Longtime British TV host Sir David Frost has died at age 74, reports CNN.com on Sept. 1, The BBC reported Frost was suspected of suffering a heart attack while on a cruise.

Frost, always an agressive interviewer, talked to members of the Beatles individually many times over the years. The most recent was in 2012 when he interviewed Paul McCartney. During the interview, McCartney told Frost Yoko Ono didn't break up the Beatles.

Frost also interviewed McCartney several times, including in 1964 (it's on this page) and in 1965 and in 1997. In the 1964 interview, McCartney talked about the Beatles' success and looked ahead to the future.

John Lennon and Yoko Ono were interviewed together by Frost in 1968. The couple, both dressed all in black, gave Frost a button that said “You Are Here.” Frost interviewed them again on Jan. 13, 1972. That show also featured music from David Peel joined by John and Yoko.

George Harrison joined John Lennon for an interview talking about transcendental meditation on Sept. 29, 1967. He appeared alone on “Frost on Sunday” in 1968 and with Ravi Shankar in December, 1971.

Ringo Starr appeared on Frost's show in 1970 to promote his album “Sentimental Journey.”

Frost also hosted “David Frost Salutes the Beatles” on May 21, 1975 with guests George Martin, Derek Taylor, Mal Evans and Peter Brown. The show featured archival interviews with the Beatles.

The Beatles as a group appeared on "Frost on Sunday" on Sept. 8, 1968 to sing "Hey Jude."

"My heart goes out to David Frost's family.. He could be -- and certainly was with me -- both a friend and a fearsome interviewer, British Prime Minister David Cameron tweeted Sunday.
