Government was on Wednesday (February 18) left red-faced after a senior Coast Guard official negated its claim that the crew on an intruding Pakistani boat had set it ablaze but Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar stood his ground and hinted at disciplinary action against him. Acting close on the heels of the minister's statement, the Coast Guard issued a show cause notice to Coast Guard DIG B K Loshali, Chief of Staff (North West Region), asking him for his explanation on his claim yesterday in Surat that he had ordered blowing up of the boat off the Porbandar coast on the new year eve. Loshali's version contradicted the claims by the Defence Minister, Ministry and the Coast Guard made immediately after the incident when they had maintained that when the boat was chased by Coast Guard ships four men on board had set it ablaze. Today, Loshali made a U-turn, claiming he was misquoted by the media. However, the Indian Express uploaded the video of Loshali in which he says that he ordered on December 31 night to "blow up that boat". "Let me tell you. I hope you remember 31st December night... We blew off that Pakistan... We have blown them off. I was there at Gandhinagar and I told at night, blow the boat off. We dont want to serve them biryani," he had said in Surat.
Joining the controversy, Congress demanded that the government come clean on the issue and warned it against threatening the DIG. AAP said the row showed how the government was functioning as one hand does not know what the other hand was doing. But Loshali himself sang a different tune. "I was not privy to whatever was happening. I have been misquoted. I had mentioned that no anti-national element will be allowed to breach our coastal security and we are not going to serve them biryani." "The operation was classified in nature and its details were not shared (with me)," he told reporters, adding it was his boss Inspector General, North West region, Kuldip Singh Sheoran who was in charge of the operation. Parrikar, who addressed a press conference on the sidelines of the Aero Show in Bengaluru, faced a number of questions in the wake of Loshali's statement. He said the Defence Ministry stands by the statement that the boat blew itself up. "The Defence Ministry had given a very clear statement. We stand by it," he told a press conference here referring to the stand taken by him and the ministry that the crew of Pakistani boat had set it afire when challenged by the Coast Guard. Parrikar indicated disciplinary action against the Coast Guard official DIG B K Loshali if he had made the statement contradicting the Ministry's stand.

This message from the ghost of medjugorje explicitly CONTRADICTS the other apparitions of the REAL TRUE Virgin Mary.
Because, since Catherine Emmerich, Therese Neumann, Mary Agreda, Mirna and the Catholic Church have said that the [true authentic] Virgin Mary, the Mother of Jesus Christ WAS BORN on September 8th.
So, the question is: who is the ghost of medjugorje?

A protest march organised by Hindu hardliners in India arrived in New Delhi on Thursday on the eve of the visit by Pope John Paul II.
The Pope will arrive in India on Friday amidst a revived debate on conversions to Christianity in this overwhelmingly Hindu nation of nearly one billion people.
Elaborate security arrangements have been made to ensure that the papal visit passes off peacefully.
The Pope will visit the Indian capital, New Delhi, on Friday as a guest of the Indian government.
The last time he visited India was in 1986.
In anticipation of the papal visit, a group of radical Hindu protestors arrived in New Delhi on Thursday to stage a protest.
They carried with them painted images of alleged Christian atrocities.
The protest was organised by a Hindu hardliner group, calling itself the Forum to Protect Indian Culture.
The protests have been small but uncomfortable for the governing Bharatiya Janata Party since they come from its bedrock political support among Hindu conservatives.
Only a handful of protesters made the journey to the capital from the western state of Goa, seeking an apology from the pope for the 16th century massacres of Hindus by the Portuguese during the Inquisition.
On their arrival in New Delhi, they were greeted by hundreds of supporters.
The protestors say they oppose the Pope's forcible conversions by his missionaries and not his visit.
They also allege that large scale conversions to Christianity are dividing Indian society and abetting separatists in different parts of India.
The Vishwa Hindu Parishad, a right-wing affiliate of Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's Bharatiya Janata Party, is at the forefront of the protest.

