The fishing boat, carrying about 350 people of the Muslim Rohingya minority, has been refused entry to Thailand. Those on board told the BBC the crew abandoned them and disabled the engine. They said the bodies of those who had died were thrown overboard. Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand have been turning away migrant boats. Several thousand people are still believed to be stuck in boats off the coasts of Thailand and Malaysia. Most are Rohingya Muslims who cannot go back to Myanmar, also known as Burma, where they are not recognised as citizens of the country and are regularly persecuted. The BBC's Jonathan Head reports from alongside the vessel off the southern coast of Thailand, off Koh Lipe, that it is a "desperate sight". He said: "People are calling out to us begging us for food and water. "There are a lot of women and children on board. This is a very old-looking fishing boat that's completely packed with people. "We can see there are actually people drinking their own urine from bottles. We've been throwing them bottles of water - everything we've got on board." Burundi coup bid: President Nkurunziza's return 'thwarted' For more Latest and Breaking News Headlines SUBSCRIBE to https://www.youtube.com/user/24X7BreakingNEWS Burundi President Pierre Nkurunziza has been unable to return home following reports that a coup was taking place while he was out of the country. Mr Nkurunziza flew back from a summit in Tanzania, but the airport had been closed to stop him from landing. His plane reportedly returned to Tanzania. Heavy fighting has been taking place overnight between soldiers loyal to the president and those who back the coup. Confusion remains as to whether the coup has been successful or not. The coup was announced by Maj Gen Godefroid Niyombare, a former intelligence chief and ally of the president who was dismissed in February, after Mr Nkurunziza left for Tanzania on Wednesday. Thousands of people took to the streets to celebrate the announcement. What's behind the coup bid? But overnight, army chief of staff Gen Prime Niyongabo - a supporter of the president - announced: "The attempted coup... has been stopped." His announcement came after a night of negotiations between Gen Niyongabo and the defence minister, who backs the coup, reports the BBC's Maud Jullien from Bujumbura. But there appears to be little sign of that agreement within the armed forces itself. Factions loyal to each side began fighting each other for control of the national television and radio station, witnesses said. There has been mounting unrest in Burundi since President Nkurunziza, who came to power in 2005, announced he was seeking a third term in office - apparently in contravention of the constitution.

STATE OF EMERGENCY DECLARED The Nepal government has declared a state of emergency in the affected districts and appealed for international humanitarian assistance. Kathmandu Valley and surrounding districts are worst affected, According to the Deputy Prime Minister Bamdev Gautam Aftershocks of equal magnitudes are still causing more damage. The death toll in Nepal’s earthquake could reach 10,000, Prime Minister Sushil Koirala has said, as survivors’ despair turned to anger at the government’s slow response to the humanitarian crisis unfolding in the country, with food, water and other essentials in desperately short supply. “The government is doing all it can for rescue and relief on a war footing,” Koirala said in an interview with Reuters. “It is a challenge and a very difficult hour for Nepal.” The death toll in Nepal alone rose to 4,352 on Tuesday, with more than 8,000 injured, according to police, amid warnings the full extent of the tragedy would not be known until rescue teams had reached “flattened” villages in remote regions. A military coup against President Pierre Nkurunziza of Burundi sent shock waves at the East African Community headquarters in Arusha, Tanzania. News of the coup trickled in as members of the East African Legislative Assembly were in session. Now there are questions whether Burundi can remain a member of the Community and whether the nine members of EALA from Burundi can still hold their seats in the regional assembly under the circumstances. NTV’s Francis Jjingo has that report from Arusha.

Police said that Malaysia detained 1,018 Bangladeshi and Rohingya refugees after they arrived in three boats on Monday, a day after Indonesian authorities rescued 600 stranded off the coast of Aceh. More than 100,000 stateless Rohingya Muslims have fled violence and poverty in Myanmar since 2012. Most travel in traffickers\' boats to Thailand, where they are held by traffickers in squalid jungle camps before a ransom is paid. Some 555 Bangladeshis and 463 Rohingya, including 99 women and 54 children, landed illegally and would be handed to the immigration department.

On May 28, 2008, Adam LeWinter and Director Jeff Orlowski filmed a historic breakup at the Ilulissat Glacier in Western Greenland. The calving event lasted for 75 minutes and the glacier retreated a full mile across a calving face three miles wide. The height of the ice is about 3,000 feet, 300-400 feet above water and the rest below water.

Chasing Ice won the award for Excellence in Cinematography at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival and the Best Documentary from the International Press Association. It has won over 30 awards at festivals worldwide. Still playing in theaters worldwide.

STATE OF EMERGENCY DECLARED

The Nepal government has declared a state of
emergency in the affected districts and appealed for
international humanitarian assistance. Kathmandu
Valley and surrounding districts are worst affected,
According to the Deputy Prime Minister Bamdev Gautam

Aftershocks of equal magnitudes are still causing more damage.

“It is a challenge and a very difficult hour for Nepal.”

The death toll in Nepal alone rose to 4,352 on Tuesday, with more than 8,000 injured, according to police, amid warnings the full extent of the tragedy would not be known until rescue teams had reached “flattened” villages in remote regions.
Kindly share and spread the awareness.

This video demonstrates how warm water in the central Pacific can influence prevailing pressure and precipitation patterns across the ocean basin. These atmospheric disturbances influence the average position of the Jet Stream. In turn, the jet alters temperature and precipitation patterns in the United States.
