Plot
Leith - an obsessed transvestite has been involved in a fifteen year relationship with her lover, jelly and Jelly's dead mother, whose spirit inhabits a large fig tree in their garden beneath which Jelly's placenta is buried. Consumed by jealousy for the mother, and by a primordial urge to possess Jelly - a slippery and seemingly passive drama lecturer - Leith's world is cracked wide open by the arrival of Jelly's student - the exotic beauty, Hart Sommerstein. Later when Jelly arrives home, she accuses him of having an affair. In a shattering confrontation, they spill the horror of their relationship, and in her frenzy to destroy the mother's dominance, Leith slays the tree with an ax, which unexpectedly frees Jelly.

Leith ( /ˈliːθ/ LEETH; Scottish Gaelic: Lìte) is a district and former municipal burgh to the north of the city of Edinburgh at the mouth of the Water of Leith in Scotland. It has long been regarded as Edinburgh's port. It lies on the south shore of the Firth of Forth, in the unitary local authority of the City of Edinburgh.
First referred to in the charter authorising the construction of Holyrood Abbey, Leith officially became Edinburgh's port in 1329 when Robert I transferred control to the magistrates and citizens of Edinburgh. It remains a busy port, handling over 1.5 million tonnes of cargo a year.
Up until the late 16th century Leith (originally designated Inverleith, i.e. the mouth of the Water of Leith, on early maps), comprised two separate towns on either side of the river.
South Leith was the larger, coming under the jurisdiction of St. Cuthbert's parish in Edinburgh. It was based on trade and had many merchants' houses and warehouses. This was where ships offloaded their cargoes at the Shore where they were collected by Edinburgh merchants.
Craig Cobb (born on 9 October 1951 in Maryville, Missouri, United States), also known as Craig "corn on the" Cobb, is a longtime anti-semitic white supremacist activist who operated a now-defunct video sharing website named Podblanc. He claims "racism is my religion" and advocates "racial holy war" in accordance with the tenets of The Creativity Movement. Cobb gained notoriety within anti-racist and anti-fascist movements and legal advocacy organizations that investigate hate speech and hate crime for his "celebration of violence and murder committed against minorities" as documented in his videorecordings, online activities, and disruptions at public events. For this same reason he is admired by some, but not all, neo-Nazis. Supporters herald him as a "brave, dedicated, and highly effective White activist" while others consider him a "pseudo-Nazi" and agent provocateur whose website is a "false front dedicated to data-mining".
Cobb is reported to have grown up in a wealthy family and attended a private school in Boston, Massachusetts where he graduated in 1968. After serving in the armed forces he moved to Edmonton, Canada for five years then relocated to Hawaii where he lived for another 25 years and earned a living as a taxi driver. In 2003 he relocated to Frost, West Virginia where he opened a grocery store and subsequently registered a business called "Gray’s Store, Aryan Autographs and 14 Words, L.L.C." During this time he was involved in unsolicited inter-state deliveries of a neo-Nazi newspaper published by Alex Linder, distribution of Project Schoolyard CDs to local children, and attended an invitation-only leadership conference of the National Alliance.
The Proclaimers are a Scottish band composed of identical twin brothers, Charlie and Craig Reid. They are probably best known for the songs "Letter from America", "I'm On My Way" and "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)". The band tours extensively throughout Europe and other continents. They have released nine studio albums from 1987 until the present, as well as two compilation albums and a DVD.
In 2011, the band scored history in Scotland when two of their tracks, "Sunshine on Leith" and "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)" were featured on Scotland's Greatest Album (2011).
Craig Reid and Charlie Reid were born in Leith in 1962, and grew up in Edinburgh, Cornwall and Auchtermuchty. When they stayed in Auchtermuchty they attended Bell Baxter High School. After several punk rock bands at school they formed The Proclaimers in 1983.