Annihilationism is the false teaching that when a person dies he is annihilated thus negating eternal hell fire. This is contradicted by the Bible in many places such as Matthew 25:46 which says "And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life." Also, degrees of punishment will be given on the Day of Judgment (Rev. 20:11-15). If all, or only the wicked are annihilated, then degrees of punishment would be pointless.
The Greek word for "everlasting" is aionios. The word means ageless-without beginning, without ending, or both. It is used in Romans 16:26 of God :"the everlasting [aionios] God." This use of the word should clearly show us the meaning of the word "everlasting." The Greek scholar A.T. Robertson says of the word: "It comes as near to the idea of eternal as the Greek can put it in one word. It is a difficult idea to put into language." The very same word (aionios) is used to describe the future life of the righteous and the future punishment of the wicked in Matthew 25:46: "And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal." If punishment of the wicked is limited, we may likewise limit the life of the righteous! But such cannot be done. This phrase, "for ever and ever" (eis tous aionas aionon), occurs 20 times in the New Testament: of God-16 times; of saints' future blessedness-1 time; of punishment of the wicked and Satan-- 3 times.
Death is never an annihilation, or a ceasing to exist. It is always a separation. The second death is the final and eternal separation of the unsaved in the "lake of fire" (Rev 20:11-15). That the second death is not annihilation see Revelation 19:20 and 20:10. Neither does "destruction" mean annihilation. Something can be destroyed without being annihilated. There is much destruction of property, goods, buildings, etc., in war, but such things are not annihilated. The unsaved still exist and will exist for all eternity in the "lake of fire." They experience "destruction" of peace, joy, and hope.
Some time ago, Dr. Erwin Lutzer, head pastor of Moody Church in Chicago , IL debated Dr. Clark Pinnock of McMaster Divinity College on "Open Line," a radio broadcast of Moody Broadcasting Network. Dr. Lutzer defended the historic and orthodox view of eternal, conscious torment for the damned while Dr. Pinnock defended the popular annihilationist view that the damned cease to exist in eternity.
Dr. Erwin Lutzer:
"As I wrestle with the text of Scripture I do not think there is any fair, honest way to interpret the passages other than that of eternal, conscience torment. The annihilationists...would say that when people are thrown into hell the fire consumes them and they are annihilated. Revelation 14:9-11 it says, "...If anyone worships the beast and his image and receives a mark on his forehead or upon his hand, he also will drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is mixed in full strength in the cup of His anger; and he will be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever; and they have no rest day and night, those who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receives the mark of his name."
Now notice here that the fire did not consume these folks. It says that they are tormented by the fire forever and ever, they have no rest day or night; and the strongest language that the Greek language has here when it uses the words "forever and ever," literally into the "ages of the ages," the same words that are used for God who exists from all eternity, are used here to refer to their torment "day and night forever and ever." So I realize that Dr. Pinnock and others may have, if I may say so, ingenious ways to interpret the passage differently, but I really don't think you can be fair to the text and do it and of course this is only one among many of such texts which really do not allow for alternate interpretations.

