"La cathedrale engloutie" ("The Submerged Cathedral"), No. 10, from Preludes, Book I, by French composer Claude Debussy. (year set composed 1909-1910)
Achille-Claude Debussy (22 August 1862 – 25 March 1918) was a French composer. Along with Maurice Ravel, he was one of the most prominent figures associated with Impressionist music, though he himself disliked the term when applied to his compositions. He was made Chevalier of the Legion of Honour in his native France in 1903. Debussy was among the most influential composers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and his use of non-traditional scales and chromaticism influenced many composers who followed.
Debussy's music is noted for its sensory content and frequent usage of atonality. The prominent French literary style of his period was known as Symbolism, and this movement directly inspired Debussy both as a composer and as an active cultural participant.
La cathédrale engloutie (The Sunken Cathedral) is a prelude written by the French composer Claude Debussy for solo piano. It was published in 1910 as the tenth prelude in Debussy’s first of two volumes of twelve piano preludes each. It is characteristic of Debussy in its form, harmony, and content.
This prelude is an example of Debussy's musical impressionism in that it is a musical depiction, or allusion, of an image or idea. Debussy quite often named his pieces with the exact image that he was composing about, like La Mer, Des pas sur la neige, or Jardins sous la pluie. In the case of the two volumes of preludes, he places the title of the piece at the end of the piece, either to allow the pianist to respond intuitively and individually to the music before finding out what Debussy intended the music to sound like, or to apply more ambiguity to the music's allusion. Because this piece is based on a legend, it can be considered program music.
To begin the piece, Debussy uses parallel fifths. The first chord of the piece is made up of sonorous Gs and Ds (open fifths). The use of stark, open fifths here allude to the idea of church bells that sound from the distance, across the ocean. The opening measures, marked pianissimo, introduce us to the first series of rising parallel fifth chords, outlining a pentatonic scale. These chords bring to mind two things: 1) the Eastern pentatonic scale, which Debussy heard during a performance of Javanese gamelan music at the 1889 Universal Exhibition in Paris, and 2) medieval chant music, similar to the organa in parallel fifths from the Musica enchiriadis, a 9th-century treatise on music. The shape of the ascending phrase is perhaps a representation of the cathedral's slow emergence from the water.
After the beginning section, Debussy gently brings the cathedral out of the water by modulating to B major, shaping the melody in a wave-like fashion, and including important narrative instructions in measure 16: Peu à peu sortant de la brume (Emerging from the fog little by little). This shows Debussy at his closest manifestation of musical impressionism. Then, after a section marked Augmentez progressivement (Slowly growing), the cathedral has emerged and the grand organ is heard at a dynamic level of fortissimo (measures 28-41). This is the loudest and most profound part of the piece, and is described in the score as Sonore sans dureté. Following the grand entrance and exit of the organ, the cathedral sinks back down into the ocean (measures 62-66) and the organ is heard once more, but from underwater. To attain these effects that reflect images of the castle, most performers use specific techniques with regards to pedaling and articulation to affect tone color. For example some performers use their full body weight to depress keys to create a rich sound. Also performers create a ringing bell sound by instantly releasing pedaled notes. Finally, the cathedral is gone from sight, and only the bells are heard, at a distant pianissimo.

