The 1946 Rose Bowl, played on January 1, 1946, was a college football bowl game, the 32nd Rose Bowl Game, between the Crimson Tide of the University of Alabama and the Trojans of the University of Southern California. The Tide defeated the underdog Trojans 34–14. It was Alabama’s sixth and final trip to the Rose Bowl and Coach Thomas' final bowl trip as a coach.
Alabama, known as the "wooden horse" led at the half 20–0 and the Trojans had a net loss of 24 yards. USC, which had won eight straight Rose Bowl games since 1923, didn't make a first down until the third quarter when the score was 27–0.
Alabama outgained USC 351 to 41 yards. Quarterback Harry Gilmer threw only 11 times in the game for one touchdown and ran for 116 yards on 16 carries. Hal Self scored twice, on a one-yard run and on a 24-yard Gilmer pass. Gilmer went over from the one, and Lowell Tew hit left guard from the two for points and Norwood Hodges scored up the middle on a one-yard plunge. Hugh Morrow kicked four extra points in the game.
Rose Bowl or Rosebowl may refer to:
A rose (/ˈroʊz/) is a woody perennial flowering plant of the genus Rosa, in the family Rosaceae. There are over 100 species and thousands of cultivars. They form a group of plants that can be erect shrubs, climbing or trailing with stems that are often armed with sharp prickles. Flowers vary in size and shape and are usually large and showy, in colours ranging from white through yellows and reds. Most species are native to Asia, with smaller numbers native to Europe, North America, and northwest Africa. Species, cultivars and hybrids are all widely grown for their beauty and often are fragrant. Rose plants range in size from compact, miniature roses, to climbers that can reach seven meters in height. Different species hybridize easily, and this has been used in the development of the wide range of garden roses.
The name rose comes from French, itself from Latin rosa, which was perhaps borrowed from Oscan, from Greek ρόδον rhódon (Aeolic βρόδον wródon), itself borrowed from Old Persian wrd- (wurdi), related to Avestan varəδa, Sogdian ward, Parthian wâr.
The Pasadena Bowl, known as the Junior Rose Bowl from 1946 to 1971 and again in 1976 and 1977, was a college football bowl game. Between 1946 and 1966 and again in 1976 and 1977, the game pitted the California Junior College football champions against the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) football champions for the National Championship. It was organized by the Pasadena Junior Chamber of Commerce. The Junior Rose Bowl became the Pasadena Bowl from 1967 to 1971. It was billed as the Junior Rose Bowl the first two years, but now featured teams from the National Collegiate Athletic Association's College Division. Later teams from the NCAA's University Division were invited.
The term junior college refers to different educational institutions in different countries.
In India, most states provide schooling through 12th grade. Maharashtra, Odisha, Assam, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka however, have a system of junior colleges where, after taking the 10th grade board exams (see SSLC, SSC), students have to apply to junior colleges to complete their 11th and 12th grades. Junior colleges are also referred to as Pre-University Colleges (PUC). Junior colleges are frequently co-located with degree colleges.
Prominent junior colleges in Mumbai include St. Xavier's, Kishinchand Chelaram, Jai Hind, Bhavan's, Ruparel, Mithibai, St.Andrews College & Ramnarain Ruia. Prominent junior colleges in Bangalore include Christ Junior College, St. Joseph's College, Vijaya College. The 7-3, #7 USC Trojans (Pacific Coast Conference champions) met the 9-0, #3 Alabama Crimson Tide (SEC champions) in Pasadena, CA for the 1946 Rose Bowl. Despite finishing the season as 10-0, Rose Bowl champions, Alabama was not awarded the national championship in 1945 in favor of the Army Cadets, who had won over voters by outscoring their opponents 412 to 46. At the time, national champions were declared prior to bowl season and many schools - including the military academies - opted not to participate in bowls. This was also the last time in the 20th century that any team from outside the Big Ten or Pac-8/Pac-10/Pac-12 participated in the Rose Bowl.

Hey man, can somebody show me who I am
Give me a feeling of what it is that I am running from
And let me know where I could go
I believe my heart tells me things I can't conceive
My soul screams mercy please
Resupply me with myself
Resupply me with myself
I don't want to be nobody else
I only want to be myself
I only ever wanted to be myself
Dear god, can somebody tell me where I am?
Tell me there's something more than pain
Begging you on my knees again
Just cause I cursed you, cause I cursed you
Don't desert me cause that's worse
And I need you to cure me of this thirst
Need you to cure my thirst
Resupply me with myself
Resupply me with myself
I don't want to be nobody else
I only want to be myself
I only ever wanted to be myself
I don't wanna be nobody else
Resupply me with myself
Resupply me with myself
I don't wanna be nobody else
I only wanna by myself
I only ever wanted to be myself
Somebody tell me