Today, Loshali made a U-turn, claiming he was misquoted by the media. However, the Indian Express uploaded the video of Loshali in which he says that he ordered on December 31 night to "blow up that boat". "Let me tell you. I hope you remember 31st December night... We blew off that Pakistan... We have blown them off. I was there at Gandhinagar and I told at night, blow the boat off. We dont want to serve them biryani," he had said in Surat. Joining the controversy, Congress demanded that the government come clean on the issue and warned it against threatening the DIG. AAP said the row showed how the government was functioning as one hand does not know what the other hand was doing. But Loshali himself sang a different tune. "I was not privy to whatever was happening. I have been misquoted. I had mentioned that no anti-national element will be allowed to breach our coastal security and we are not going to serve them biryani." "The operation was classified in nature and its details were not shared (with me)," he told reporters, adding it was his boss Inspector General, North West region, Kuldip Singh Sheoran who was in charge of the operation. Parrikar, who addressed a press conference on the sidelines of the Aero Show in Bengaluru, faced a number of questions in the wake of Loshali's statement. The Pope will arrive in India on Friday amidst a revived debate on conversions to Christianity in this overwhelmingly Hindu nation of nearly one billion people. Elaborate security arrangements have been made to ensure that the papal visit passes off peacefully. The Pope will visit the Indian capital, New Delhi, on Friday as a guest of the Indian government. The last time he visited India was in 1986. In anticipation of the papal visit, a group of radical Hindu protestors arrived in New Delhi on Thursday to stage a protest. They carried with them painted images of alleged Christian atrocities. The protest was organised by a Hindu hardliner group, calling itself the Forum to Protect Indian Culture. The protests have been small but uncomfortable for the governing Bharatiya Janata Party since they come from its bedrock political support among Hindu conservatives. Only a handful of protesters made the journey to the capital from the western state of Goa, seeking an apology from the pope for the 16th century massacres of Hindus by the Portuguese during the Inquisition. On their arrival in New Delhi, they were greeted by hundreds of supporters. The protestors say they oppose the Pope's forcible conversions by his missionaries and not his visit. They also allege that large scale conversions to Christianity are dividing Indian society and abetting separatists in different parts of India. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad, a right-wing affiliate of Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's Bharatiya Janata Party, is at the forefront of the protest. Annihilationism is the false teaching that when a person dies he is annihilated thus negating eternal hell fire. This is contradicted by the Bible in many places such as Matthew 25:46 which says "And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life." Also, degrees of punishment will be given on the Day of Judgment (Rev. 20:11-15). If all, or only the wicked are annihilated, then degrees of punishment would be pointless. The Greek word for "everlasting" is aionios. The word means ageless-without beginning, without ending, or both. It is used in Romans 16:26 of God :"the everlasting [aionios] God." This use of the word should clearly show us the meaning of the word "everlasting." The Greek scholar A.T. Robertson says of the word: "It comes as near to the idea of eternal as the Greek can put it in one word. It is a difficult idea to put into language." The very same word (aionios) is used to describe the future life of the righteous and the future punishment of the wicked in Matthew 25:46: "And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal." If punishment of the wicked is limited, we may likewise limit the life of the righteous! But such cannot be done. This phrase, "for ever and ever" (eis tous aionas aionon), occurs 20 times in the New Testament: of God-16 times; of saints' future blessedness-1 time; of punishment of the wicked and Satan-- 3 times. Death is never an annihilation, or a ceasing to exist. It is always a separation. The second death is the final and eternal separation of the unsaved in the "lake of fire" (Rev 20:11-15). That the second death is not annihilation see Revelation 19:20 and 20:10. Neither does "destruction" mean annihilation. Something can be destroyed without being annihilated. There is much destruction of property, goods, buildings, etc., in war, but such things are not annihilated. The unsaved still exist and will exist for all eternity in the "lake of fire." They experience "destruction" of peace, joy, and hope. Some time ago, Dr. Erwin Lutzer, head pastor of Moody Church in Chicago , IL debated Dr. Clark Pinnock of McMaster Divinity College on "Open Line," a radio broadcast of Moody Broadcasting Network. Dr. Lutzer defended the historic and orthodox view of eternal, conscious torment for the damned while Dr. Pinnock defended the popular annihilationist view that the damned cease to exist in eternity. Dr. Erwin Lutzer: "As I wrestle with the text of Scripture I do not think there is any fair, honest way to interpret the passages other than that of eternal, conscience torment. The annihilationists...would say that when people are thrown into hell the fire consumes them and they are annihilated. Revelation 14:9-11 it says, "...If anyone worships the beast and his image and receives a mark on his forehead or upon his hand, he also will drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is mixed in full strength in the cup of His anger; and he will be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever; and they have no rest day and night, those who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receives the mark of his name." Now notice here that the fire did not consume these folks. It says that they are tormented by the fire forever and ever, they have no rest day or night; and the strongest language that the Greek language has here when it uses the words "forever and ever," literally into the "ages of the ages," the same words that are used for God who exists from all eternity, are used here to refer to their torment "day and night forever and ever." So I realize that Dr. Pinnock and others may have, if I may say so, ingenious ways to interpret the passage differently, but I really don't think you can be fair to the text and do it and of course this is only one among many of such texts which really do not allow for alternate interpretations. Dr. Clark Pinnock (response): "That is a very difficult text for my position, I admit that freely." Psalm 9:17 -