David Duke first rose to prominence in the ‘70s and ‘80s as a modern, more photogenic representative of the white supremacist movement, abandoning the Ku Klux Klan's robe and hood in favor of business suits and trading overt racist appeals in exchange for more “acceptable” coded language that involved disparaging “welfare queens” and “racial set-asides.”
Duke eventually left the Klan to found the “National Association for the Advancement of White People,” served one term as a Republican in the Louisiana state house, published two books, one on “Racial Understanding” and the other on “Jewish Supremacism,” ran for governor, senator and president, served a 15-month prison sentence for mail fraud and tax evasion, and today is a well-traveled international spokesman bringing attention to what he views as the Zionist conspiracy to run the world.
In this at times combative interview, an increasingly exasperated Cenk Uygur of The Young Turks listens as Duke goes on at great length attempting to substantiate his claims of a purported Jewish control of the media, the entertainment and banking industries and the US government - all while denying the label of anti-semite.
During the few breaks in his harangue, Duke briefly answers questions about:
- Whether he has any sympathy for African-Americans who, like him, claim to be victims of discrimination in the criminal justice system.
- Whether black people are more criminally inclined than white people or are simply targeted for arrest more frequently than whites.
- If MSNBC is run by a secret Irish-American cabal
- If he feels vindicated by the GOP’s adoption of policies he first pioneered, including the drug-testing of welfare recipients
- Whether all his railing against Zionism isn’t simply jealousy at the successes Jews have achieved while his and other white people’s fortunes have continued to dwindle.
Be sure to stay tuned all the way to the end!

http://www.vladtv.com - On this week's episode of "The Vlad Couch," insightful rapper David Banner sat with us to chop it up about social injustices in America and what's he doing to make a change that will impact the Black community.
"One of the reasons why I stopped doing hip-hop - up until just recently - was because I had an opportunity to travel internationally. And I got to see the way that America was depicting Black men here...we looked really bad, and I was a real big part of that." The activist took a hiatus from rap to pursue an acting career, but unfortunately, as director Craig Brewer put it, if you're a dark-skinned Black man over six feet tall you'll only be cast as a thug or other negative characters. "I sat in LA for a year and barely got two auditions because I said I didn't wanna play that role again," Banner recalls, telling directors "I don't want to be your n******."
David Banner also chatted with us about police brutality. He and Vlad both agreed that the rate police officers are killing Black men and children hasn't changed for decades, but social media is bringing light to it more than it ever has before. "The original job for a policeman was to catch escaped slaves and protect the property of slave-owners. And it has not changed," he detested. "The only way you're gonna stop police brutality is if those police's lives are threatened, or if something is gonna happen to their children. Or if something is gonna happen to their jobs, their money [or] their lives."
Listen to our latest podcast to hear how David Banner wants to change hip-hop, shed more light on Southern artists and how he contributes to the Black community with his Heal the Hood Foundation above.

"I'm trying to think of a way so that this will have anything to do with what we've talked about before. Imagine you're a hyper-educated avant-gardist in grad school learning to write. Okay. The screen gets all fuzzy now as the viewer is invited to imagine this. Uhm. Coming out of an avant-garde tradition, I get to this grad school and the grad school, turns out all the teachers are realists. There not at all interested in post-, post-modern avant-garde stuff. Now there's an interesting delusion going on here. They, so they don't like my stuff. I believe that it's not because my stuff isn't good, but because they just don't happen to like this kind of aesthetic. In fact, known to them but unknown to me, the stuff was bad. It was indeed bad. So in the middle of all this, hating the teachers but hating them for exactly the wrong reason, uh -- this was spring of 1986, I remember, I remember who I went to see the movie with -- "Blue Velvet" comes out. Uhm. "Blue Velvet" comes out. "Blue Velvet" is, uhm a type of surrealism. It may have some it may have debts: there's a debt to Hitchcock somewhere; but it is an entirely new and original kind of surrealism. It no more comes out of a previous tradition or the post-modern tech- -- it is completely David Lynch. And I don't know how well you or your viewers would remember the film, but there are some very odd : there's a moment where a guy named the Yellow Man is shot in an apartment and then Jeffrey, uh the main character runs into the apartment. The guy's dead but he's still standing there. There's no explanation, you know, he's just standing there. And it is, it's almost classically French, Francophilistically surreal. Uhm and yet it seems absolutely true and absolutely appropriate.
"And there was this -- I know I'm taking a long time to answer your question -- there was this way in which I all of a sudden realized that the point of being post-modern or being avant-garde or whatever wasn't to follow in a certain kind of tradition: that all that stuff is BS imposed by critics and camp followers afterwards; that what the really great artists do, and it sounds very trite to say it out loud, but what the really great artists do is they're entirely themselves. They're entirely themselves. They've got their own vision, their own way of fracturing reality. And that if it's authentic and true, you will feel it in your nerve endings. And this is what "Blue Velvet" did for me. I'm not suggesting it would do it for any other viewer, but I all of a sudd-- Lynch very much helped snap me out of a kind of adolescent delusion that I was in about what sort of avant-garde art could be. And it's very odd because film and books are very different media. But I remember, I remember going with two poets and one other student fiction writer to go see this and then all of us going to the coffee shop afterwards and just, you know, slapping ourselves in the forehead. And it was this truly epiphanic experience."

