North Harbour Stadium

North Harbour News was first delivered to the rural reaches of the North Shore in May 1991.  Started by Albany residents, Anne & Martin Perkinson, the paper served residents from Greenhithe to Dairy Flat.  It was then published monthly.  Acquired by Suburban Newspapers in June 1992 it became a fortnightly, then a weekly.

The North Harbour News serves the area including Dairy Flat, Coatesville, Gulf Harbour, Hatfields Beach, Manly, Orewa, Red Beach, Silverdale, Whangaparaoa and Albany rural areas.

It is the leading local newspaper within this community.

When residents want local news and information about their area they turn to the North Harbour News.

The Circulation area includes Arkels Bay, Army Bay, Dairy Flat, Coatesville, Gulf Harbour, Hatfields Beach, Hobbs Bay, Little Manly, Manly, Matakatia Bay, Maygrove, Okoramai Bay, Orewa, Pine Valley, Red Beach, Redvale, Silverdale, Stanmore Bay, Stillwater, The Grange, Tindalls Beach, WhangaparaoaIncludes Rural Delivery areas:  Silverdale RD, Albany RD 2, 3 (east), 4. 

Newspaper Display Advertising

Display advertising is located throughout the publication and utilises size, colour, illustration and typography to attract the reader's attention. Display advertising is primarily found in the editorial sections but can also be placed within classified sections if deemed appropriate and relevant.

You can request a preferred position within the newspaper for a fee or choose "run of paper" whereby the advertisement is placed in any position in the paper at our discretion. Opting for run of paper generally results in a reduced charge to an advertiser.

Classified Advertising

Classifieds are advertising only pages across a number of different categories e.g for sale, trade services or situations vacant.

Premium Positions

Advertisers are able to purchase front page solus positions, premium pages and loaded or specific positions, all subject to availability.

Standard Sizes

Run of Paper display ads range from 10cm high x 7.5cm wide to a full page at 38cm high x 27cm wide.

Classified - Run-ons minimum of 4 lines to boxed ads with discounts available for regular volume advertising, colour classified ads are available. 

Run of Paper (ROP)

The North Harbour News  publishes ROP on Fridays.

Sections are Local News and regular features on Health, Beauty, Business, Lifestyle, Sport, Education.

Weekly features include Health & Wellbeing, Business in Action, The Weekender, Motoring, Education & Training, Home Living and Family & Relationships.

Advertorials are available for every 6 ads placed in one of the above features.

There is also a quarterly feature for the School Holiday, with yearly features such as Christmas.

Reader advertisements are also accepted, they must contain the following:

  • reader advertisements must be entirely contained within a ruled border
  • the text may be set in ordinary news type
  • the word ADVERTISEMENT must be set in 14pt capitals and in bold, and must be placed inside the border at the top left-hand corner of the advertisement or centred at the top.

The North Harbour News has a number of varying rate levels depending on volume and position in the paper. 

Group buy rates are:

  • Auckland Regional Coverage, 10 papers
  • Auckland Metro Coverage, 8 papers
  • Any 5 Suburban Newspaper
