the eastern coast of Africa. You may have caught sight of the scenery here before: The seemingly endless white beaches, giant boulders and swaying palms are the stuff of postcards, television commercials and desktop backgrounds. And while you're lounging along these famous shorelines, it's likely that the only other life forms you'll encounter will be the islands' colorful birds and humongous tortoises.
The Seychelles islands are often referred to in two separate groups. Most travelers limit their exploration to the 43 Inner Islands, basing themselves on one of the group's three main isles. Mahé is the largest, home to the Seychellois capital, Victoria, as well as the famed Anse Intendance beach. Praslin, the second largest of the primary islands, also boasts several acclaimed shorelines, not to mention the Vallée de Mai Nature Reserve. And then there's La Digue, a quiet island where bicycles reign supreme and the sands of Anse Source d'Argent beach remain unspoiled. Charter a private yacht further out to sea and you'll likely stumble across one of the 72 Outer Islands, low-lying, sandy cays ruled by wildlife. It doesn't get more remote than that.
How To Save Money in Seychelles
Visit in the off seasons
Lodging and transport costs soar from May to September and in December and January. If you can plan a trip for April or November, you can save on travel expenses, especially if you plan several months in advance.
Avoid the resorts
Seychelles' big resorts will charge you an arm and a leg for a bed and a meal. You'll save some dough if you bunk down in one of the islands' smaller inns and dine at local restaurants.
Stay put
It's tempting to try to visit more than one of Seychelles' 115 islands, but you'll save on transportation costs by limiting yourself to just one. Many travelers choose to stay on Mahé or Praslin thanks to the islands' convenient bus systems, ample lodging options and numerous free beaches.
Seychelles Culture & Customs
Comprising 115 islands located off the eastern coast of Africa, the Republic of Seychelles (or simply Seychelles) was first settled by the French in 1770, who maintained ownership of the islands until 1814. Following the passage of the Treaty of Paris, Seychelles relinquished to Britain, which governed Seychelles until the archipelago achieved independence in 1976. In their short history as settled territory, the Seychelles islands have welcomed people of varying nationalities — European, of course, but also African and Asian — all of whom have left their imprint on Seychelles' culture.
The island nation recognizes three official languages: English, French and French-based Seselwa Creole. Many Seychellois can also speak Italian or German, meaning there's no shortage of ways to communicate with islanders. You'll also recognize international influences in the islands' art and architecture; houses are reminiscent of Europe's Victorian era, seafood is prepared with hints of Asian and French cuisine, and Creole-style music and dance is infused with European, African and Malagasy melodies and movements.
The price of most services — like hotel stays, taxi rides and meals at restaurants — already includes a 5 to 10 percent tip, although you're welcome to leave more if you wish. The official currency of the Seychelles islands is the Seychellois rupee (SCR), which is equal to about 6 American cents. However, credit cards and major currencies, such as the British pound, the euro and the U.S. dollar are all acceptable forms of payment. If you decide to use the Seychellois rupee throughout your stay, you'll find plenty of establishments that offer currency exchange services. But to avoid being scammed (or charged with a crime), only change your money at banks, hotel cashiers or the exchange bureau at Seychelles International Airport (SEZ). It is illegal to exchange currency with an unlicensed operator.
Other than the occasional faux moneychanger, Seychelles is a relatively safe place to visit, though you should use common sense when it comes to your personal belongings and any late-night walkabouts. The sun actually poses the largest threat to unsuspecting visitors. Because of the Seychelles islands' location just south of the equator, you'll need to prepare yourself for powerful rays. Make sure that you are diligent about applying sunscreen and drinking water. It also doesn't hurt to bring a hat and some shades.

The Seychelles are a group of 115 islands, only a few inhabited, in the Indian Ocean that lie off the coast of East Africa, northeast of Madagascar.
The Seychelles were disputed between France and Great Britain during the age of colonialism, with Britain ending up in control in 1814 after the Napoleonic Wars. The islands achieved independence in 1976; however, free elections did not occur until 1993. The politics of this island group remain in something of a state of flux, although this should not bother the tourist seeking a relaxing beach vacation. .
Do in Seychelles
==============
Visit the beaches. Many of the beaches are untouched by man's influence and are refreshingly uncrowded. They offer clear blue skies and a tranquility you will rarely find. A hike along the coastline from Beau Vallon to Anse Major will take about 1.5-2 hours and your reward will be a small deserted beach that's fit for a king. The scenery along the hike is breathtaking. Not all beaches are suitable for swimming depending on the time of year, due to the seasonal winds. Do not ignore warning signs indicating that a beach is hazardous for swimming, no matter how it seems to you.
Vallee de Mai is a national park and world heritage site, home to amazing flora and fauna, including the world's largest seed: the coco de mer. Entrance fee: Free for residents, 315 rupees (~20Euros) for foreigners (Sept 2010).
Aldabra Atoll: The world's largest coral atoll that stretches about 22 miles east to west and encloses a huge tidal lagoon. Aldabra is the original home of the giant land tortoise and tiger sharks and manta rays can also often be seen here.
Watersports: The warm Indian Ocean waters make Seychelles the perfect place for the water enthusiasts. Explore on board a yacht, power boat, catamaran or sailboat. Windsurfing is also popular and the best time for this activity is usually around May then in October, at the start and end of the trade winds.
Scuba diving, snorkeling, and fishing are also extremely popular and can be done almost anywhere in Seychelles. Baie Ternay is superb and easily acccessible by glass bottom boat tour from Beau Vallon beach - leave yourself an empty day and walk the beach for a 'last minute' booking - great deals can be bartered. Snorkeling (provided you have your own gear - some hotels lend masks, snorkels and fins to guests) is FREE and there are many great spots: off some of the small beaches at Glacis, past Mouse Island at Anse Royale, along the reef at Port Launay (near Ephelia Resort). Often spotted are a wide array of tropical fish, sea turtles, eagle rays and more!
Land Sports: Golf, tennis, squash, badminton, horseback riding, biking and hiking are some of the recreational activities available on the Seychelles Islands. Bike rentals and walking tours are great ways to sightsee and since distances are relatively short and the scenery is beautiful, walking is probably the best way to see the smaller islands (La Digue, Praslin), while walking along the main road can be quite intimidating as the roads are narrow and local cars/busses drive quite quickly. On Mahe it is not advised to ride bicycles, and there are no rental shops within sight. Bird watching is also popular and the islands are home to many of the worlds most treasured and rare species of animals. The best place to do so is Cousin Island which although only 1 km (0.6 miles) in diameter, is home to more than 300,000 birds, but many unique species can be found at ease on Mahe.