"No, it's um ... I mean, there's a difference, though, I think, between being mildly bored and but then there's another kind of boredom that I think you're talking about which is um: reading, reading requires sitting alone, by yourself, in a quiet room. And I have friends, intelligent friends, who don't like to read because they get -- it's not just bored -- there's an almost dread that comes up, I think, here about having to be alone and having to be quiet. And you see that when you walk in. When you walk into most public spaces in America it isn't quiet anymore; they pipe music through. And the music's easy to make fun of 'cause it's usually really horrible music. But it seems significant that we don't want things to be quiet, ever, anymore. And, to me, I don't, I don't know that I can defend it, but that seems to me to have something to do with when you feel like the purpose of your life is to gratify yourself and get things for yourself and go all the time, there's this other part of you that's the same part that can kind of, is almost hungry for silence and quiet and thinking really hard about the same thing for maybe half an hour instead of thirty seconds, that doesn't get fed at all. And it makes itself felt in the body in a kind of dread, in here. And I don't know whether that makes a whole lot of sense. But I think it's true that here in the US, every year the culture gets more and more hostile -- and I don't mean hostile like angry -- just, it becomes more and more difficult to ask people to read, or to look at a piece of art for an hour, or to listen, to listen to a piece of music that's complicated and that takes work to understand, because -- well, there are a lot of reasons -- but, particularly now in the computer and internet culture everything's so fast, and the faster things go the more we feed that part of ourselves but don't feed the part of ourselves that likes, that likes quiet, that can live in quiet, you know, that can live without any kind of stimulation. I don't know."

Project Camelot : In Conversation with David Icke
Sedona, Arizona, February 2009
http://projectcamelot.org/david_icke.html
David Icke, one of the most visible, outspoken and controversial speakers and writers about the Illuminati and the New World Order control agenda, will need practically no introduction to most readers of this page.
We've been in touch with David since November 2006, when Camelot was relatively young. We had an interview arranged then, but David had to cancel due to an emergency; and several later attempts to reschedule it all met with logistical problems. Finally - over two years later! - we caught up with him in Sedona, and were able to sit down for a long conversation with him about his life and his work.
This is not an interview specifically about the information he's researched and presents so lucidly in his famous long presentations, and in his many books - all of which are packed with references, anecdotes and encyclopedic detail. It's more about the man behind his mission; what makes him tick, and what keeps him going; the source of his inner resolve; and, notably - anyone who mistakes David for a doomsayer, take note - his vision for Planet Earth: "The idea that this might not all have a successful outcome", he told us, "Never occurs to me."
David's unflinching and remarkable commitment to his cause has made life far easier for many who have come after him - including ourselves. We owe him our own vote of thanks, and in this two hour FutureTalk we pay tribute to his life's work, and to the man who is still standing after all these years, still marching on that road less traveled, determined to present what he suspects is the truth, whatever it is.

