Yorgo Voyagis

Yorgo Voyagis (Greek: Γιώργος Βογιατζής [ˈʝorɣos voʝaˈd͡zis]) (born 6 December 1945 in Athens, Greece), is a Greek actor. He can be seen by many names in the credits of films like George Voyadjis or Yorgo Voyatzis.

Career as an actor

Voyagis' film debut was in Michael Cacoyannis's Zorba the Greek (1964). He reappeared three years later in the Italian western Killer Kid.

Voyagis then starred in the film Chronicle of the Years of Fire by Mohammed Lakhdar-Hamina (1975). In The Ballad of Mamluk Abdelhafidh Bouassida (1982), he played the titular role alongside Bekim Fehmiu and Irene Papas. He also played Joseph alongside Olivia Husey (Mary) in Franco Zeffereli's TV Production of Jesus of Nazareth in 1977 in which he powerfully portrayed a strong yet humble Man.

In the following years, his career was divided between television and film, from one country to another: from the French series X with Capt. Pierre Malet; the film The Little Drummer Girl by George Roy Hill, opposite Diane Keaton; an episode of Miami Vice; and the movie Julia and Julia by Peter Del Monte, with Kathleen Turner. After a role alongside Klaus Kinski and Harvey Keitel, Voyagis played the kidnapper in Frantic by Roman Polanski. The same year, he appeared in the series The Fortunate Pilgrim by Mario Puzo, with Sophia Loren in dispensing head. The actor found Kinski in Nosferatu in Venice and Venice in Rosso veneziano to Etienne Perier, in 1989, he also appeared in an episode of the American television series China Beach.

Dino Risi

Dino Risi (23 December 1916 – 7 June 2008) was an Italian film director. With Mario Monicelli, Luigi Comencini, Nanni Loy and Ettore Scola, he was one of the masters of Commedia all'italiana. He was born in Milan.

He had two brothers, an older brother, Fernando, a cinematographer and a younger brother, Nelo (1920-2015) a director and writer. At the age of twelve, Risi became an orphan and was looked after by relatives and friends of his family. He studied medicine and later became a psychiatrist.

Risi started his career in cinema as an assistant director to cinema figures such as Mario Soldati and Alberto Lattuada. Later he began directing his own films and was credited with giving early opportunities to future acting stars such as Sophia Loren and Vittorio Gassman. His 1966 film Treasure of San Gennaro was entered into the 5th Moscow International Film Festival where it won a Silver Prize.

His biggest hits were Poor, But Handsome (Poveri ma belli), followed by two sequels, which he also directed; A Difficult Life (Una vita difficile); The Easy Life (Il sorpasso); Opiate '67 or, in a cut version, 15 From Rome (I Mostri); and Scent Of A Woman (Profumo di Donna), which was remade by Martin Brest starring Al Pacino in 1992.

All by Myself

"All by Myself" is a power ballad by American artist Eric Carmen released in 1975. The verse is based on the second movement (Adagio sostenuto) of Sergei Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor, Opus 18. The chorus is borrowed from the song "Let's Pretend", that Carmen had recorded with the Raspberries in 1972.

The song was the first released on Carmen's first solo LP after leaving the power pop group the Raspberries and was released as the first single in December 1975, to great acclaim. It reached number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, number 1 on Cash Box Top 100 Singles and number 3 in Canada. The single sold more than one million copies in the United States and was certified gold by the RIAA in April 1976. "All By Myself" was Carmen's first of eight U.S. Top 40 hits. In the UK, however, this was his only Top 40 success, peaking at number 12. In a 2006 poll for UK's Five programme Britain's Favourite Break-up Songs, Eric Carmen's version of this song was voted seventeenth.

Ornella Muti

Ornella Muti (born 9 March 1955) is an Italian actress.

Early life

She was born in Rome as Francesca Romana Rivelli, to a Neapolitan father and Ilse Renata Krause, a Baltic German from Estonia. Her maternal grandparents emigrated from Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg, Russia) to Estonia. She has an older sister, Claudia (born 1950).

Career

Muti modeled as a teenager and made her film debut in 1970 in La moglie più bella (aka The Most Beautiful Wife). She has primarily worked in Italian films but she made her English-speaking film debut as Princess Aura in Flash Gordon in 1980. American movies she appeared in include Love and Money (1982), Casanova (1987), Wait Until Spring, Bandini (1989), A Season of Giants (1990), Oscar (1991), Once Upon a Crime (1992), Somewhere in the City (1998) and To Rome with Love (2012).

