Alice
The Mad Hatter: Have you any idea why a raven is like a writing desk?
Jabberwocky: So my old foe, we meet on the battlefield once again.::Alice Kingsley: We've never met.::Jabberwocky: Not you, insignificant bearer. My ancient enemy, the Vorpal one.::Alice Kingsley: Alright, that's enough chatter.::[Alice slices off the Jabberwocky's tongue]
[from trailer]::The Mad Hatter: There is a place. Like no place on Earth. A land full of wonder, mystery, and danger! Some say to survive it: You need to be as mad as a hatter. [picks up his hat] Which luckily I am.
The Red Queen: Off with their heads!
The Red Queen: I need a pig here! [Live pig is slid under her feet] I love a warm pig belly for my aching feet.
The March Hare: You're all late for tea!::[Throws teacup]
The Mad Hatter: What a regrettably large head you have. I would very much like to hat it. I used to hat The White Queen, you know. Her head was so small.::The Red Queen: It's tiny. It's a pimple of a head.
Stayne - Knave of Hearts: If you're hiding her, you will lose your heads.::The Mad Hatter: [as Stayn clutches his throat] [strained] Already lost them.
\\White Queen: We have our champion
Cheshire Cat: [suddenly appearing] [notices the marks on Alice's arm] It looks like you ran afoul of something with wicked claws.::Alice Kingsley: [to herself] I've never stopped dreaming.::Cheshire Cat: What did that to you?::Alice Kingsley: Bander who... the bander...::Cheshire Cat: The Bandersnatch? [suddenly appears behind Alice, she turns to face him] Well, I'd better have a look.::Alice Kingsley: What are you doing?::Cheshire Cat: It needs to be purified by someone with evaporting skills, or it will fester and putrefy.::Alice Kingsley: I'd rather you didn't. I'll be fine as soon as I wake up.::Cheshire Cat: At least let me bind it for you? [Alice holds out her arm and he wraps the wound with a piece of cloth] What do you call yourself?::Alice Kingsley: Alice.::Cheshire Cat: *The* Alice?::Alice Kingsley: There's been some debate about that.::Cheshire Cat: I never get involved in politics. [disappears]

Stan: That feels wonderful! Thank you so very much.::Grumpy Bear: Oh, you're very welcome, Mr. Jabberwalkie.::Stan: Call me Stan. It's much easier to say.
Dim: I hate this book!::Dum: It's so heavy!
Grumpy Bear: [rapping] Now, hold your tishie-tags, it's time I spoke. / Can't remember when I ate last! / I've been starving since we started, and that's no joke. / Man, I was fading fast!::Tenderheart Bear: But Grumpy...::Grumpy Bear: [rapping] Now, don't you dare say nothing, just leave me alone / with my tummy and my yummy treats / where I'm filling up my belly with ice cream and jelly / and I'm topping it with pickled beats!::Brave Heart Lion: Pickled beats?::Grumpy Bear: [rapping] Uh-huh! / Topping it with pickled beats! After you, my dear Brave Heart.::Brave Heart Lion: Let's go!::Swift Heart Rabbit: The Mad Hatter's hat will get us there yet?::Grumpy Bear: Or drive us crazy on the way.
Brave Heart Lion: I have a feeling the Jabberwalkie is some kind of giant.::Grumpy Bear: And what makes you say that?::Brave Heart Lion: I sometimes get these hunches.
Grumpy Bear: Brave Heart?::Brave Heart Lion: Not now, Grumpy. Can't your stomach keep quiet?::Grumpy Bear: But Brave Heart, I think your giant hunch is right.::Brave Heart Lion: You do? How come?::Grumpy Bear: Because that's not my stomach!
Grumpy Bear: [flies past the princess] Pleased to meet you, I'll be right back!
Mad Hatter: You wouldn't happen to know where the princess is, would you?::Swift Heart Rabbit: We thought you would know where the princess is.::Mad Hatter: You did? Of course you did, because I do.
Grumpy Bear: [half-awake, sees the White Rabbit in the mirror] Boy, do I look rough this morning.

Worldbuilders let people who donated money to them vote on what I would read if they hit $600,000. They did reach that goal, and they voted. It was between Goodnight Moon, Fox in Socks, Where the Wild Things Are and Jabberwocky. Jabberwocky won. So I got up this morning and headed, sleep-bleary, out into the woods to record myself reciting it... You can donate to Worldbuilders at worldbuilders.org. And you should.

