Delinquent Accounts….Collections…..YUCK!
Yuck is exactly what I thought when I heard “collections agency”. I was approached a little over 5 years ago and offered a job at Frost-Arnett. I hadn’t heard of them and when I was told they were a collections agency, I thought, no way, never, yuck. But 5 years later I have been asked to describe our company. More directly to describe what makes us different from other collections agencies. Being the KDA endorsed vendor for collections is a distinction we proudly claim, but there is more. Here is how I answered that question in a recent RFP.
What differentiates you from your competitors?
In the collections industry there are some things that shouldn’t be a “big deal” or a differentiator, but sometimes are. Like many collections agencies Frost Arnett can claim:
§ State of the art software and technology for follow up and tracking
§ An online web portal for clients to access their accounts.
§ Members of ACA – American Collectors Association
§ Licensed in 44 states and working coast to coast
§ Credit Bureau reporting and skip tracing
§ Customized, detailed, and understandable reports
§ Online payment portal for consumers
Frost Arnett can expand on some claims of difference:
· The ACA has over 5500 members but Frost Arnett is one of 68 (top 2%) that have gained the PPMS designation for quality and customer service. PPMS is a management system for collection agencies based upon developing, implementing and adhering to a set of industry-specific professional practices and policies. You open yourself up for ongoing scrutiny to assure exemplary service and can lose the designation if you don’t maintain the standard.
· 280 +/- employees working from 4 call centers – Nashville, Knoxville, Houston, and Campbellsville.
· Experience – As a company for 120 years there are 44 employees that have been working for FAC for between 14-53 years.
And definitely unique to the collections industry:
§ 120 years being industry leaders displaying high levels of integrity and stability.
§ Frost-Arnett is Healthcare specific – 95% of all accounts are healthcare related.
§ Collectors with 6.5 years average experience working healthcare accounts vs. an industry average of less than 1.5 years.
§ Client Liaisons – dedicated personnel providing unparalleled customer service.
§ We currently are the KDA’s endorsed vendor for collections.
But even with all this, the real differentiator is our people; high quality people who make a difference in the lives of consumers every day doing a very difficult job in a very kind-hearted way. This is best illustrated in a couple of stories and not in a list of tools or systems.
It’s a story that’s been lived out numerous times when one of our Account Executives sits down with a business office manager that is looking for the best collections agency for their practice. When they tell us that they, or one of their family members, received medical treatment after changing insurance coverage, resulting in their bill being turned over to a collections agency, one of which was Frost-Arnett. And after having a direct experience with Frost-Arnett they tell us they were treated and spoken to with kindness and respect. They already know, “…that’s how I want our patients treated. That’s how I want our practice represented.” This is what makes us different.
It’s common for a company to be able to get testimonials from clients, but it makes me proud to be able to tell you about one of our collectors that received flowers from a consumer after the collections process was over. The consumer commented on how kind and helpful our collectors are. And to be able to tell you how we receive letters from consumers that say, “God bless you” and “Thank you and keep up the good work”.
That’s what differentiates us from our competitors.
We are a kind-hearted collections agency and if that seems like an oxy-moron it is.
If we can put our unique style to work for you, don’t hesitate to contact me.
