London i/ˈlʌndən/ is the capital city of England and the United Kingdom, the largest metropolitan area in the United Kingdom, and the largest urban zone in the European Union by most measures. Located on the River Thames, London has been a major settlement for two millennia, its history going back to its founding by the Romans, who named it Londinium. London's ancient core, the City of London, largely retains its square-mile mediaeval boundaries. Since at least the 19th century, the name London has also referred to the metropolis developed around this core. The bulk of this conurbation forms the London region and the Greater London administrative area, governed by the elected Mayor of London and the London Assembly.
London is a leading global city, with strengths in the arts, commerce, education, entertainment, fashion, finance, healthcare, media, professional services, research and development, tourism and transport all contributing to its prominence. It is the world's leading financial centre alongside New York City and has the fifth-largest city GDP in the world (and the largest in Europe). London has been described as a world cultural capital. It was the world's most visited city during 2011 and London Heathrow is the world's busiest airport by number of international passengers. London's 43 universities form the largest concentration of higher education in Europe. In 2012 London will become the first city to host the modern Summer Olympic Games three times.

Initially Kanye was reluctant to hear the emcee, however he gave Sean 16 bars to rap for him, eventually according to Big Sean "As we get to the entrance of the radio station ... we stopped in the middle of the doorway. He starts looking at me and bobbing his head,". He left a demo-tape as well. Two years later, West finally signed Big Sean to GOOD Music.

The streets are dark and quiet at London, after midnight.
Listen...
The silence is the master of darkness, and London can sleep tonight,
protected by the master.
London... London...
You scream the largest portion of the day
London... London...
New York winter Traffic squeals
The city feels...so old
Late December taxi ride
Then run inside it's cold
Got your letters Monday
I think or Tuesday
I lose track
since then I've been thinking of you
and I've been looking back to
London
Can you believe it's so many years since
London
Hitching a ride and carrying knapsacks
London
In the park by the Thames Drinking tea
London
sitting in pubs and living in walk-ups
London
Learnin' the accent learnin' to love you
London
We were young we were sure
We were... free
Was it really ages
Ago the memories Never fade
can you hear Big Ben where you are
and are you glad you stayed in
London
Dodging the rain with broken umbrellas
London
Readind the Times on saturday picnics
London
Counting stars 'till the stars
All were gone
London
So many plans and nothing but time in
London
Nothing to fear 'cause nothing could last in
London
We grew close we grew scared
I moved on
Oh London
What were we scared of
Why did I run from London
Part of me still has
Never come back from London
Is it fair that I miss
You so much
Take good care all my love
Keep in touch
New York winter taxi ride
I wander through each chartered street,
Near where the chartered Thames does flow,
A mark in every face I meet,
Marks of weakness, marks of woe.
In every cry of every man,
In every infant's cry of fear,
In every voice, in every ban,
The mind-forged manacles I hear:
How the chimney-sweeper's cry
Every blackening church appals,
And the hapless soldier's sigh
Runs in blood down palace-walls.
But most, through midnight streets I hear
How the youthful harlot's curse
Blasts the new-born infant's tear,
We came from the far North
Summered in Crimea
Deserted the armed forces
Had to disappear
Made it to the free West
On a chartered flight
So we could see what
We trained to fight
We were in London
Let's do it
Let's break the law
We were in London
Tell it like it is
We were in London
Tell it like it is
We were in London
Looking for hard work
Or credit card fraud
What do you expect from us?
