Forced evictions are a violation of human rights that requires urgent global attention. In 2008 between 30 and 50 million people in 70 countries worldwide lived under constant threat of being forcibly evicted (according to the International Alliance of Inhabitants).
Those that are most affected are working class people and peasants living in poverty. It’s always the poor who are evicted.

Some on the Left argue that wage struggles are inherently reformist. The reality is that they can be either reformist or democratic (the latter as an embedded element of an overall revolutionary struggle). A thin line divides the two. The difference is that the reformist will be satisfied with reforms and stop there, while an autonomous democratic movement that has the potential to contribute to revolution will keep demanding more and more, continuing to weaken (not mechanically) capital and finally challenge its existence. read full story / add a comment

As the value of Israel to the Imperial powers of the West diminishes, restraining orders are issued often. Though Israel is stalling and fighting for time, the bitter truth is starting to produce desperate exclamations and careless activities of accelerated transfer efforts - both in the occupied West Bank and within Israel (the Bedouins mainly). These days, the failure of Israel to ignite the fires of war in Syria and Iran, and the EU sanctions against the colonial settlement project in the occupied West Bank, seems to be marking a turning point. It seems that the joint struggle against the occupation and the B.D.S. project is starting to show more than localized success. So the joint struggle of the Anarchists Against the Wall with the popular committees climbs another step: the initiative of the popular committees which till now initiated sporadic activities, but are now initiating a monthly convergence of all involved activists. Siglato l’accordo. Spetterà ai lavoratori dell’azienda trasporti trarre le conclusioni da un accordo con luci e ombre. Per quel che ci riguarda abbiamo sostenuto la loro battaglia, ci interessa qui fare una riflessione e fissare alcuni punti. La lotta è stata contro i licenziamenti, contro il peggioramento delle condizioni di lavoro, contro la riduzione del salario attraverso l’eliminazione dei contratti sia aziendali che nazionali, contro la perdita delle parti normative,delle tutele e dei diritti.
