M2TW, Broken Crescent: Roman Empire (Byzantines) vs Seljuk Turks HD
NOTICE: AT THE REQUEST OF SOME FRIENDS OF MINE, THE PURPOSE OF THIS VID IS MORE TO SHOW THE UNITS IN IT THAN FOR THE BATTLE ITSELF, SO IF U WISH TO ONLY WATCH THE BATTLE JUST SKIP THE FIRST 9 MINS... THANK YOU!!! WooHooo... No more part 1s & part 2s in my battle/siege vids, i can upload vids now much longer than just 15mins, i already tested a 33min vid & removed it, thats why this vid takes around 22 mins hehehe. Now i need to check how long max i can upload cos it only tells me "you can upload vids longer than 15 mins" but already knowing i can upload as long as 30mins i'm already much glad, & from now on i will post my battles & sieges in HD... Here are the Eastern Romans (Byzantines) vs the Seljuk Turks in Broken Crescent, first showing the units as requested, then they battle it out. Since this is a custom battle the commander is just a captain, cos the General, faction heir & Emperor in the campaign look much better & awesome, i chose the best & better units on both sides rather than levies & they really look amazing especially the Byzantines, even the muslim units, the seljuks look so awesome & really historically accurate. I'm really loving this mod for its units & skins but now, later on, i will upload the Byzantines (Eastern Romans) from Stainless Steel 6.3 also cos even on stainless steel they look amazing. I didn't choose the Byzantine Toxotai archers as they look very plain, simple & unprotected, instead i choose Armenian Azat Archers who are better protected ...

8 26 1071 Battle of Manzikert The Seljuk Turks defeat the Byzantine Army at Manzikert
Although the Byzantine Empire had remained a strong and powerful entity in the Middle Ages,[9] the Empire began to decline under the reign of the militarily incompetent Constantine IX and again under Constantine X—a brief two year rule of reform under Isaac I Komnenos only delaying the decay of the Byzantine military.[10] It was under Constantine IX's reign that the Byzantines first came into contact with the Seljuk Turks, the latter attempting to annex Ani in Armenia. Yet, Constantine IX secured a truce between Byzantine Empire and the Seljuks. The truce lasted until the year 1064 when Seljuks conquered the Armenian capital at Ani.[9] Constantine X (successor to Isaac Komnenos) did much discredit to his predecessor—in 1067 Armenia was taken by the Seljuks, followed by Caesarea.[11] In 1068, Romanos IV took power and after a few speedy military reforms he entrusted to Manuel Comnenus to lead an expedition against the Seljuks, allowing him to capture the city of Hierapolis Bambyce in Syria. A Turkish attack against Iconium was thwarted when a Byzantine counter-attack from Syria ended in victory.[5] Yet, the campaign ended in a debacle when Manuel was defeated and captured by Seljuks. Despite the failure of the Byzantium campaign, Alp Arslan had been quick to seek a peace treaty with the Byzantines; he regarded the Fatimid Caliphate of Egypt as his main enemy and had no desire to engage with the Byzantines in unnecessary hostilities.[3] Hence, a peace treaty is signed ...

The Battle of Malazgirt/Manzikert 1071 HD - (Seljuq Turks vs Byzantines)
Thank you for watching this video, please rate/comment ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Battle of Manzikert, or Malazgirt, was fought between the Byzantine Empire and Seljuq forces led by Alp Arslan on August 26, 1071 near Manzikert. The decisive defeat of the Byzantine army and the capture of the Emperor Romanos IV played an important role in undermining Byzantine authority in Anatolia and Armenia. The fallout from Manzikert was nearly disastrous for the empire, with numerous subsequent civil conflicts and an economic crisis severely weakening the empire's ability to adequately defend its borders. This led to the mass movement of Turks into central Anatolia and by 1080, an area of 30000 square miles (78000 km2) had been lost to the empire. Romanos continued to Manzikert, which he captured on August 23; the Seljuks responded with heavy incursions by bowmen. The next day some foraging parties under Bryennios discovered the Seljuk army and were forced to retreat back to Manzikert. The Armenian homo sex ual general Basilakes was sent out with some cavalry, as Romanos did not believe this was Arslan's full army; the cavalry was destroyed and Basilakes the Armenian pig taken prisoner. Romanos drew up his troops into formation and sent the left wing out under Bryennios, who was almost surrounded by the quickly approaching Turks and was forced to retreat once more. The Seljuk forces hid among the nearby hills for the night, making ...

Broken Crescent 2.02: Roman Empire (Byzantium) vs Seljuk Turks
Both sides Max skilled... Seems i got a bit rusty after not playing tw games for some time lol. Each time i play this mod i can't help but amaze myself at its great looking units & their armor, not just the Roman Byzantines but also the enemy. As far as for Late Roman Byzantine unit skins there is NO DOUBT to my mind, that these of BC are the best looking from all mods. There's no way i'm gonna play BC & not play some with them hehehe..

