Hoping to find healing and help, Kesha Rose Sebert (known by her stage name Ke$ha) announced that she is undergoing a 30-day treatment program for an eating disorder, reported People magazine on Jan. 3.

"I'm a crusader for being yourself and loving yourself but I've found it hard to practice," said the 26-year-old singer.

"I'll be unavailable for the next 30 days, seeking treatment for my eating disorder ... to learn to love myself again. Exactly as I am."

The inpatient treatment program will take place at Timberline Knolls outside Chicago, reported the New York Daily News on Jan. 3. It is the same center used by Demi Lovato when she was undergoing treatment for bulimia.

Ke$ha previously has been vocal about her diet because of her advocacy for vegetarian lifestyles.

“I just love animals, and I’m an advocate for animals rights, and my family has rescued dogs from all over the world," she told the Phoenix New Times.

"I don’t believe in animal testing. If you see me in fur, it’s always fake. Sometimes you see me wearing skulls, but those are all from roadkill.”

She's also talked about her drinking.

"I’ll regret it in the morning—oh my God, I’ve lived that so many times," she told Entertainment Weekly.

"It’s just honest. There are probably, like, periods of time I was drinking too much. But I’m honest about it. You know what? Hate me for it if you want to. I’m not saying I’m the perfect role model. But I’m honest. Period.”

And in an interview with Self magazine, she revealed, “People think I sit around and drink whiskey all day, but I couldn’t keep up on a three-month tour if I were getting hammered every night."

On its Web site, Timberline Knolls describes itself as one of the leading residential treatment centers in the U.S., with a program designed to help women struggling with:

  • Eating disorders
  • Alcoholism
  • Co-occurring disorders
  • Drug addiction
  • Mood disorders
  • Trauma & PTSD