The Hindu 2015-01-08"Jabberwocky" is a nonsense verse poem written by Lewis Carroll in his 1872 novel Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There, a sequel to Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. The book tells of Alice's adventures within the back-to-front world of a looking glass.
In a scene in which she is in conversation with the chess pieces White King and White Queen, Alice finds a book written in a seemingly unintelligible language. Realising that she is travelling through an inverted world, she recognises that the verse on the pages are written in mirror-writing. She holds a mirror to one of the poems, and reads the reflected verse of "Jabberwocky". She finds the nonsense verse as puzzling as the odd land she has walked into, later revealed as a dreamscape.
"Jabberwocky" is considered one of the greatest nonsense poems written in English. Its playful, whimsical language has given us nonsense words and neologisms such as "galumphing" and "chortle".
A decade before the publication of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and the sequel Through the Looking Glass, Carroll wrote the first stanza to what would become "Jabberwocky" while in Croft on Tees, close to nearby Darlington, where he lived as a child, and printed it in 1855 in Mischmasch, a periodical he wrote and illustrated for the amusement of his family. The piece was titled "Stanza of Anglo-Saxon Poetry" and read: <poem>
Charles Lutwidge Dodgson ( /ˈtʃɑrlz ˈlʌtwɪdʒ ˈdɒdʒsən/ CHARLZ LUDT-wij DOJ-sən; 27 January 1832 – 14 January 1898), better known by the pseudonym Lewis Carroll (/ˈkærəl/ KARR-əl), was an English author, mathematician, logician, Anglican deacon and photographer. His most famous writings are Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and its sequel Through the Looking-Glass, as well as the poems "The Hunting of the Snark" and "Jabberwocky", all examples of the genre of literary nonsense. He is noted for his facility at word play, logic, and fantasy, and there are societies dedicated to the enjoyment and promotion of his works and the investigation of his life in many parts of the world, including the United Kingdom, Japan, the United States, and New Zealand.
Dodgson's family was predominantly northern English, with Irish connections. Conservative and High Church Anglican, most of Dodgson's ancestors were army officers or Church of England clergy. His great-grandfather, also named Charles Dodgson, had risen through the ranks of the church to become the Bishop of Elphin. His grandfather, another Charles, had been an army captain, killed in action in Ireland in 1803 when his two sons were hardly more than babies. His mother's name was Frances Jane Lutwidge.
Monty Python (sometimes known as The Pythons) was a British surreal comedy group who created Monty Python's Flying Circus, a British television comedy sketch show that first aired on the BBC on 5 October 1969. Forty-five episodes were made over four series. The Python phenomenon developed from the television series into something larger in scope and impact, spawning touring stage shows, films, numerous albums, several books and a stage musical as well as launching the members to individual stardom. The group's influence on comedy has been compared to The Beatles' influence on music.
The television series, broadcast by the BBC from 1969 to 1974, was conceived, written and performed by members Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, and Michael Palin. Loosely structured as a sketch show, but with an innovative stream-of-consciousness approach (aided by Gilliam's animation), it pushed the boundaries of what was acceptable in style and content. A self-contained comedy team responsible for both writing and performing their work, the Pythons' creative control allowed them to experiment with form and content, discarding rules of television comedy. Their influence on British comedy has been apparent for years, while in North America it has coloured the work of cult performers from the early editions of Saturday Night Live through to more recent absurdist trends in television comedy. "Pythonesque" has entered the English lexicon as a result.
Jabberwocky
'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.
`Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!'
He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought-
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.
And as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!
One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.
`And has thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Calloh! Callay!'
He chortled in his joy.
'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
[Verse 1: Elodie Wildstars]
I let you miles away, can't feel your breath in my hairs
It seems to be years, and I'm alone and fake, and I'm alone and fake
If this world is too small to be two, a world without sense if I'm without you
It's always the wrong way, there's no return to life so you get your car and drive
Look at the game of your life, you never took all the dice
After all, curtains fall, there's no return to life, so get the car and die
[Chorus]
Waiting for hope babe, there's no more light in my sky
See the pills in my hand, I'm running through your lies
You've got nothing to say, 'til I'm crossing the line
But you can't kill my name, demon's coming tonight (x2)
[Verse 2: Elodie Wildstars]
The dolls inside me cave in, blood and tears on my skin
My wounds bring up my fear, but I like this last, this last grip
I just wanna rid me of my pain, this happy violence is beating in my veins
It's always the wrong way, there's no return to life, I'm in the car and drive
[Chorus]
Waiting for hope babe, there's no more light in my sky
See the pills in my hand, I'm running through your lies
You've got nothing to say, 'til I'm crossing the line
But you can't kill my name, demon's coming tonight (x2)

It feeds off fear, our souls it's prey. Black eyes burn through the path it takes. Soft pulse...soft gaze...am I too late? Project...protect...absorb...create. Lost within my own identity. Shadows converge shedding light beyond eternity. she'd that grin from your featureless face. This tongue now speaks your language. And what I now taste is bitter...lifeless blood. Tempting demise. Hollow in it's guise. It's appearance lies. Vindication arise. Ludic luster, transcend the flame. Consume, exile, sever the hate. Acrid blood flow exudes coarse veins. Confront...surpass...absorb...create.

There are things.
There are creatures about
Which we can't (?)
That's what I'm afraid of these days.
Pulled the wings off a rat today.
I saw myself and it was shielding to win.
That's what I'm afraid of these days.
There are things,
things that only I see.
There are creatures
and they're out to get me.
That's what I'm afraid of these days.
Glued some wings to the back of a spider.
Looked up for validation but I could not find it.
No one's more scared than I am these days.
This shit.
Say it, cause I can see it.
You got the look of a skeptic in headlights.
Shall I go on?
Have I gone too long?
Cue the music because the speaker is scaring me.
The children are trembling.
Rightfully so.
Rightfully so.
Tell me again,
there's a nest in my ear.
And why am I right?
A spirit in
Is that all we are?
Having their thoughts with my poor mind
Made a mess of my vision,
made a mess of my sight.
I should have seen friends
Say it cause I can see it
You got the look of a believer on trial.
So shall I go on?
Have I gone too long?
Cue the music because the speaker is scaring
the children are trembling
Rightfully so.
Rightfully so.
Say it cause I can see it
You got the look of a skeptic in headlights.
So shall I go on?
Have I gone too long?
