In the past two years, Anarchists Against the Wall has been subject to a growing wave of assaults on anti-occupation activists in  Israel and the West Bank.

In order to sustain our work and provide legal representation to arrested activists, we have issued an urgent appeal for  regular supporters to help us raise $1500 by the end of each month.

April against the wall: call for Anarchists Against the wall solidarity benefits

Bilin demonstration Oct 4 2013

As part of the 8th Bilin conference, a larger than usual demonstration was held this last Friday. The wall is now constructed at the rebuilt route after the village succeeded in liberating parts of its lands. The struggle against the occupation and for the liberation of the rest of the lands continues.

Sixteen Israeli activists in the struggle against the occupation, most of them in the groups Anarchists Against the Wall and Ta'ayush, were woken by police in the early hours of Sunday morning, 11.11.2012, by police officers who came to their homes. Holding cameras, the police presented the activists (or their parents, roommates, or people currently renting the apartment) with closed military zone orders, applying to parts of the villages of Bil'in, Ni'lin, Nabi Saleh, and Qadum, during most daytime hours every Friday, until March 2013. The  police demanded that the recipients sign acknowledging receipt of the orders. Several homes were also entered.

The closed military zone orders were signed by the commander of the Israeli Army's Central Command. They are general orders, which apply to all non-residents of the villages, and do not have any specific relevance to the individuals targeted.

Anarchists Against the Wall will continue with our support for and solidarity with the Palestinian popular struggle against the Israeli occupation regardless of this intimidation attempt.

Anarchists: The Most Important Activists on the Jewish Israeli Left

A lot of nonsensical accusations are leveled at Israel’s anarchist activists, a small group of citizens engaging in civil disobedience and nonviolent protest against the occupation. Most of them are lies. The fact is that the anarchists are the only group in Israel engaged in serious anti-occupation activism.

A New Way of Resistance

Just as it is a story of suicide attacks, security, annexation, legal questions and political controversy – the story of the separation wall is also that of the popular, unarmed and joint struggle of Palestinians, Israelis and internationals against it. What started in September, 2002 as a small spontaneous action by a few farmers became the heart of Palestinian resistance to the occupation.
