Front Lines of the Libyan Revolution (Documentary)
VICE Founder Shane Smith takes you into the heart of the Libyan revolution, where the stakes are simple: victory or death. We head into rebel-controlled eastern Libya, traveling from the Egyptian border to Benghazi and then onto the front lines in Misrata to document the violent revolution. Some believe it is about protecting civilians, others say it is about oil, but some are convinced intervention in Libya is all about Gaddafi's plan to introduce the gold dinar, a single African currency made from gold, a true sharing of the wealth. "It's one of these things that you have to plan almost in secret, because as soon as you say you're going to change over from the dollar to something else, you're going to be targeted," says Ministry of Peace founder Dr James Thring. "There were two conferences on this, in 1986 and 2000, organized by Gaddafi. Everybody was interested, most countries in Africa were keen." Shocking Revelations: The Horrifying Truth About Libya
Shocking Revelations: The Horrifying Truth About Libya
The "revolution" in Libya was anything but a popular uprising. The "protestors" that overthrew Moammar Gadaffi were in fact al-Qaeda terrorists that had been unleashed on the country by the CIA under the direction of Barack Hussein Obama, and I prove this in this latest episode of The Truth Is Viral. Even more shockingly, you will hear an exclusive TTiV interview with a NATO spokesman who states, for the record, that the reason Obama had given for intervening in Libya was an utter lie. Obama had claimed that Gadaffi was about to use chemical weapons on the "protestors," when in fact he had been dispossessed of any WMD capability as early as 2003. NATO not only knew this, they were the ones who had been helping Gadaffi get rid of those weapons. Barack Obama, however, is not one to let a few facts get in his way when it comes to implementing whatever evil agenda he wishes. Under orders from a cabal of international bankers Obama, who has been doing whatever he can to support radical Islamists across the Middle East, the CIA trained and equipped al-Qaeda terrorists and set them on a path of revolution that ended with a new Libyan Central Bank and the black flag of al-Qaeda flying over the Benghazi courthouse. Assisted by NATO forces and Qatari Army Soldiers, and supplied with weapons by the Qataris, these al-Qaeda terrorists succeeded in removing the Libyan leader from power before brutally murdering him.- published: 09 Jan 2014

Jamahariya Resistance is Alive in Libya in 2014
http://rt.com/news/libya-air-force-south-834/ Jamahariya Resistance is Alive in Libya in 2014 Libya's Deputy Minister of Industry, Hassan al-Drouhin, was shot dead on Saturday night, January 11, 2014, in the city of Sirte. He became the first member of the terrorist government established by the European and Arab monarchists to be killed. The attack in Sirte occurred hours following the killing of 19 in south Libya. When NATO, led primarily by France with Qatar playing a key role on the ground within Libya, bombed Libya into severe chaos and then murdered Gaddafi and some of his sons, the overwhelming majority of the Libyan people still backed the Jamahariya government of Libya. As the terrorist government of Libya setup by the monarchists of Europe and Qatar continues to dissolve and fight among itself, the Green resistance continues to grow stronger across Libya. In fact, the infighting within the Libyan monarchist government continues to rise, as the people of Libya take advantage of it with the goal of removing all foreigners from Libya. This is why we continuing to see the killing of or holding of American and other foreigners hostage across Libya. This infighting is similar to what we are witnessing among the terrorists organized by these same monarchist governments with the intent to overthrow the government of Syria.- published: 18 Jan 2014

People and Power :Libya's Brigades 13 12 2013
When Colonel Muammar Gaddafi was overthrown in October 2011, the Libyan people dreamed of peace, freedom, an end to conflict, and a chance to put their war-torn nation back together again. But more than two years on, the country is still bitterly divided as revolutionary militias and brigades compete with the government for power and influence. So will these rival factions ever be reconciled or is Libya doomed to years of continuing instability?People & Power sent reporter Juliana Ruhfus and filmmaker Dom Rotheroe to find out.- published: 13 Dec 2013

Lion of the Desert
This movie tells the story of Omar Mukhtar, a Libyan tribal leader fighting the Italian army in the years leading up to World War II. It was directed by Moustapha Akkad, starring Anthony Quinn. It gives western viewers a glimpse into this little-known region and chapter of history, and exposes the savage means by which the conquering army attempted to subdue the natives. A very touching story indeed!

