I've got nothing but praise for this movie. Here we are, the seventh film in to a long running franchise and it just happens to be one of the best, one of the most unique and one of the most creative yet. Throughout the Fast and Furious series, the franchise has slowly grown from its humble beginnings as an undercover cop film that featured street racers and fast cars to something bigger and more bombastic with each new entry. No complaints from this guy either. I've loved the ride. Furious 7 to me is the most "blockbuster" film of the series to date. I honestly don't think this movie was any less exciting or "big" than any Marvel movie I've seen except for maybe Avengers and Winter Soldier. It was a huge movie, even more ambitious than the 6th which I thought was extremely ambitious in its own right. This has instantly become one of my favorites in the series easily on Par with #1 and #5 my other two favorites.
I also wanted to say what I thought about the Paul Walker situation. The way his character is handled in this film is nothing short of brilliant. I know the film was only half finished when he passed away, but you would never know it. The character "Brian" has no less screen time than he has always had. And keeping this spoiler free, the way they handled writing him out of further movies was straight up brilliant, touching and moved at least this guy to tears. Honestly. It was a tragedy that Paul Walker died so young and his unfortunate passing must have created a huge problem for the production of this film that could've ended up leaving it a complete disaster. Luckily that was not the case.Read more ›

Best Furious to date - we watched this opening night, and have watched every one. This is the best one so far - great car scenes, death defying stunts, over the top villains and hot girls/cars/guys - what's not to love? This is a great guy movie - it is also a great girls night out movie, and a great date movie - it truly has something for everyone.
This has everything you expect from the Furious franchise, but an even bigger focus on family. The funny thing is, after watching this, it made me think a lot of the Disney animated movie Lilo & Stitch :).
I loved the addition of Kurt Russell, as well as Jason Statham, who plays pretty much the same character he always plays, just on the villain side this time.
Amazing what they did with this movie from a continuity and filming perspective given the timing of the situation with Paul Walker, all I can say is wow, and there has to be some sort of award for this movie this year. The tribute at the end was extremely moving, and if you are a Paul Walker fan, you might find yourself welling up just a bit (or more). Made me think a bit about my friends as well.
So go have a great time and don't miss this one! If you haven't seen the others in the franchise, make sure to see what you've missed - it helps make the story that much more interesting. But regardless, it is a hell of a ride!

I just want to preface this review by stating I have been a fan of this series since it first came out and have kind of grown up as I watched it. I was 19 and in college with no responsibilities, single, and a care free life the first time I saw Fast and Furious. I am now 33 married and just had our second child. Given the themes of this movie, the evolution of the characters, only make this movie even more poignant.
The core of this series has always been about family, and the 7th film is no different. It truly takes the dramatic core of family and takes it to another level. As a person who has grown along with the series and watched the characters grow and have families in the movies, this movie truly emphasizes something in life that few action movies are able to stress, and that is Family. Dom states "I don't have friends. I have family." And that is exactly what this movie is about. The performances feel so real, especially given the knowledge that Paul Walker passed during filming adds even more emotional weight to many of the scenes. I almost feel as though it is almost Vin Diesel himself talking to his compadres at times rather then the character talking to other characters. That is how real it seemed at times.
Plot Synopsis: As seen from the previews, this movie is about revenge. However, there is an added twist to this. I will not state exactly, but I will say that I felt that Jason Statham was quite underused in this movie. I felt that his character had minimal development and was a stereotypical "bad guy on a revenge trip." As in any Fast movie the action set pieces are too notch and require a hefty dose of suspension of disbelief, but isn't that way you came to see these films anyway.Read more ›

So many movies struggle to find a fine line between action and closure and this movie did just that extremely well. I was entertained the entire time and thought the ending was a perfect send off for Paul Walker. What was great about the ending is it still allowed them to continue on with the series without Paul. This movie felt more in line with those that were earlier in the series as it had the emotion and action all together. I would recommend this to anyone who has enjoyed these movies in the past or was a fan of Paul Walker

It is supposed to include a DVD copy of the film. However, it looks like the DVD version will only include the theatrical cut, as well as fewer bonus features.
The DVD will be NTSC and Region 1, so you probably would have trouble playing that in Europe. The Blu-Ray will likely be fine, since the NTSC/PAL distinction doesn't apply to HD video, and Universal Blu-Rays are typically region free. However, I doubt the Digital Copy code from the US version... Read More
Movie itself should have never been made (even prior to Paul's death), IMHO. FF6 closed the franchise out in such a perfect manner and left on such a high note. I did see this in the theaters (curiosity got the best of me) and it was horrible. From the ultra-voilent opening with Jason's character... Read More