We come from abroad
To get ourselves a new job
On building site
They work you so hard
But we trained to fight
We were in London
Let's do it
Let's break the law
We were in London
Tell it like it is
We were in London
Let's do it
Let's break the law
We were in London
Tell it like it is
Tell it like it is
My father fought in Afghanistan
His widow's pension ain't worth a damn
My mother works and goes home to cry
I want to live before I die
We were in London
Let's do it
Let's break the law
We were in London
Tell it like it is
We were in London
Let's do it
Let's break the law
We were in London
Tell it like it is
We were in London
Tell it like it is
You have to hate the world
it's required by your clothes
consistency is everything
as everybody knows
it's so cold, baby
you're losing your hold, baby
and you're gonna fold, baby
before too long
but don't tell me your secret lies in London
I already know
I can see your secret lies in London
everywhere I go
There is a sun somewhere
extremely far away
your tired eyes, reflecting the sky,
a drizzly steel grey
there's no light in there
and there's no sight in there
I get right in there, and it's all
dark
but don't deny your secret lies in London
it's not worth your while
you can lie back and think of England
and miss it by a mile ya na na na na
you can't conceal your secret lies in London
obvi ous ly not
I can feel your secret lies in London
deeper than you thought ya na na na na
What it feels to fall in to the pool
the hard shell bugs bite my forearm
my right index fingernail chewed to the quick
my cervix is a long (?)
my sprinklers go off at 6pm each day
and sometimes they spray unsuspecting visitors
my pimples are goosebumps(hairs?) all over my legs
my brow is furrowed and my vision is blurred
and how I do love London
and how I do love London
the birds make guttural sounds and protect me
my friends come to visit and love me a lot
I don't have the energy to fill this
I am like flight attendants on a 12 hour flight
and how I do love London
and how I do love London
I am intriguied by the boy with songs
sometimes they write sometimes they write a lot
the steam will smell of puke and left us in the shower
the hug will feel forced upon you inconsolable thing
and how I do love London
and how I do love London
deep breaths will not make my brain stand still
to be loved and swallowed are single and depraved
I love speaking french to the taxi drivers
we slept and were cold on the train out of france
and how I do love London
You have to hate the world
it's required by your clothes
consistency is everything
as everybody knows
it's so cold, baby
you're losing your hold, baby
and you're gonna fold, baby

Smoke
Lingers 'round your fingers
Train, heave on to Euston
Do you think you've made
The right decision this time?
You left your tired family grieving
And you think they're sad because you're leaving
But did you see the jealousy in the eyes
Of the ones who had to stay behind?
And do you think you've made
The right decision this time?
You left
Your girlfriend on the platform
With the really ragged notion that you'll return
But she knows that when he goes
He really goes
And do you think you've made
I hate you
The things you do
I love you
The things you do
And we've got things so confused
I feel neglected and abused
Man, you've got me so confusedI hate you
The things you do
I love you
The things you do
And we've got things so confused
I feel neglected and abused
Man, you've got me so confused
Cause I'm so caught up in you
So I I've got London on my mind
Did you cry another time?
I've got London on my mind
Did you look so satisfied?
Cause I'm so caught up in you
So I I've got London on my mind
Did you cry another time?
I've got London on my mind
Did you look so satisfied?
I hate you
The things you do
I love you
The things you do
And we've got things so confused
I feel neglected and abused
Man, you've got me so confused
Cause I'm so caught up in you
So I I've got London on my mind
Did you cry another time?
I've got London on my mind
It was November 4th I last held your hand.
It seemed our time would last forever.
You said don't ever leave,
I thought you'd never go.
I wish I could just remember your name...
You're just a memory now like all the ones before
but with your pain I've had to suffer.
Your eyes all night with flame as the picture burns.
I hear the screams from long ago.
They cry remember, blood-red streakes on velvet throats at night.
The streetlights fanned our trail of fame through
London, London, the memories will never leave me
London, London, all I see is you
London, London, the cries in the night keep bringing me to London,
London calling out to me
Oh, there's some things in life I could never face,
the worst is being alone.
Sometimes I wish I could have taken your place my love.
You know I don't want to live forever.
Oh, let me see you standing in the shadows once again.
We'll walk the streets like long ago in
London, London, the fire in your eyes will be bringing me to
London, London, all I need is you. The cries in the night keep ringing on in
London, London, calling out to you
All my secrets and I don't know who I am.
I even feel alone when you're near 'cause you'll nevr understand.
When the first met I must have seemed a million miles away.
It's strange how our lives have touched but the time is right.
I'll leave tonight, don't look in my eyes
'cause you've never seen them so black.
