News from the Freeform Front

Our friend Bob Rixon - Poet, Writer and WFMU DJ Extraordinaire - passed away on Thursday, of complications from pneumonia. We will miss him. You can hear Rix's archives from this page, or leave a message on his Facebook page here. Rix's blog is here and some of his his poetry can be found here. A memorial service is planned and details will be posted here when they become available. RIP Rix.
Amen Dunes recently stopped by WFMU and played an incredible set of psychedelic acid folk on Dangerous for the Brain with Thomas Storck. Take a listen to the set, bliss out, and don't miss the new album "Love," which hits shelves this week.
From the internet to the streets, do you always feel like somebody's watching you? We want your photos of the cameras and sensors in your everyday life to use in an upcoming video special on surveillance. Click here to upload your surveillance-related photos or videos, or go to the menu in the lower right of either of our mobile apps and tap "Upload Pics & Videos," deadline is May 14th. You can also send us links to your favorite internet surveillance feeds.
Remember that time avant guitarist Bill Orcutt tore up the WFMU bathroom (in a good way)? Get your mind outta the sewer and watch a snippet of the barefooted Mr. Orcutt performing alongside WFMU's 4th floor toilet (grab a few MP3s from the set while you're at it).
Hey, NYC area concert-goers, have a gander at WFMU's Arbitrary Guide To Popular Culture, a one stop shopping for listings to cool musical events in the area.