Photographer John Moore is no stranger to combat. As a member of an Associated Press team in 2005, he shared a Pulitzer Prize for breaking news photography for coverage of the war in Iraq and he's done extended stints in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Somalia, South Africa, Mexico and Nicaragua and elsewhere in the last 20 years.
Yet despite his relative comfort with being on the frontlines, Moore told the NewsHour from his hotel room in Cairo that his latest assignment -a six-week trip that took him to the uprisings in Egypt, Bahrain and Libya - might have been his most dangerous. Moore recorded the interview for us after sneaking out of Benghazi, Libya en route back to his home in Denver.

Safe Libya is a non profit organisation with the aim of helping Libya with the mass amount of arms still under the control of splinter groups, gangs and civilian people. Eight Eight was commissioned to create a campaign that would engage the public and speak out to those Libyan people who do have weapons in their possession. From something so tiny, a chain reaction can be caused that creates mass chaos, but when the people decide they have had enough, and have decided that this should stop, all arms will be collected, and this will then create a Safer Libya, without guns.

The Libyan desert near Ras Lanouf
March, 2011
Demonstrations have given way to bloody conflict. Battle lines sway back and forth as the Benghazi-centered ragtag rebels combat Tripoli's mercenaries and loyalists. Pro-Gaddafi forces mount their first coordinated offensive, exposing the rebels as woefully untrained and unorganized. Defiance turns to anguish when casualties mount. Slivers of hope rest on defecting army generals and foreign intervention.
Photojournalist Patrick Chauvel brings us this immersive video from the rebels' front lines. "It's a very sad story," he says. "These guys are students, they're hairdressers, they're bakers, bankers, philosophers, teachers. They are no military."
Chauvel is concerned for his safety. Gaddafi loyalists target the media and could cut off any escape. Four New York Times journalists are missing at the time and an Al Jazeera cameraman dies in the days that follow. Patrick says fighting in the flat, open desert divides the rebels into two camps: lucky and unlucky. Shelling hits at random, missing by hundreds of meters one moment and striking a direct hit the next. Chauvel fears the misses are the warning shots. He plans to escape before the battle becomes a massacre.

Gaddafi Interview - Libya 2010
For more info and downloads visit http://www.journeyman.tv/?lid=65621&bid;=10 In this rare interview shot in February 2010 - less than two years before he was killed while hiding in a culvert - Muammar Gaddafi tells presenter George Negus he's always merely represented the will of the people. "For 40 years I have not been the ruler, the authority has been with the people," says Gaddafi calmly. Surrounded by security guards and local TV crews in a library of his military compound, which was bombed by the Americans back in 1986, Gaddafi gives an air of quiet confidence. He continues to deny responsibility in the Lockerbie bombing and advocates a one-state solution to the Israel and Palestine conflict. He also comments on Libya's nuclear programme, and shares his opinions on terrorism and democracy. Quizzed by Negus about his softened image, Gaddafi responds that "It is the world that has changed."- published: 22 Aug 2013

The Debate - Lawless Libya
The Debate - Lawless Libya
Violence is taking over parts of Libya, as various militia groups continue to operate in the country with immunity and without any government control. In the latest spree of violence, over 40 people were killed when militia men opened fire on protesters who were demanding that all armed groups be disarmed and leave Tripoli, the capital and the largest city in Libya. Apart from violence, in the country's oil-rich east, some militias are pushing for independence while a number of others are seeking a federal system. In the country's west, the situation is no better as tensions are running high between rival ethnic groups. Can the government in Tripoli be the glue to keep the country together or not and who benefits from chaos taking over Libya?- published: 17 Nov 2013