Smoke
Lingers 'round your fingers

Heave on - to Euston
Do you think you've made
The right decision this time ?
Oh ...
You left
Your tired family grieving
And you think they're sad because you're leaving
But did you see Jealousy in the eyes
Of the ones who had to stay behind ?
And do you think you've made
The right decision this time ?
You left
Your girlfriend on the platform
With this really ragged notion that you'll return
But she knows
That when he goes
He really goes
And do you think you've made
The right decision this time ?
I waste away the days
Waiting on a new age
But time betrays me
And I get older one more year
Walk London's windy streets
He waits for me at home
But I wonder the secrets
That only cobble stones hold
Only the cobble stones know
And I've never been so sure
That after all these years, all that I've learned
Is that heavenly creatures never come
They never come
Got a knife-throwing kind of love
But your silence cuts the deepest
And I know I've made a mess of things
And I'm sorry for all that
Wish we could get the time back
'Cause I've never been so sure
That after all these years, all that I've learned
Is that heavenly creatures never come
Wait for it
Wait for it
Earth will turn when we're gone
So we pray that Heaven waits on us
But the wolves howl to the Moon
And she never answers back
No, she never answers back
But after all these years, all that I've learned
Is that heavenly creatures never -- never been so sure
That after all these years, all that I've learned
Is that heavenly creatures never come
I waste away the days

Through the satellites, I fight with you
That local brew is spillin'
I know just how you spend your time
I want to get my hands on him
Somebody's party in a London flat
You're where it's at and I know
You want to see me lose my mind
I'm tired of chasing after you
The residue is jealous
See me on the dark side of your mind
I want to get my hands on him
To a club that's pounding in the London rain
The world could end we wouldn't hear it
I know just what's on your mind
I see the way your face has changed
We're no good for each other
You tricked me into coming here
So let go, I don't want to go to London
I told you I don't care
I don't want to go to London
To live there
I don't want to go to London
All your friends afflicted
I don't want to go to London
She's addicted
I saw you with him
I know where you've been
That nose is broken wide open
Your way has got me out of line
I want to get my hands on him
You're so sick to make me prove
It takes a fight to move you
I know just what's on your mind
It's been this way a thousand years
We torture each other
So why the hell'd you call me here
When you know
I don't want to go to London
I told you I don't care
I don't want to go to London
Live there
I don't want to go to London
All your friends afflicted
I don't want to go to London
She's addicted
I don't want to go to London
I told you I don't care
I don't want to go to London

I don't want to go to London

Sundark on darker streets. its violent times for weary feet.
carjackers and bullet showers. a yellow sign. too many fools in power
but see. i will be gone by morning. my dear friend i lost a fight
forget me. i wash my hands in your grey slowing night.
coming down from darkened heights. i taste the thames with my cycle lights
by saint paul's by big ben. by god's name, i repent.
but see. i will be gone by morning my dear london goodnight
you say you'll go to london
and i will stay right here
you claim you might be anyone
the same time next year
you say that i am foolish
you can call me what you like
as long as you're not with me

Victory's a blue and bruisin voice
I'm leaking pure white noise
Mercy here gets meaner overnight
It's Jersey sheer, it's outta sight
Misery's fun, I'm kissing everyone
I gotta hold my tongue
I wish I was in London, walkin' in the rain
I wish I was in London, ooh I really miss the rain
Oh, just take me home again
I wish I was in England, I really miss the Queen
I wish I was in England, ooh I really miss the Queen
Oh, just take me home again
What happened to the Empire? There's nothing in the Bank
They gave away the Empire, without a word of thanks
Oh just blame it on the Yanks
So give me rule Brittania, Brittania rules the waves
I live in California, but it's really not the same
Oh, so take me home again
Oh, please take me home again
Oh, London, where the clouds never go away
I keep my coat on from September till May
When the tulips will bloom in the most unusual way.
Oh, London, I love you, but the clouds never go away.
Oh, London, where it's goomy in the fall
I can't shake this sadness cause it's never that small.
But we're all sad together, so I'm not alone at all,
Oh, London, I'll leave you, but the sky will always fall.