Government was on Wednesday (February 18) left red-faced after a senior Coast Guard official negated its claim that the crew on an intruding Pakistani boat had set it ablaze but Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar stood his ground and hinted at disciplinary action against him. Acting close on the heels of the minister's statement, the Coast Guard issued a show cause notice to Coast Guard DIG B K Loshali, Chief of Staff (North West Region), asking him for his explanation on his claim yesterday in Surat that he had ordered blowing up of the boat off the Porbandar coast on the new year eve. Loshali's version contradicted the claims by the Defence Minister, Ministry and the Coast Guard made immediately after the incident when they had maintained that when the boat was chased by Coast Guard ships four men on board had set it ablaze. Today, Loshali made a U-turn, claiming he was misquoted by the media. However, the Indian Express uploaded the video of Loshali in which he says that he ordered on December 31 night to "blow up that boat". "Let me tell you. I hope you remember 31st December night... We blew off that Pakistan... We have blown them off. I was there at Gandhinagar and I told at night, blow the boat off. We dont want to serve them biryani," he had said in Surat.
Joining the controversy, Congress demanded that the government come clean on the issue and warned it against threatening the DIG. AAP said the row showed how the government was functioning as one hand does not know what the other hand was doing. But Loshali himself sang a different tune. "I was not privy to whatever was happening. I have been misquoted. I had mentioned that no anti-national element will be allowed to breach our coastal security and we are not going to serve them biryani." "The operation was classified in nature and its details were not shared (with me)," he told reporters, adding it was his boss Inspector General, North West region, Kuldip Singh Sheoran who was in charge of the operation. This message from the ghost of medjugorje explicitly CONTRADICTS the other apparitions of the REAL TRUE Virgin Mary.
Because, since Catherine Emmerich, Therese Neumann, Mary Agreda, Mirna and the Catholic Church have said that the [true authentic] Virgin Mary, the Mother of Jesus Christ WAS BORN on September 8th.
So, the question is: who is the ghost of medjugorje?

on May 25, 1984, the ghost of medjugorje demanded that the feast of her birthday be celebrated on the 5th of August INSTEAD OF the 8th of September.
This message from the ghost of medjugorje explicitly CONTRADICTS the other apparitions of the REAL TRUE Virgin Mary.
Because, since Catherine Emmerich, Therese Neumann, Mary Agreda, Mirna and the Catholic Church have said that the [true authentic] Virgin Mary, the Mother of Jesus Christ WAS BORN on September 8th.
So, the question is: who is the ghost of medjugorje?
The ghost of medjugorje through it's seers has given the counterfeit message that explicitly CONTRADICTS the authentic [approved] apparitions of the true Virgin Mary.
In fact: Mirna of Damascus received four apparitions in the same year: 1984 on the eve of September 8th [NOT on the 5th of August].
True seer will not contradict another true seer.
Our Lady will not contradict HERSELF.
Heaven will not confuse people.
The true message of the true Virgin Mary will not contradict/against her OWN WORDS from the apparitions of HERSELF.

WHO OR WHAT is the ghost that appears at medjugorje ?

Elaborate security arrangements have been made to ensure that the papal visit passes off peacefully.
The Pope will visit the Indian capital, New Delhi, on Friday as a guest of the Indian government.
The last time he visited India was in 1986.
In anticipation of the papal visit, a group of radical Hindu protestors arrived in New Delhi on Thursday to stage a protest.
They carried with them painted images of alleged Christian atrocities.
The protest was organised by a Hindu hardliner group, calling itself the Forum to Protect Indian Culture.
The protests have been small but uncomfortable for the governing Bharatiya Janata Party since they come from its bedrock political support among Hindu conservatives.
Only a handful of protesters made the journey to the capital from the western state of Goa, seeking an apology from the pope for the 16th century massacres of Hindus by the Portuguese during the Inquisition.
On their arrival in New Delhi, they were greeted by hundreds of supporters.
The protestors say they oppose the Pope's forcible conversions by his missionaries and not his visit.
They also allege that large scale conversions to Christianity are dividing Indian society and abetting separatists in different parts of India.
The Vishwa Hindu Parishad, a right-wing affiliate of Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's Bharatiya Janata Party, is at the forefront of the protest.