James David Graham Niven (1 March 1910 – 29 July 1983)[1][2] was an English actor and novelist who was popular in Europe and in the United States. He may be best known for his roles as Squadron Leader Peter Carter in A Matter of Life and Death, as Phileas Fogg in Around the World in 80 Days and as Sir Charles Lytton, a.k.a. "the Phantom", in The Pink Panther. He was awarded the Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance in Separate Tables (1958).
Born in London, Niven attended Heatherdown Preparatory School and Stowe before gaining a place at the Royal Military College, Sandhurst. After Sandhurst he was gazetted a lieutenant in the Highland Light Infantry. Having developed an interest in acting, he left the Highland Light Infantry, travelled to Hollywood and had several minor roles in film. He first appeared as an extra in the British film There Goes the Bride (1932). From there, he hired an agent and had several small parts in films from 1933 to 1935, including a non-speaking part in MGM's Mutiny on the Bounty. This brought him to wider attention within the film industry and he was spotted by Samuel Goldwyn. Upon the outbreak of the Second World War, Niven returned to Britain and rejoined the army, being re-commissioned as a lieutenant.
Niven resumed his acting career after his demobilisation, and was voted the second most popular British actor in the 1945 Popularity Poll of British film stars. He appeared in A Matter of Life and Death (1946), The Bishop's Wife (1947) and Enchantment (1948), all of which received critical acclaim. Niven later appeared in The Elusive Pimpernel (1950), The Toast of New Orleans (1950), Happy Go Lovely (1951), Happy Ever After (1954) and Carrington V.C. (1955) before scoring a big success as Phileas Fogg in Michael Todd's production of Around the World in 80 Days. Niven appeared in nearly a hundred films, and many shows for TV. He also began writing books, with considerable commercial success. In 1982 he appeared in Blake Edwards' final "Pink Panther" films Trail of the Pink Panther and Curse of the Pink Panther, reprising his role as Sir Charles Lytton.

Cathedrals is a Christian church which contains the seat of a bishop, thus serving as the central church of a diocese, conference, or episcopate.Although the word "cathedral" is sometimes loosely applied, churches with the function of "cathedral" occur specifically and only in those denominations with an episcopal hierarchy, such as the Roman Catholic, Anglican, Orthodox, and some Lutheran and Methodist churches.[2] In the Greek Orthodox Church, the terms kathedrikos naos (literally: "cathedral shrine") is sometimes used for the church at which an archbishop or "metropolitan" presides. The term "metropolis" (literally "mother city") is used more commonly than "diocese" to signify an area of governance within the church.
The word cathedral is derived from the Latin word cathedra ("seat" or "chair"), and refers to the presence of the bishop's or archbishop's chair or throne. In the ancient world, the chair was the symbol of a teacher and thus of the bishop's role as teacher, and also of an official presiding as a magistrate and thus of the bishop's role in governing a diocese.

Thank You for watching!
God Bless You!
On June 6, 1944, the Allies launched the biggest armada in history to invade the Normandy beaches and liberate Europe from the Nazis. In less than 24 hours, more than 5,000 ships crossed the English Channel, along with thousands of tanks and landing craft and nearly 200,000 men. Throughout the operation, hundreds of ships sank running the gauntlet of mines and bunkers, creating one of the world's largest underwater archaeological sites. Now, NOVA has exclusive access to a unique collaboration between military historians, archaeologists, and specialist divers to carry out the most extensive survey ever done of the seabed bordering the legendary beachheads. Divespace teams, submersibles, and underwater robots will discover and identify key examples of Allied craft that fell victim to German shellfire, mines, and torpedoes, using the latest 3D-mapping tools to plot the relics on the sea floor. Highlighting the ingenious technology that helped the Allies overcome the German defenses, and featuring first-hand accounts from Allied veterans who have returned to the site of this epic battle to share their harrowing stories, "D-Day's Sunken Secrets" unfolds a vivid blow-by-blow account of the tumultuous events of D-Day and reveals how the Allies' intricate planning and advanced technology assured the success of the most ambitious and risky military operation ever launched.

This original longplay record album was released as SP 44005 by London Phase 4 Stereo in 1961, and will forever be part of my personal collection. I ripped its contents for my enjoyment and created this video hoping to share it with others who appreciate hard-to-find and obscure music. Should the current copyright holders require its removal from this site I will comply.
