Quickly has become a standard text

Most parish youth ministries and catholic high schools in my diocese seem to have adopted this book as either a resource or text book. It is clear, concise, faithful to the catechism, and able to articulate the faith at an age-appealing level. This book and the Catholic Youth Bible should go hand in hand as the two essentials that every teen should have.

Excellent resource for young Catholics

My Confirmation students use this in their two year Sacramental preparation. Vauable information on Scripture, Tradition, Revelation, the Trinity, and Catholic Social Teaching just to name a few topics.

Wealth of information

I am a CCD teacher and retreat facilitator and I feel that the Catholic Faith Handbook offers so much information that both youth and adults are unaware of. I've learned a lot myself.

As a catechist for the junior and high school divisions, I do strongly recommend this book as a supplement for high students preparing for the sacrament of Confirmation. We do not base our curriculum on this book, but our students are required to have it just as the title refers, "handbook". They have readings assigned from this book and often they refer back to it when they have questions pertaining to prayers, history, saints, doctrines,etc. of the Catholic religion. Although it has been a very useful book; UNFORTUNATELY it is outdated. In 2011, our church has made changes in the translation of the mass, therefore certain prayers and creeds, such as the Nicene Creed, need to be updated. I am hoping St. Mary's Press can print a third edition for these significant changes.

One of the most well put together books I've encountered

Excellent for youth and adults

I love this book so much, I use it as a reference for my adult RCIA class! It takes the Catechism and rewrites it in concise, everyday, conversational language. It is a great read, has wonderful pictures and illustrations. If you just use it for youth, I think you're cheating yourself. Mr. Singer-Towns has produced a great reference for the Catholic faith with this handbook.

Not the best sorce of this information.

This is a "text book" for Catholicism but it is not up to date. Also it is written from the author's perspective often stating personal belief as Doctrine.

Been using iot for years.

An excellent Cathecetical teaching tool that I've found to be all inclusive for teens. Easy to read and is the very basic teachings of the Catholic Church. Excellent resource.
