Despite the weather getting colder, the Des Moines restaurant news just keeps coming. Here is the latest news from the Des Moines restaurant scene.
Proof has suspended its lunch service for the winter. Management at the Western Gateway Mediterranean restaurant stated that most of their lunch menu favorites will be available on the dinner menu and that they will be focusing in on their fine dining experience. Here is what they posted on their Facebook page regarding the change:
We are suspending lunch service for the winter, although most of your midday favorites will be available at dinner. The space will be available for private events during the day. We have decided to close lunch for the winter to really focus on our craft: fresh, playful and modern take on Mediterranean Cuisine. Proof’s mission to make fine dining food interactive, approachable, affordable, and a lot of fun will be in full throttle. Proof’s culinary team has worked under extraordinary chefs in amazing restaurants. They helped us fall in love with food, with eating, [and] with creating the perfect bite. But most of these restaurants are out of reach for people like our friends, our families, and us; they are seeming too hard to get into, too expensive, or too intimidating. Our mission [is] to create an inviting space where progressive culinary experience [is] accessible to anyone who wants it.
