church of cannabis bill levin interview cnn A new religion glorifying cannabis is officially incorporated in Indiana, and adherents plan to take full advantage of the state’s controversial religious freedom law. That law – the Religious Freedom Restoration Act – generally bans state officials from burdening a person’s exercise of religion, “even if the burden results from a rule of general applicability." Opponents say the law blesses discrimination by business owners against people they dislike, with most news coverage focused on the possible effects on sexual minorities. Bill Levin, founder of the First Church of Cannabis, believes his religion will help restore the state's reputation after an intense bout of bad press. [RELATED: Indiana Republicans Stuck Between Big Business and Religion] “I created the fastest-growing religion in America last week,” Levin tells U.S. News. “I’ve got to cork the leak up that [Indiana Gov. Mike] Pence caused with love." Levin says he and other church members "all smoke religiously" and says supportive attorneys are advising him. He's working to find a facility with a large sanctuary. “We have people who will be pilgriming in from California, from Maine, from Florida,” he says. “I planned this to be a small church of three to five hundred, but the numbers have staggeringly grown.” On Thursday morning, the church had more than 21,000 likes on Facebook. It’s unclear how state officials would react to church worship services, which Levin says will feature a “canna choir” and a band. Indiana does not allow medical or recreational use of marijuana. [POLL: Poll: 70 Percent of Americans Say Smoking Weed Is Not a Sin] Marijuana charges generally are pursued in state courts. But the new religious freedom law says the state cannot “substantially burden a person's exercise of religion” except when the state uses the “least restrictive means of furthering [a] compelling governmental interest.” It’s unclear if officials or courts would deem marijuana prohibition a compelling government interest, or if they would uncritically accept the church members' professions of faith. “Of course I’m going to test this law. I’m not going to test it, I’m going to beat it,” Levin says. “We’re building a church with the cornerstone of love, the way religions are supposed to be built.” Valerie Kroeger, a spokeswoman for the Indiana secretary of state's office, which granted the church's incorporation, says that process conferred no recognition that the group is a religious association. [READ: Religion Makes People Happier — But Why? ] "It basically means they filled out their paperwork properly and they are now a registered business," she says. "There is no approval process or anything," she says, adding: "We don't do religious accreditation at the secretary of state's office." Levin says the church will not grow marijuana for members, but will connect parishioners who bring their own cannabis products. He won’t comment on whether April 20 will become a religious holiday and says the church won’t strictly enforce a religious dogma. Indiana’s religious freedom law is modeled on the federal 1993 Religious Freedom Restoration Act, which passed Congress after the Supreme Court found peyote-using American Indians lacked constitutional protection to violate drug laws. The Indiana law is a response to the recent court-ordered legalization of same-sex marriage and fear businesses will be forced to participate in weddings to which they object.

“In a classic case of “unintended consequences,” the recently signed Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) in Indiana may have opened the door for the establishment of the First Church of Cannabis in the Hoosier State. While Governor Mike Pence (R) was holding a signing ceremony for the bill allowing businesses and individuals to deny services to gays on religious grounds or values, paperwork for the First Church of Cannabis Inc. was being filed with the Secretary of State’s office, reports RTV6.” * Cenk Uygur (http://www.twitter.com/cenkuygur) and Ana Kasparian (http://www.twitter.com/AnaKasparian) break it down on The Young Turks. *Read more here http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2015/03/whoops-indianas-anti-gay-religious-freedom-act-opens-the-door-for-the-first-church-of-cannabis/

"Cenk Uygur (http://www.twitter.com/cenkuygur) host of The Young Turks discusses Indiana lawmakers and their reactions to criticism for their Religious Freedom Law that allows discrimination against anyone on religious grounds. If you ever needed a reason to start a religion and keep everyone else out of your cool secret religion club house now you have exactly what you need; the Religious Freedom Restoration Act that just went on the books in Indiana allows businesses to discriminate against anyone for religious reasons. This law has caused a lot of criticism, especially in the LGBT community but the creators of the law could not care less. Lawmakers in Indiana who supported the law went out of their way to show that they didn't care that the law could discriminate, because that was what they had created the law for in the first place. Indiana is the twentieth state to pass such a law because the United States is huge and has quite a few insane people living there." Should discrimination for religious reasons be a law? World Humanist Congress | Freedom of thought and expression: Forging a 21st century enlightenment Key Challenges to Freedom of Religion or Belief Speakers: Heiner Bielefeldt; Pavan Dhaliwal, Pierre-Arnaud Perrouty | Chair: Roy Brown Session overview: The various human rights that we assert do not just highlight different aspects of a single overall freedom: sometimes they may clash with each other. Can freedom of thought and expression always be reconciled with freedom of religion and belief? Do we always have a right to criticise