Medieval 2 Total War MP 2v2 Commentary Battle: Seljuk Turks & Mongols vs France & Venice (Early)
For more M2TW action: www.youtube.com M2TW Online Multiplayer 2 vs 2 Battle: Seljuk Turks & Mongols vs France & Venice 20k per team (10k per person), no elephants, no artylery, 6/2. A perfect example of how a battle between the light Eastern factions (Muslim factions like the Turks and Egyptians and the Mongols) and heavy Western frankish (France, England, HRE, Venice etc.) armies looked like. While the Franks relly on thick heacy armour to give them protection, for the Turks "speed is armour". Those light Alan Cavalry and Horse Archers were a thorn in any Western army's eye. The heavy knights could never catch them because their armour made them and their horses slower. Anyway my army is composed of: - 4 Turkish Archers - 4 Spear Militias - 3 Afghan Javilenmen - 3 Naffatun - 2 Turkomans - 3 Alan Light Cavalry - 1 General Bodyguard unit My ally, commanding the Mongols, has: - 4 Mongol Infantry - 2 Mongol Heavy Archers - 2 Peasants - 3 Levy Spearmen - 3 Naffatun - 4 Mongol Light Lancers - 1 Kwarizmian Cavalry - 1General Bodyguard unit Used FRAPS to capture it and Windows Live Movie Maker to edit it so it's nothing "fancy". My PC is also crappy so it affects the quality naturally. Thank you for watching and i hope you'll enjoy/already enjoyed. PS: Sorry for any typos.

M2TW Kingdoms Crusades: Regent Reynald of Chatillion vs Seljuk Turkish Saracens
Since Many ppl watched 'the Kingdom of Heaven' i assume many of u know already who Reynald of Chatillion was. Reynald of Chatillion was a knight of the 2nd Crusade, served as Prince of Antioch from 1153 to 1160 & became Lord of Oultrejordain through his 2nd marriage. Right after Saladin's victory at Hattin 1187, Reynald was captured & beheaded by Saladin himself, after he had swore to behead Reynald for his cruelty over muslims, & in that same time Saladin himself was committing barbaric cruelties over the Christians, cos he 1st demanded that all the Christian POWs submit to islam or die & when they denied, which he knew they would, he ordered all Templars & Hospitallers captured to be beheaded aswell, all exept their King Guy, which HE is to blame for the defeat at Hattin & the loss of Jerusalem to the Saracens. During the beheading of Christians, as a sign of solidariety, a number of Crusader prisoners that were not to be executed, started one by one saying to the Saracens that they also were Templars & Hospitallers, when in reality they were no Templars nor Hospitallers, to stand by their brethren in their death & were all put to the sword without mercy, for God & their faith. Many of the Saracens including the Nobles begged Saladin to let them execute 1 or 2 Christians. Perhaps its no wonder during the 3rd Crusade, that when Saladin stopped paying the ransom for the garrison & ppl of Acre, Richard had them all beheaded. Although, Reynald of Chatillion is known as a ...

M2TW Kingdoms Crusades: Prince Bohemond III of Antioch vs Seljuk Crown Prince Salih 1/2
Although this battle is not a historical one, both Opposing Princes existed for real in the Holyland during the Crusades. Prince Bohemond III of Antioch was a descendant of the brave Bohemond I of Taranto, one of the leaders of the 1st Crusade who is renowned for his bravery in fighting the Seljuk Saracens & the Seljuk Crown Prince Salih, was the son of the famous Seljuk Turkish Sultan Nur al-Din of the Zengids. Prince Salih never took any part in battles cos he was just an 11 year old boy & after his father Sultan Nur al-Din died, he inherited his father's place & became a political rival of the future Ayyubid Sultan Saladin Ayyubi. The Zengids sent skillful Hashishin led by Rashid ad-Din Sinan in an attempt to threaten & kill Saladin on 2 occasions, they entered his camp at night, undetected passed through Saladin's bodyguards surrounding his tent & tried to kill him & in another attempt the same way, they left him a threatening note & a poisoned dagger near his head, saying he'd be killed if he does not withdraw his men cos he also tried to capture the Hashishin fortresses, & that made him really scared & shouted a loud cry saying it was the Hashishin leader Sinan himself that just left his tent & began fearing for his life, so he withdrew with his men. Suddenly Salih was found mysteriously dead, probably poisoned & Saladin became the unchallenged Ayyubid ruler. Anyway, in this battle i'm playing with Prince Bohemond III against 2 fresh full Seljuk Turkish armies, one ...