Oh, London, where the daffodils grow
Each one like a fireball at the end of the meadow
And I always forget there, I could've felt so low
The air was dry in London, I was on the bus to holborn
The orange light upon the eye was getting in my way
Everybody's saying What are you going to do afterwards?
What are you going to do after you graduate?
The air was dry in London,
I was watching the cars and the taxis that go by
The orange light upon the eye was getting in my way
Everybody's running Everybody's standing still
Everybody's waiting for you
Get on the westbound, change at Baker Street station,
Buskers keep on playing the day
The smell of beers and bottles, roses and regattas,
Doves and newspapers fly away
And We'll be walking down the river,
pretty houses down the stream
Look down at the pavement, and it's looking back at me
Time goes by so slowly, no long distance calls to blame
Yes, you have made my day!
The air was dry in London, I was on the bus to Old
Street
The orange light upon the eye was getting in my way
Everybody's running Everybody's speeding up
But I'm right here waiting for you
Get on the southbound, change at Waterloo station,
Men in suits are playing the day
The smell of cigarettes on the tip of my hair.
Doves and newspapers fly away
And We'll be walking down the river,
pretty houses down the stream
Look down at the pavement, and it's looking back at me
Time goes by so slowly, no long distance calls to blame
Yes, you have made my day!
Get on the rapid train, I'm running late again
Men in suites are playing the game
The smell of beers and bottles, roses and regattas,
Doves and newspapers fly away
And we'll be laughing as we walk on,
making plans upon our dreams
The wishes come together as we pave our roads so free
Time goes by so slowly, no long distance calls to blame
I've been to London, oh
I've sailed a ship around the world
I've counted angels, oh
I've seen a tangerine girl
And though it's leading me on
And though I know that it's wrong
And though I'm living my dream
I still can't seem to move on
I've swallowed aspirin, oh
I've seen the white of my own eyes
I've felt the hunger, oh
I've swallowed handfuls of flies
And though it's leading me on
And though I know that it's wrong
And though I'm living my dream
I still can't seem to move on
I've watched the felines oh
I've watched them scratch my skin away
I've tripped the land mines oh
I've watched them blow my face away
And though it's leading me on
And though I know that it's wrong
And though I'm living my dream
I still can't finish this song
As she sang
And though it's leading me on
And though I know that it's wrong
And though I'm living my dream
I've been tomorrow
As she sang
As she sang
As she sang

I can feel your secret lies in London
With a city old as you
We just can't mistake your grace
It's a pitty that's old is new
As they slowly change your face
Chorus:
Ooh London, don't give it away
Cause we can't replace the charm
That you've given the world
Ooh London
Such tradition from your left hand cars
To the changing of the fuard wishpering words
So much beaty, castles stand so proud
And remind us of your past
Chorus:
Ooh London, don't give it away
Cause we can't replace the charm
That you've given the world
Ooh London
Older an older your pride to ignores the pain
Of change, ooh London you're the city
Chorus:
Ooh London, don't give it away
Cause we can't replace the charm
That you've given the world
Fell like I'm invisible
as I walk in the middle of the drizzle
Landed in a place which is folded up
London please holds me up
Where are the caresses promised?
How the street are paved
with cold souls, cold souls
Feel like im invisible
as I walk in the midlle
What a pity, what a pity, what a pity
Fallen out of like, with the city
Hard to get a smile in a mile down
Frowns, there's not enough love in this big town
Where is the love, where is the love?
Cold souls, where is the love, where is the love?
Cold souls...
...a love in this big town
Cold souls where is the love, where is the love?
You promised me love
Feel like I'm invisible
Feel like I'm invisible
Feel like I'm invisible
Feel like I'm invisible
Exorcised the demons inside my head
When I wake up in the sunlight
And look into your eyes
And I hold you for a little while
And I see behind your smile
I remember how beautiful
I used to think you are
Now the only love that meant something is gone
I should have let you go
When I saw that
It was over in your eyes
What do I have to do?