religion, even if it may sometimes be expedient or polite to keep silent? If so, do believers always have the right to wear religious symbols and dress, which are forms of expression no less than speech? Where does the boundary of freedom of religion lie in the law about employment, about the family, about education? When many Islamic states outlaw “apostasy”, thirteen on pain of death, what power does freedom of religion or belief retain in international affairs? For years the Islamic states tried at the United Nations to make insult to religion a breach of human rights: what is their attitude now after the tide gradually turned against them? What rights does freedom of religion or belief give to the institutions that believers create to serve and represent them? The world still has a fuzzy understanding of freedom of religion or belief – can we make it clear and preserve the spirit of this “orphaned right” in a world rife with renewed religious discord? About the speakers: Heiner Bielefeldt, UN Special Rapporteur on Freedom of Religion or Belief; Pavan Dhaliwal, Head of Public Affairs, British Humanist Association; Pierre-Arnaud Perrouty, Executive Director, European Humanist Federation; Roy Brown (Chair), IHEU representative at UN Human Rights Council, Geneva The World Humanist Congress, held every three years, is a unique event bringing together humanists from over forty countries under the auspices of the International Humanist and Ethical Union. Many of our political discussions today assume that the advocacy of economic freedom and of religion go together, that to be against social security and our tens of thousands of other controls means you must also be against evolution and contraception. As Americans we’re told that our choice is to embrace either superstition and capitalism or science and the modern regulatory-welfare state—and faced with such a choice, many of us understandably choose the latter. In this talk, Onkar Ghate argues that in fact religion undermines freedom and that our real choice is to embrace science and capitalism or the authoritarianism of religion and today’s Big Government. Muslim Minorities and Religious Freedom (Ft. Hamza Yusuf, John Esposito & Robert P. George) How has the persecution of Muslim minorities affected their well-being in Europe and North America, the overall health of Muslim-majority nations, and the growth of violent Islamist extremism? Are Muslim minorities developing theologies that can bolster religious freedom, stable democracy, and economic growth, as well as undermine violent Islamist extremism? This conference explored these questions, featuring four panels of experts as well as a keynote conversation between Professor Robert George of Princeton, Professor John Esposito of Georgetown, and Shaykh Hamza Yusuf of Zaytuna College. This conference was hosted by the Religious Freedom Project, in cooperation with Baylor University's Institute for Studies of Religion. Robert P. Should Christian couples in the UK be barred from fostering children if their religion forbids them to teach the moral acceptance of homosexual practice? All human rights are valuable and worthy of protection, and yet in recent years the right to put religious belief into practice has taken a backseat to the pursuit of other social priorities. Philosopher and Religious Freedom Project scholar Roger Trigg addressed these important and controversial issues as he discussed his new book, Equality, Freedom, and Religion (Oxford, 2012), which raises the question of whether any freedom can be preserved for long if the basic human right to freedom of religious belief and practice is subordinated to other social concerns (particularly to the pursuit of equality). Responding to the book were William Galston, Brookings Institute scholar and former policy advisor to President Clinton, and Helen Alvaré, professor of law at George Mason University and regular commentator on issues of law and religion. Featuring Roger Trigg Roger Trigg is Senior Research Fellow at Kellogg College in the University of Oxford and is Academic Director of the Kellogg Centre for the Study of Religion in Public Life. Since 2007, he has been principal investigator (with Justin Barrett) in a major research project on the cognitive science of religion, based in Oxford. He is Professor Emeritus of Philosophy at the University of Warwick. Trigg has been President of the British Society for Philosophy of Religion (1993-6) and chaired the National Committee for Philosophy (1997-2003) and its successor organization, the British Philosophical Association (2003-4). He was also President of the European Society for Philosophy of Religion from 2008-10. Can you both be right? Can two people with opposite or contradicting views both be right? There are lots of views people hold that are incompatible with others. When we say that everyone free to choose their own beliefs, that is freedom of religion. But, when we say that everyone is right in their beliefs, then we go against all of those beliefs and our own all at the same time. As a Christian, my beliefs are not compatible with many other beliefs. If from this viewpoint, I tell others that they are also right, then I am no longer holding onto my beliefs. Many preach tolerance in terms of acceptance, but in reality it is fear and timidity that are being pushed. Violent assault is the mode of operation for most "discussions" on being tolerant. People want you to be tolerant and accepting of their own beliefs, but as soon as your beliefs differ, then you are oppressed until you change to match theirs. This is not freedom of belief, you can not both be right. Either one is right and the other is wrong, or they are both wrong. The biggest problem is that this push is to prevent you from making a decision and it is not until you make a decision about your beliefs that you can grow in your life.

