iTunes U courses let teachers give each class a customised learning experience. Teachers can create and manage their course and students can experience it all from the iTunes U app on iPad.
Assignments, materials and study notes all work together in the iTunes U app to keep students prepared for class and engaged in learning.
Students can see homework assignments with due dates for all their
courses from the Home screen.
They can keep track of assignments by checking those they’ve completed.
Students can access resources and materials at any time.
Students can take notes on assigned videos and books, or even during
lectures right there within the iTunes U app.
All of the notes are compiled in one place for each course.
Relevant lessons.
With iTunes U courses, you can add to and update your course at any time so your lessons stay relevant. And automatic push notifications get sent through the app to keep students informed of changes and updates.
Anytime access.
The iTunes U app lets students enrol in a course and download all of the materials they need when they are connected to Wi-Fi — which means learning and studying can happen anywhere, at any time, with just an iPad.
No matter where in the world you teach, or what grade level, iTunes U courses let you teach a topic the way you know works best for your students.
To add content to your course, start by creating a post. It can be just a
message, or can also include an assignment with attached materials.
When you add materials, you can link directly to a chapter in a
book, or a specific start and stop time in a video.
Once you submit a new post, it’s added to the topic you
selected from your outline.
Add apps, videos, books and your own existing
materials to your course.
Search content across all of iTunes straight from the app.
Upload anything you can access from your Camera Roll.
Or add documents directly from Pages, Numbers, Keynote and
other apps with the Open in Another App feature.
When you create a private course, Discussions let you and the entire
class continue conversations or ask new questions outside class time.
Work together.
Teachers can collaborate on course creation, management and enrolment with up to five course contributors — like department leads, teaching assistants or curriculum developers. You can also transfer your current course to another teacher, complete with the existing student enrolment. Or just offer inspiration by sharing a copy of your course — the outline, posts, assignments and materials — to help others get started.