To get rid of you
I'll be better on my own
Now I miss the sun
But as long as I'm with you
It's just another rainy day in London
Ooh, just another rainy day in London
I still hold on to the memory
Of how we were meant to be
And I wonder did you ever care
You were never there for me
I thought I was stronger
But then why am I here
With nothing left to say
Now the only love that meant something is gone
I should have let you go
When I saw that
It was over in your eyes
What do I have to do?
To get rid of you
I'll be better on my own
Now I miss the sun
But as long as I'm with you
It's just another rainy day in London
Ohh, Just another rainy day in London
(Just another day, Just another day)
I remember how beautiful
I used to think you think you are
I should have let you go
When I saw that
It was over in your eyes
What do I have to do?
To get rid of you
I'll be better on my own
Now I miss the sun
But as long as I'm with you
It's just another rainy day in London
The London Rail roars ahead
Nineteen by the light of the room
Luggage up above our beds
I jolt and sway 'til I reach you
Tangled up are two legs
Two legs, two legs
Tangled up our two legs
Hold up, cuz it ain't ever felt like this before
It takes me back to my hometown
My first kiss down under oak trees
Does it take you back to your chateaux?
Or Marseilles, down on the seaside
It takes me back to my hometown
When you kiss me, I feel the whole train shake
It takes you back to your chateaux
I wanna hold this in
Ginger Ale on the plane
I'll wake you up when we get there
I change my mind, but you don't complain
I can't help when I miss you
American boy starts to feel it
Do you feel it? Do you feel it, too?
American boy, isn't it strange?
Isn't it strange, this ain't the same.
It takes me back to my hometown
My first kiss down under oak trees
It takes you back to your chateaux
Or Marseilles, down on the seaside
It takes me back to my hometown
When you kiss me, I feel the whole plane burn
It takes you back to your chateaux
I wanna hold this in
Cuz it ain't ever felt like this I swear
I ain't fooling, yeah, you floored me
Oh I ain't ever had a kiss like yours
Cuz it ain't ever felt like this I swear
I ain't fooling, yeah, you floored me
I ain't ever had a kiss like yours
American boy you're just dreaming
Cuz it ain't ever felt like this I swear
I ain't fooling, yeah, you floored me
I ain't ever had a kiss like yours
So Long Sweetness...
Now, Now the curtain falls without a trace left to hold
There's only time
Time to sleep, to be, to be alone
To break the spell
Staring hard into nights with lack of sleep to sustain
yourself
To end all sighs
Tearing hard from a transatlantic grip
From below ,London ,Far below, Faces are crying out.
Seal,
now you know it's the season of the witch
It with a kiss,
The kinda wound that might of fooled a deeper ditch
You know it goes like this
Alarming, disarming not a face to bear
At a certain pitch
Tables turning faster harder Noise keeps pumping louder
louder
It'll drip below London
More and more,
Mothers are crying hard.
So Long Sweetness... Take what you've chosen, look at
Starboy . . . International.
I said when the music hits you put your hands in the air, put your hands in
the air, put your hands in the air I said when the music hits you put your
hands in the air, put your hands in the air, put your hands in the air,
air air air, air air, air air air . . .
(Chorus)
I could take you to London (take you to London)
Take you shopping all day (take you shopping all day)

(Chorus)
I could take you to London (take you to London)
Take you shopping all day (take you shopping all day)
We can go to Milan (we can go to Milan)
Or cruise around san tro pez (cruise around san tro pez)
But don't fall in love, you don't know the games I've played,
You don't know the girls I've saved
I can put you in my top three.
I can see you're a very freaky girl, and that's a side you want to show to
Let me take you all around the world, lets start tonight when you come
home with me.
Baby grab your coat. let the fun begin. You can come along, you can bring
your friends, Ima take you places you've never been.
