Make the most of Victoria University's information and technology resources, particularly those offered by the Library and ITS.
As a student, you have access to a rich collection of online resources, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, which includes: databases or material housed within the Library, student email, e-learning content for courses you are enrolled in and student software packages.

Access to VU systems
Information about accessing VU systems including network & wireless access, creating & changing passwords. -

Our students have access to computer laboratories and Open Access facilities. -

Links to recommended browsers, anti-virus and other utility software for PC and Macs. -
Internet use
To ensure valuable computer resources are used in the fairest way for the entire Victoria University community, all students are allocated monthly Internet quotas. -

Know who you are providing your information to & be confident they will treat it securely & appropriately. We provide advice and tips on how to safe online.

The IT Service Desk is the central point of contact for help and assistance with all information technology issues.
Online reporting
Report an IT fault or service request online – login using your MYVU Portal or Active Directory (AD) username and password (same as your student email login details).

You can contact the ITS Service Desk via phone on +61 3 9919 2777 (option 1) for all ITS related problems, or queries from anywhere within the University.
Hours of operation
During semester
Monday to Thursday: 8am - 9pm
Friday: 8.30am - 5pm
Semester break
Monday to Friday: 8.30am - 5pm
Outside operating hours
Probably the best thing to do outside of our operating hours is report an IT fault or service request online.
If you phone us outside our operating hours you will be connected to our voicemail system. When leaving a voicemail message, please leave a detailed description of the problem or request and include your:
- name
- phone number
- student ID
- department
- location.