"Why is there such an uproar about our protest? If we had wanted to stop him from coming, no one would have dared to oppose us . . . nobody can come here without our consent. And these visits have not begun today, they go back a long time."

The Sacred Heart Cathedral in New Delhi is being spruced up for the meeting of the Asian Bishops.
Security has been beefed up around the church, as the freshly painted cathedral is getting ready to host the Asian Synod meeting.
Inside, children rehearse for the ceremony to be attended by the Holy Father.
The Pope is scheduled to meet with the Bishops of the Synod and introduce the Synod document, which will spell out the Vatican's vision for Asia for the next millennium.
India has 23 (m) million Christians, or two-point-three percent of the population.
Of those, 16 (m) million are Catholic.
The Archbishop of New Delhi, Alan de Lastic, denies allegations of forced conversion and says the protestors are only a fringe group who do not enjoy public support.

The Coast Guard circulated a CD of the December 31 operation off the Porbandar coast among the journalists to back their claim that the boat was blown up by its Pakistani occupants. It also said the Coast Guard stands by the information released to media by Ministry of Defence dated on January 2and rejected various media interpretation on the issue of interception of the boat.The Coast Guard ordered a "board of inquiry" against its North West Region Chief of Staff DIG B K Loshali after finding his reply "unsatisfactory" to a showcause notice on his remarks that he had ordered blowing up of a Pakistani boat. On Tuesday, Loshali had contradicted government's claim that the crew on an intruding Pakistani boat had set it ablaze. Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, the Ministry and the Coast Guard had maintained that when the boat was chasedby Coast Guard ships four men on board had set it ablaze. The 4.39-minute video clip circulated by the Coast Guard shows a boat in flames with smoke billowing and some unclear voices. At one place a person can be heard saying, "Nahin pehchana hoga... pehchana toh hoga" (would not have identified.. would have identified). On February 18, Parrikar had said that his Ministry stands by the statement that an intruding Pakistani boat blew itself up off Porbandar coast on New Year eve and hinted at disciplinary action against Loshali who reportedly claimed that it was sunk by the force.

Annihilationism is the false teaching that when a person dies he is annihilated thus negating eternal hell fire. This is contradicted by the Bible in many places such as Matthew 25:46 which says "And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life." Also, degrees of punishment will be given on the Day of Judgment (Rev. 20:11-15). If all, or only the wicked are annihilated, then degrees of punishment would be pointless.
The Greek word for "everlasting" is aionios. The word means ageless-without beginning, without ending, or both. It is used in Romans 16:26 of God :"the everlasting [aionios] God." This use of the word should clearly show us the meaning of the word "everlasting." The Greek scholar A.T. Robertson says of the word: "It comes as near to the idea of eternal as the Greek can put it in one word. It is a difficult idea to put into language." The very same word (aionios) is used to describe the future life of the righteous and the future punishment of the wicked in Matthew 25:46: "And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal." If punishment of the wicked is limited, we may likewise limit the life of the righteous! But such cannot be done. This phrase, "for ever and ever" (eis tous aionas aionon), occurs 20 times in the New Testament: of God-16 times; of saints' future blessedness-1 time; of punishment of the wicked and Satan-- 3 times.
Death is never an annihilation, or a ceasing to exist. It is always a separation. The second death is the final and eternal separation of the unsaved in the "lake of fire" (Rev 20:11-15). That the second death is not annihilation see Revelation 19:20 and 20:10. Neither does "destruction" mean annihilation. Something can be destroyed without being annihilated. There is much destruction of property, goods, buildings, etc., in war, but such things are not annihilated. The unsaved still exist and will exist for all eternity in the "lake of fire." They experience "destruction" of peace, joy, and hope.
Some time ago, Dr. Erwin Lutzer, head pastor of Moody Church in Chicago , IL debated Dr. Clark Pinnock of McMaster Divinity College on "Open Line," a radio broadcast of Moody Broadcasting Network. Dr. Lutzer defended the historic and orthodox view of eternal, conscious torment for the damned while Dr. Pinnock defended the popular annihilationist view that the damned cease to exist in eternity.
Dr. Erwin Lutzer:
"As I wrestle with the text of Scripture I do not think there is any fair, honest way to interpret the passages other than that of eternal, conscience torment. The annihilationists...would say that when people are thrown into hell the fire consumes them and they are annihilated. Revelation 14:9-11 it says, "...If anyone worships the beast and his image and receives a mark on his forehead or upon his hand, he also will drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is mixed in full strength in the cup of His anger; and he will be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever; and they have no rest day and night, those who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receives the mark of his name."
Now notice here that the fire did not consume these folks. It says that they are tormented by the fire forever and ever, they have no rest day or night; and the strongest language that the Greek language has here when it uses the words "forever and ever," literally into the "ages of the ages," the same words that are used for God who exists from all eternity, are used here to refer to their torment "day and night forever and ever." So I realize that Dr. Pinnock and others may have, if I may say so, ingenious ways to interpret the passage differently, but I really don't think you can be fair to the text and do it and of course this is only one among many of such texts which really do not allow for alternate interpretations.

