Presentation

As director of the Leeds Centre for French and Francophone Cultural Studies, I am delighted to announce the programme of our International Conference entitled War, Memory, Amnesia: Francophone Perspective on postwar Lebanon taking place 6-7 June at Hinsley Hall, Leeds, GB.This is the first conference in the UK to bring colleagues from across the globe to discuss francophone memory cultures and has been generously funded by the Leverhulme Trust, the Society for French Studies, the Institut français, SMLC and our own French subject area. As part of the conference there is going to be a free screening of Joana Hadjithomas and Khalil Joreige's film Je veux voir which stars Catherine Deneuve and Rabih Mrouré at the Hyde Park Picture House on the Thursday afternoon. Max Silverman will be presenting and there's a planned Q&A with one of the directors. Do come along if you can.