In 1972, when he was 48, King Abdullah took a 15-year-old Jordanian-born wife, Alanoud Al-Fayez. The marriage was arranged; she was one of 30 wives. In four years, she produced four daughters. Abdullah divorced Alanoud. In 2001, she fled the kingdom, hoping that as a father, Abdullah would treat his own daughters with more kindness. She was wrong. In addition to having a mother who “got away,” these daughters, Sahar, Maha, Hala and Jawaher Al Saud, now in their late 30s and early 40s, dared speak out for women’s rights. Their punishment has been extreme and long-lasting. For 13 years, the unmarried princesses have been confined in pairs, isolated from outside contact — beaten, drugged, deprived of food and water for periods of time, slowly starved, subjected to heat without air-conditioning in the desert clime. According to their mother’s account, and to a video that Sahar and Jawaher smuggled out, the princesses claim that their “half-brothers beat them with sticks” and “yell at us and tell us we will die here.” Sahar also told The Post, “My father said that after his death, our brothers would continue to detain us and abuse us.” (The London-based Alanoud maintains a Twitter account: @Freethe4.) It’s not just princesses who are at risk in the kingdom. Allegedly disobedient women at every social level are beaten daily, shunned, honor-killed or sometimes sentenced to solitary confinement in padded cells for the rest of their lives. No relative dares visit. Please recall: In 1977, Princess Misha’al bint Fahd al-Saud tried to flee the kingdom in order to marry a man of her choosing. Such liberty is considered criminal adultery; as a merciful gesture, both the princess and her prospective husband were shot to death in public, rather than beheaded. In 1990, 47 brave Saudi women drove their cars in Riyadh, to demand the right to drive. They were quickly detained, roundly condemned, their passports confiscated — and, they were fired from their jobs. When I was held captive in Kabul by my own family long ago, US embassy personnel would not help me. Once my American passport was taken, I instantly became the citizen of no country and the literal property of a wealthy, polygamous, Afghan family. This experience, which I write about in “An American Bride in Kabul,” turned me into a lifelong advocate for women’s lives. The battle for women’s rights is central to the battle for Western values. Session Five: Thursday 19 February 2015, 6pm-8pm ‘Freedom of religion vs the right to be free from sexual orientation discrimination – clashing rights?’ Laura Prince (Matrix Chambers) and Dr Erica Howard (Middlesex University) Is there a conflict between freedom of religion and the right to be free from sexual orientation discrimination or can these rights be reconciled? In Eweida and Others v UK, two of the applicants refused to work with same sex couples because they believed homosexuality was against God’s law. Should such objections be accommodated in the workplace? Both ECHR and EU case law will be discussed. Human Rights Practice Short Course: This course will focus on the latest developments and emerging issues in European and International Human Rights practice: themes and systems, law and practice. It is a collaborative course between Middlesex University School of Law, Matrix Chambers and The Law Society, who will host each session. Laura Prince from Matrix Chambers is an employment and discrimination law specialist, regularly appearing in the employment tribunals, the Employment Appeal Tribunal and the Court of Appeal in all areas of employment law. Laura is recommended in Chambers & Partners as having particular “expertise in handling complex TUPE and equal pay matters”. Chambers and Partners 2014 also states that “her calm, intelligent and measured approach to all cases and requests for advice is a great legal and commercial asset to any company”. Dr. Erica Howard is Associate Professor of Law at Middlesex University, London. She obtained her PhD in European discrimination law, with a special focus on race discrimination, at the University of London. She has conducted extensive research in the area of freedom of religion, religious discrimination and other forms of discrimination, including multiple discrimination. She has published a book - Law and the Wearing of Religious Symbols: European Bans on the Wearing of Religious Symbols in Education - and a number of articles on these subjects. Dr Howard’s recent research includes the reasonable accommodation of religion and belief in the work place and the clash between religious freedom and sexual orientation discrimination. She has also published some blogs on recent decisions of the European Court of Human Rights on the European Journal of International Law (EJIL-talk) website.