Dale is author of Sabbath in Christ, The Cultic Doctrine of Seventh-day Adventists, The Truth About the Seventh-day Adventist Truth, and Adventist to Christian. Dale was an Adventist pastor for 13 years, seven of which he spent teaching Bible at Monterey Bay Academy , La Selva Beach, California. During his doctoral studies at Andrews University in the 1980’s, Dale became convinced that the 1844 investigative judgment could not be supported by Scripture. Since he could no longer teach this doctrine, he and his wife Carolyn left the Adventist denomination. Dale and Carolyn host a Former Adventist Fellowship Bible study near Phoenix, Arizona.
The Seventh-day Adventist doctrine of the investigative judgment and cleansing of the heavenly Sanctuary based upon Daniel 8:14 is indeed the central pillar of the Adventist faith. Some Adventists may disagree; however, it is. Ellen White said, “The scripture which above all others had been both the foundation and central pillar of the Advent faith was the declaration, ‘Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed’.
A recent book by Dr. Roy Adams is subtitled, Understanding the Heart of Adventist Theology, and it confirms this.The Adult Sabbath School Bible Study Guide, 2001, is entitled, Pillars of Our Faith. It includes chapters on “The Sabbath”, “The Heavenly Sanctuary”, “The Hour of God’s Judgment”, “The Remnant”, etc. The last two presidents of the General Conference have both expressed publicly that the Adventist church will not change.
•Ellen G. White said that Daniel 8:14 is the foundation and central pillar of the Advent faith.
•A recent book on the sanctuary by Adventist leader Dr. Roy Adams is subtitled, The heart of Adventist theology.
•A recent Adult Sabbath School Bible Study Guide, entitled, The pillars of our faith includes chapters on the “The Sabbath”, “The Heavenly Sanctuary”, “The Hour of God’s Judgment”, and “The Remnant”. It includes this quotation from Early Writings, p. 263, “Jesus entered the most holy of the heavenly, at the end of the 2300 days of Daniel 8, in 1844, to make final atonement for all who could be benefitted by His mediation, and thus to cleanse the sanctuary.”
•Dr. Roy Gane stated that he was excited to know that Ratzlaff understood that the sanctuary was central to Adventists.
•Dr. Richard Davidson referred to the sanctuary as the heart of doctrine.
•Dr. Angel Rodriguez, professor of theology at the Adventist seminary and associate director of the Adventist Biblical Research Institute, stated forthrightly, “Without 1844 and the doctrine of the Sanctuary ... there is no reason for us to exist. 1844 provided for us our identity and our mission. And if we are wrong, then we are simply wrong.”
We can see that the stakes are high.
There are many, perhaps the majority, of Adventist pastors and Bible teachers who want to run as far away from Daniel 8:14, 1844 and the investigative judgment, and the cleansing of the heavenly sanctuary as possible. Yet the church cannot dismiss this doctrine. This doctrine is not only the central pillar in name, it is the central pillar holding up the whole Adventist identity. I agree 100% with Dr. Rodriguez on this point. If the Adventist church were to jettison this teaching, the organization would be morphed into something it is not. That is why the last two General Conference presidents have openly endorsed Ellen White and the sanctuary doctrine. If they were to admit the errors of October 22, 1844, and the investigative judgment as the cleansing of the heavenly sanctuary as taught by Ellen White, then Ellen White would fall as “a continuing and authoritative source of truth”. If Ellen White is rejected, the doctrine of the remnant church would fall on the heap. If the remnant church doctrine goes, then the Sabbath as the seal of God for end time believers and Sunday as the mark of the beast crumbles into the dust.

