  • Jess Channing and Jim Jones are happy to complete the run.

Dubbed "the happiest 5K on the Planet" the Swisse Color Run brought swarms of colourful runners through Perth's Langley Park on Sunday.

Around 3,000 kiliograms of coloured powder was expected to be used across the day for the 16,000 participants.

UK based Jess Channing, 27, made sure she included the Swisse Color Run on her list of things to do when she was back for a brief visit of Perth, her hometown.

"I was really looking forward to running at the event in Perth - it's always so nice to come back here where we have beautiful weather, water and the city skyline," Ms Channing said.

"It's a really great day, where we can all have some fun and raise money for a worthwhile local cause.

"The finish party was one of the best parts - the big colour throw at the end completely blacks out the sky when you are in the middle of the action."

This year the run supported Perth based charity the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation, to help raise funds towards vital medical equipment and services for children.

As of Sunday afternoon, runners had raised funds, just shy of $30,000.
