For those of you looking for a little cinematic warmth this winter, we have a new look at the drama "Labor Day," starring Kate Winslet and Josh Brolin, directed by Jason Reitman ("Up in the Air").

The story, which is based on the novel by Joyce Maynard, revolves around heartbroken, reclusive single mom Adele (Winslet) and her son Henry (newcomer Gattlin Griffith) whose lives are forever changed when they choose to help an intimidating stranger (Brolin) who turns out to be an escaped convict.

If the early reviews out of the Toronto Film Festival are any indication, "Labor Day" promises to be a moving portrayal of human vulnerability and what it means to learn to love. Not to mention the fact that Winslet's performance has already been nominated for a Golden Globe.

"Labor Day" opens in select theaters today and nationwide in late January.
