Mark Prindle is a New York resident best known for his influential and highly-regarded website 'Mark's Record Reviews' which he founded in 1996 and continues to run.
Less well known is the man's music - and this release, spanning a decade's worth of solo compositions from 1998-2007, is a small step towards drawing some much-needed attention to his catalogue.
Mirroring his irreverent, stream-of-consciousness writing style, his music breaks with all conventions. Relentlessly inventive guitar melodies are, depending on opinion, either ruined or enhanced by sub lo-fi recording, puerile lyrics, premature cut-offs, walls of distortion, and many other radio play-threatening tactics which are often utilised in a single song.
Eight selections each from his five solo albums are included and, bearing in mind his solo albums frequently exceed 60 tracks, this compilation serves only as a brief introduction to his output.