The Seventh-day Adventist doctrine of the investigative judgment and cleansing of the heavenly Sanctuary based upon Daniel 8:14 is indeed the central pillar of the Adventist faith. Some Adventists may disagree; however, it is. Ellen White said, “The scripture which above all others had been both the foundation and central pillar of the Advent faith was the declaration, ‘Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed’.
A recent book by Dr. Roy Adams is subtitled, Understanding the Heart of Adventist Theology, and it confirms this.The Adult Sabbath School Bible Study Guide, 2001, is entitled, Pillars of Our Faith. It includes chapters on “The Sabbath”, “The Heavenly Sanctuary”, “The Hour of God’s Judgment”, “The Remnant”, etc. The last two presidents of the General Conference have both expressed publicly that the Adventist church will not change.
•Ellen G. White said that Daniel 8:14 is the foundation and central pillar of the Advent faith.
•A recent book on the sanctuary by Adventist leader Dr. Roy Adams is subtitled, The heart of Adventist theology.
•A recent Adult Sabbath School Bible Study Guide, entitled, The pillars of our faith includes chapters on the “The Sabbath”, “The Heavenly Sanctuary”, “The Hour of God’s Judgment”, and “The Remnant”. It includes this quotation from Early Writings, p. 263, “Jesus entered the most holy of the heavenly, at the end of the 2300 days of Daniel 8, in 1844, to make final atonement for all who could be benefitted by His mediation, and thus to cleanse the sanctuary.”
•Dr. Roy Gane stated that he was excited to know that Ratzlaff understood that the sanctuary was central to Adventists.
•Dr. Richard Davidson referred to the sanctuary as the heart of doctrine.
•Dr. Angel Rodriguez, professor of theology at the Adventist seminary and associate director of the Adventist Biblical Research Institute, stated forthrightly, “Without 1844 and the doctrine of the Sanctuary ... there is no reason for us to exist. 1844 provided for us our identity and our mission. And if we are wrong, then we are simply wrong.”
We can see that the stakes are high.
There are many, perhaps the majority, of Adventist pastors and Bible teachers who want to run as far away from Daniel 8:14, 1844 and the investigative judgment, and the cleansing of the heavenly sanctuary as possible. Yet the church cannot dismiss this doctrine. This doctrine is not only the central pillar in name, it is the central pillar holding up the whole Adventist identity. I agree 100% with Dr. Rodriguez on this point. If the Adventist church were to jettison this teaching, the organization would be morphed into something it is not. That is why the last two General Conference presidents have openly endorsed Ellen White and the sanctuary doctrine. If they were to admit the errors of October 22, 1844, and the investigative judgment as the cleansing of the heavenly sanctuary as taught by Ellen White, then Ellen White would fall as “a continuing and authoritative source of truth”. If Ellen White is rejected, the doctrine of the remnant church would fall on the heap. If the remnant church doctrine goes, then the Sabbath as the seal of God for end time believers and Sunday as the mark of the beast crumbles into the dust.