"Thank you that we have had church [at the Georgia State Capitol] again. I want you to know, I hope this is not the second and the last service we will have. I hope this is something that we're going to get used to doing as the State House becomes more like the church house. Amen? Amen." -Mike Griffin at Georgia religious "freedom" rally at Georgia State Capitol, March 3, 2015
stop stalking me you crazy old bitch.
This channel is dedicated to the harvesting of ALL of world history mathematically for the Glory of Jesus Christ. There is a sister channel called, "Jesus Christ" with over 2500 videos on this subject already. We harvest all of world history for the mathematical glory of the Triune God (God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and The Holy Ghost), for the Glory of God. God is Sovereign. And He has ordained NUMBERS to be the mechanism by which He takes the glory for EVERYTHING in world history. Here is how this works: A = 1, B = 2, C = 3... Z = 26 And you find: JESUS = MESSIAH = GOSPEL = CROSS = THE KING ...by Divine Ordinance. And Grade 1 children can do the math. You add up the numbers from left to right and see the Glory of God. This is THE MOST exciting area of Research in the history of the world. My Journey in this began when I found that JESUS = 888 in Greek. That is-- the numbers of the name of Jesus in Greek add perfectly to 888. And God has been doing this over all of world history since the dawn of Eden. So this channel is dedicated to the Glory of Jesus Christ and the One True Triune God Who Created all things-- and takes the Glory for all things-- using numbers. This teaching can get into all of our schools-- Grade 1 children can do the math. God has ordained ALL languages to be mathematically designed to glorify Him in their own unique way. My journey in this began with HEBREW and GREEK in findings in the Holy Scriptures, and then the Lord called me into ENGLISH and the LATIN languages. Because God is Sovereign over world history, He has made sure that all of these languages maximally point to HIM in the most beautiful and astonishing ways-- using numbers. For example, do the math on the truth: GOD IS LOVE. GOD IS = 54 LOVE = 54 They both equal the same thing. And Grade 1 children can do the math. The whole thing adds to the same value as WORSHIP = 108! This is the tiniest of the 100,000,000,000's that God has placed like GOLD all through the storybooks of World History!!! HISTORY = HIS STORY!!! But it is NUMBERS that God has chosen to be the unifying factor amongst all the languages and stories of world history. From dates, to times, to names, and places-- everything has a number, and everything is playing out PERFECTLY according to God's Sovereign will to MAXIMALLY glorify Himself at all times. Do the math on this truth: GOD IS SOVEREIGN. = 168 = 24 x 7 = 888 888 888 888 888 888 888 (A seven-fold set of Triple-8's!) Consider this: HOLY = PURE = WORD = PRAY = BELIEVE = DESIRE All bear the number 3 because God is 3 People: God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and The Holy Ghost. They all equal 60 exactly... one of God's favourite numbers to glorify the Number 3. Does Jesus own every School and Cathedral and Ambulance and all Money and all the World? Yes He does: Because: SCHOOL = CATHEDRAL = AMBULANCE = MONEY = WORLD = 72 = 8 x 9 = 888 888 888 (A Triple of Triple-8's!) And that's How He does it, my friends. That's HOW Jesus takes the Glory for everything in World History-- including people, and the names of people. NEIL ARMSTRONG = 201 (First man on the moon.) WALT DISNEY = 201 (Founder of Disneyland.) CHUCK YEAGER = 201 (First man to fly faster than the speed of sound.) HEITOR DA SILVA COSTA = 201 (Designer of the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio De Janeiro.) ...And on and on the story goes. Century over century, year over year, the plan is playing out EXACTLY according to God's plan for His Mathematical Pleasure. So WATCH-- and FIND GEMS yourself! Join the hunt! See the glory of God! LOVE = SUN = BREATH = HEALTH! And on the glory comes! Jesus takes the Glory for every word in the universe, for all time-- using numbers. AMEN = 33. NAME = 33. THE = 33. BANANA = 33. And on and on the Joy comes to the Glory of The Triune God Who IS Love and IS Three Persons!!! Do the math on this one: GOD IS THREE PERSONS. You'll love it! Watch some REAL TRUTH that feeds your SOUL and LOVE for God!!! Never forget that SNOW in Hebrew = 333 perfectly. And every flake is pure Threes branching outward. Let the River Flow. Do the math on that one-- it divides by 3! LET THE RIVER FLOW! And then you can count the number of letters and strokes, and that is also significant. We have computers by God's design to do this work. COMPUTER = 111. Pure Threes!!! To the Glory of The Triune God. Do the math on that phrase-- it divides by 3 also! AMEN = 33!!! HALLELUJAH divides by 3!! Keep going kids!! Keep going!! THE RACE IS ON!!!! That divides by 3! GLORY TO GOD!!! That divides by 3!