The pair came to public attention when an Inverness based fan sent their demo to the British band The Housemartins, who were impressed enough to invite The Proclaimers on their 1986 UK tour. The exposure of the tour won them a January 1987 appearance on the British pop music television programme The Tube on Channel Four; "Letter from America" peaked at number 3 in the UK Singles Chart, whilst the album This is the Story went gold. The follow-up album Sunshine on Leith featured "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)" and "I'm On My Way". They had a hit with their EP King of the Road, which reached number 9 in UK in 1990.
Lethe
Give me the drink of the fluid
That disintegrates
And lend me the sweet balm and blessing
Of forgetfulness, empty and strong
Hold me near, unravel the stars
As I speed through the heavens
Speed through the night
For you are my blade and my rope
Your are my
Lethe
In currents of cobalt
You storm through my heart
To sever, to puncture
The memories that burn
Let sweep through the arteries
In sharp stabs of pain
Your talonlike fingers to kill me again
Steal me, invade me and charge me again
For I burn and I shudder
Burn with each movement of
So, cleansed through a floodlight
I appear; reforged and renewed
Caressed by the sweet balm and blessing
Of forgetfulness, empty and strong
Lethe,
Hold me near, my one friend and guide
As I drown through your fingers
Drown through your love
For you are the life I hate
You are my
Lethe
Drag me down, in passionate sighs
With the ocean above me
And flames in my eyes
And grant me a life I can live
Lethe,
Give me to drink of the fluid that disintegrates
And lend me the sweet balm and blessing
Of forgetfulness, empty and strong
Hold me near, unravel the stars
As I speed through the heavens,
I speed through the night
For you are my blade and my rope
You are my Lethe
(You are my all)
In currents of cobalt you storm through my heart
To sever, to puncture the memories that burn
Let sweep through the arteries in sharp stabs of pain
Your talon-like fingers to kill me again
Steal me, invade me, and charge me again
(And again, and again, and again)
For I burn and I shudder
Burn with each movement of
So, cleansed through a floodlight
I appear, renewed and reforged
Caressed by the sweet balm and blessing
Of forgetfulness, empty and strong
Lethe,
Hold me near, my one friend and guide
As I drown through your fingers,
Drown through your love
For you are the life that I hate
You are my, you are my...
Drag me down in passionate sighs
With the ocean above me and flames in my eyes
And grant my a life I can live
Without...
Take me away...
Take me away...
Ze schrikt 's nachts nog zelden wakker
Overdag is ze goed geluimd
Het eten wil haar weer smaken
Ze is vrolijk en opgeruimd
De toekomst ligt weer open
Het leven in volle gang
Want we moeten toch altijd verder
You set me free
Flowing through
the Lethean sea
Turning away
All that I've been
A touch of your ultimate void
Burning away
All that I've been
Oblivion
You taste of medicine
and foul rooms
of the black sleep
Inside your room
it will all be so different
It will soon be over
The tall majestic oak
Immortal, unmoving
Seeing all, seething all
Loathing moves through it's veins
But moving shall it never know
Reaching out it's stranglehold
Squeezing the essence from it's woeful foe
Which lie below
Try it shall to cascade all
The middle of the circle
My comrade encompassed
The circle I migrated to each dusk
To commence plans of treason
Unto the humans
I can't deny it, I fucking like it.
It brings on confidence and courage that I lost.
I turn into it, it helps me through it, until I lie awake and contemplate it all.
You can't break me.
Taking hold of it all.
I've finally gone straight down.
I can't deny it, I lie and loathe.
I've finally gone straight down.
I can't deny it, I lie and loathe.
I know I hate you, I can't escape you.
You bring me emptiness and nothing I've become.
I can't resist it, I wouldn't miss it.
It's finally coming out, the darkness and the cold.
You can't break me.
Taking hold of it all.
I've finally gone straight down.
I can't deny it, I lie and loathe.
I've finally gone straight down.
I can't deny it, I lie and loathe.
Loathe, you fucking loathe.
You fucking loathe.
Loathe, you fucking loathe.
You fucking loathe.
You fucking loathe.
Loathe.
I've finally gone straight down.
I can't deny it, I lie and loathe.
I've finally gone straight down.
I can't deny it, I lie and loathe.
You fucking loathe.
You fucking loathe.
