The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement is an international humanitarian movement with approximately 97 million volunteers, members and staff worldwide which was founded to protect human life and health, to ensure respect for all human beings, and to prevent and alleviate human suffering, without any discrimination based on nationality, race, sex, religious beliefs, class or political opinions[citation needed].
The movement consists of several distinct organizations that are legally independent from each other, but are united within the movement through common basic principles, objectives, symbols, statutes and governing organisations. The movement's parts are:
Until the middle of the 19th century, there were no organized and/or well-established army nursing systems for casualties and no safe and protected institutions to accommodate and treat those who were wounded on the battlefield. In June 1859, the Swiss businessman Jean-Henri Dunant traveled to Italy to meet French emperor Napoléon III with the intention of discussing difficulties in conducting business in Algeria, at that time occupied by France. When he arrived in the small town of Solferino on the evening of June 24, he witnessed the Battle of Solferino, an engagement in the Austro-Sardinian War. In a single day, about 40,000 soldiers on both sides died or were left wounded on the field. Jean-Henri Dunant was a shocked by the terrible aftermath of the battle, the suffering of the wounded soldiers, and the near-total lack of medical attendance and basic care. He completely abandoned the original intent of his trip and for several days he devoted himself to helping with the treatment and care for the wounded. He succeeded in organizing an overwhelming level of relief assistance by motivating the local villagers to aid without discrimination.

Charlie is placed into a world where she begins being an actress, then becomes a spy, then is trained by the Palestinians as a guerrilla and finally is sent to deliver a bomb. Marty Kurtz: Where would you have us go Charlie? Maybe you would prefer us to take a piece of Central Africa or Uruguay? Not Egypt, thank you, we tried that once and it was not a success. Or back to the ghettos?
Charlie: So I lied, that only makes us even. I don't see what it has to do with my politics.::Joseph: Possibly they're as much a lie as your past.
Charlie: God damn it, I believe in things. I believe in helping end the suffering.
Joseph: What have you done really? Gotten yourself filmed in one demonstration or another in Trafalgar square? You even made the evening news when you sat on a road in front of a bus and read aloud from Che Guevara. Tell us what you've done besides talk. Not a thing.
Marty Kurtz: I trust you will not immediately foam at the mouth if I add that we are also Israeli citizens.::Charlie: Israelis?::Marty Kurtz: Unless it's your conviction that Israel should be swept into the sea. Is that your conviction Charlie?::Charlie: Israelis, huh?::Marty Kurtz: Do you feel you are among enemies here?::Charlie: Oh Christ, I don't know what gives you that idea! Oh no, anyone who kidnaps me is a friend for LIFE!

Help me, please help me, I'm a victim of disaster
My life has just been ripped apart in seconds only faster
I lost all hope I lost myself I lost my family too
So if there's a search and rescue will they find me soon
Burnin I'm burnin I just can't get out
Will someone please tell me what this is all about
I gave my time I gave my money, gave almost everything
So why do bad things happen to good people like me
Red cross will you save me (4x)
Dreamin I'm dreamin will someone wake me up
This nightmare can't be real and I ain't givin up
I need some help, I need some faith
I need the cold hard truth
So if I'm here tomorrow will I be covered too
Learnin' I'm learnin' just who is there for me
He came and died and bled forever I am free
He covered me, he saved me and washed away my sins