Business Day 2015-01-27Freedom of religion is a principle that supports the freedom of an individual or community, in public or private, to manifest religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship, and observance; the concept is generally recognized also to include the freedom to change religion or not to follow any religion. The freedom to leave or discontinue membership in a religion or religious group —in religious terms called "apostasy" —is also a fundamental part of religious freedom, covered by Article 18 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Freedom of religion is considered by many people and nations to be a fundamental human right.
In a country with a state religion, freedom of religion is generally considered to mean that the government permits religious practices of other sects besides the state religion, and does not persecute believers in other faiths.
Historically freedom of religion has been used to refer to the tolerance of different theological systems of belief, while freedom of worship has been defined as freedom of individual action. Each of these have existed to varying degrees. While many countries have accepted some form of religious freedom, this has also often been limited in practice through punitive taxation, repressive social legislation, and political disenfranchisement. Compare examples of individual freedom in Italy or the Muslim tradition of dhimmis, literally "protected individuals" professing an officially tolerated non-Muslim religion.
Christopher Eric Hitchens (13 April 1949 – 15 December 2011) was an English American author and journalist whose career spanned more than four decades. Hitchens, often referred to colloquially as "Hitch", was a columnist and literary critic for New Statesman, The Atlantic, The Nation, The Daily Mirror, The Times Literary Supplement and Vanity Fair. He was an author of twelve books and five collections of essays. As a staple of talk shows and lecture circuits, he was a prominent public intellectual, and his confrontational style of debate made him both a lauded and controversial figure.
Hitchens was known for his admiration of George Orwell, Thomas Paine and Thomas Jefferson, as well as for his excoriating critiques of various public figures including Mother Teresa, Bill Clinton, Henry Kissinger and Diana, Princess of Wales. Although he supported the Falklands War, his key split from the established political left began in 1989 after what he called the "tepid reaction" of the Western left to the Rushdie Affair. The September 11 attacks strengthened his internationalist embrace of an interventionist foreign policy, and his vociferous criticism of what he called "fascism with an Islamic face." His numerous editorials in support of the Iraq War caused some to label him a neoconservative, although Hitchens insisted he was not "a conservative of any kind", and his friend Ian McEwan describes him as representing the anti-totalitarian left.
James Richard "Rick" Perry (born March 4, 1950) is the 47th and current Governor of Texas. Perry, a Republican, was elected Lieutenant Governor of Texas in 1998 and assumed the governorship in December 2000 when then-governor George W. Bush resigned to become President of the United States. Perry was elected to full gubernatorial terms in 2002, 2006 and 2010. With a tenure in office to date of &1000000000000001100000011 years, &10000000000000188000000188 days, Perry is the longest continuously serving current U.S. governor, and the second longest serving current U.S. governor—after Terry Branstad of Iowa. Perry served as Chairman of the Republican Governors Association in 2008 (succeeding Sonny Perdue of Georgia) and again in 2011. Perry is the longest serving governor in Texas state history. As a result, he is the only governor in modern Texas history to have appointed at least one person to every eligible state office, board, or commission position (as well as to several elected offices to which the governor can appoint someone to fill an unexpired term, such as six of the nine current members of the Texas Supreme Court).