She is mostly known to the French for appearing in a television commercial of Giovanni Panzani pasta. She was voted "The Most Beautiful Woman in the World" in 1994 by a worldwide poll of readers of the magazine Class.

I nuovi mostri (English-language version: Viva l'Italia!; meaning of Italian original title: "The new monsters") is a 1977 commedia all'italiana film composed by 14 episodes, directed by Dino Risi, Ettore Scola and Mario Monicelli. It is a sequel of I mostri, made in 1963. It was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film at the 51st Academy Awards.

Plot

The film, like the previous one, consists of short episodes that portray the evil and meanness of Italian middle-class society during the years of lead in the 70s.

A young priest is the head of the protest: the theme is the corruption of the Church. The bishop goes into the church and is immediately opposed by Protestants; but he by his eloquence slowly manages to deceive the weak minds of the Protestants, who make peace with Christ and the Church in general. The young priest, aware of not being able to "modernize" the thought of those people to Christ, curses Italians and goes away.

Ο υπότιτλος με δυσκόλεψε κάπως, το αρχείο πολλές φορές δεν είχε καλό ήχο, διότι η ταινία προς το παρών δεν έχει κυκλοφορήσει σε κάποια HD έκδοση, και υπάρχει μόνο μια αρκετά καλή κόπια για να πώ την αλήθεια, απο VHS ριπαρισμένη. Επίσης βρήκα υπότιτλους απο Πορτογαλικό σκρίπ, και έγινε όλη η δουλειά κυρίως ακουστικά. Είναι όμως μια αρκετά καλή ταινία (άποψη μου) με πολύ ωραία ατμόσφαιρα, και άρωμα Βενετίας !!!

Carmen thought that Rachmaninoff's music was in the public domain and no copyright existed on it. Subsequent to the release of the album, he was contacted by the Rachmaninoff estate and informed otherwise. An agreement was reached in which the estate would receive 12 percent of the royalties from "All by Myself" as well as from "Never Gonna Fall in Love Again", which was based on the third movement from Rachmaninoff's Symphony No. 2. Carmen has stated that he also incorporated part of another melody into this song. The melody was taken from his previous hit with the Raspberries, "Let's Pretend." Carmen's original version has spawned numerous cover versions by such artists as Rico J. Puno in 1976, Celine Dion in 1996, Frank Sinatra, Igudesman & Joo, Il Divo, and Only Men Aloud!. On his second solo LP, Boats Against the Current, Carmen had a subsequent Top 40 hit entitled "She Did It" which was the antithesis of "All by Myself." It is a happy answer to the loneliness and lovelessness described in this song and its equally melancholy follow-up, "Never Gonna Fall in Love Again." The Carmen version is used in the video introduction for Conan O'Brien's "Legally Prohibited from Being Funny on Television Tour", when an obese and bearded version of the talk show host struggles to cope with losing his job as host of Tonight Show. The Carmen version is also featured in the second season's episode 17 of the popular 1990s sitcom Friends (set on Joey & Chandler's friendship), and a season 4 episode of the hit sitcom That '70s Show. It was also featured in the film Under Wraps. The version is used also in the film I nuovi mostri directed by Dino Risi, with Ornella Muti and Yorgo Voyagis. In the Disney film Zootopia, a snippet is heard of it as the main character, Judy Hopps browses through one depressing song after another on her clock radio. Sans paroles (Réalisation : Dino Risi) Les Nouveaux Monstres (I Nuovi mostri) est un film italien composé de 12 sketchs (14 dans la version originale) réalisés par Mario Monicelli, Dino Risi et Ettore Scola, sorti le 15 décembre 1977. Avec Ornella Muti, Yorgo Voyagis Les Nouveaux Monstres présente une douzaine de tableaux sombres et amers, qui mettent en scène l’évolution de la société dans des situations encore plus immorales que dans Les Monstres de 1963. La version italienne comporte deux tableaux supplémentaires inédits en France, intitulés Il Sospetto et Con i saluti degli amici. Les intellectuels, l'Église, la domination masculine continuent à être les cibles favorites de Dino Risi. Il s'agit de rendre compte de la désillusion ambiante. Dans ce second film, la brutalité et la crudité atteignent de nouveaux sommets. Ce long métrage dénonce l’hypocrisie, le sexisme et l’Église. Pour aborder ces sujets délicats, Dino Risi utilise la comédie qui a valeur morale. Grâce à ce ton de comédie, la dénonciation est comme prise à la légère, et le film rendu moins rébarbatif. La comédie permet surtout aux spectateurs de prendre du recul et rend la critique sociale encore plus pertinente. Ce sentiment se ressent particulièrement à la fin du film.