Baby i i i i i
Kill the weak hail the strong
That's Great Inferno London's song
Glowing cauldrons burning stoves
Rubbish people torture loves
Purge the poor greet the King
That's Great Inferno London's thing
The Grill is hot lay down to rest
Weaklings fail my subtle test
Great Inferno London kicks
Let's party like 1666
Great Inferno London kicks
We party like 1666
Eternal City Northern Line
I purge the filth herd the swine
Hang the robbers from my Tower
That's what they get for hating Power
House of Pain Church of Lust
Scream you will obey you must
Whip I will then pour the cum
I am London Lord of Scum
Human life divided ditch
Below the poor above the rich
Weak men die strong men run
One half in shit one half in sun
Life's lost Death's won
People die but party on
I am London King of Cum
Drink my sperm you filthy bum
Rack of spikes torture drum
I am London Lord of Scum
Spirit storms body heat
I'm flying over london on a cold november night
The river snakes across the vast ocean of electric lights
Fast and weightless like this marvel in the sky
The young and restless skateboard in the dark beneath the closing london eye
I'm flying over london looking down at busy streets
I scout to find a few familiar places looking up at me
Seven years since I first stepped off of this plane
And still this city doesn't know my stories my dreams or my first name
Someday I have to say goodbuy
Ti the city that showed me awoke me and broke me
Someday I have to say goodbuy to london
London
I press against the window, my forehead cold and numb
As I search through blurry memories to trace the woman I've become
Between st.mark, brick lane and eve's market cafe
I found my self in pieces, took what I could carry and I threw the rest away
I'm flying over london on a cold november night
Unlit parks like bullet wounds in the blanket of electric light
The city is a living creature all on it's own
And we all push like blood through it's veins
So close together, so alone
Someday I have to say goodbye
To the city that thrilled me and built me and killed me
Someday I have to say goodbye
To london
Someday I have to say goodbye
To the city that moved me and soothed me confused me
Someday I have to say goodbuy
To london
oh you're making me feel
close to something real
I'm down here on my knees
what's gonna happen to me
waiting for the summer sun
I need for you to come on strong
kiss me when I'm on my back
and tell me i'm the best you've ever had
She gave me london
and all her twisted pain
She gave me wisdom
and a reason to stay sane
Bruised and in your room
my mind is clear when in front of you
I love the smell of your skin
It's crawling all over me again
She gave me london
and all her twisted pain
She gave me wisdom
and a reason to stay sane
we're almost the same
you and me
we're almost the same
you and me
She gave me london
and all her twisted pain
She gave me wisdom
and a reason to stay sane
She gave me something
But i threw it all away
She gave me London
I tought i heard her say
we're almost the same
you and me
we're almost the same
[Kim McAuliffe - Kelly Johnson]
I was feeling like nothing on earth
Bored with everthing
With lots of wine I could feel fine
Looking like something that the cat dragged in
Take a walk down by the Thames
Throw myself in and have a swim
Down the Prince Of Wales
It never fails to bring a smile
Oh you got everything
Everything and more
Oh you got everything
Oh you got everything
Everything and more
Oh you got everything
And the streets are paved with gold
So many secrets still untold
Neon lights are shining bright
I dance away the night
Up the junction
Round the bend
Will this madness never end
Crazy people everywhere
Down in Soho Square
Oh you got everything
Everything and more
Oh you got everything
Oh you got everything
Everything and more
Oh you got everything
I've seen the desert at sunrise
Like fire in the skies
Mountains giant blue and cold
Rivers running gold
Tokyo and Amsterdam
New York, Paris and Milan
When you come back into view
Nothing dares compare to you
Oh you got everything
Everything and more
Oh you got everything
Oh you got everything
Everything and more
Oh you got everything
Oh you got everything
Oh you got everything
Oh you got everything
I wander through each chartered street,
Near where the chartered Thames does flow,
And mark in every face I meet
Marks of weakness, marks of woe.
In every cry of every Man
In every Infant's cry of fear
In every voice, in every ban
The mind-forged manacles I hear
London calling, big city of fear
London calling, can't you hear?
How the Cimney-sweeper's cry
Every blackening Church apalls;
And the hapless Soldier's sigh
Runs in blood down palace walls
But most through midnight streets I hear
How the youthful harlot's curse
Blasts the new born infant's tear,
And blights with plagues the marriage hearse
London calling, big city of fear
