That's why Fairfax Media, publishers of this website, have decided to introduce a subscription model for the SMH and Age's digital products, online and on tablets.
Importantly, everyone is still able to visit our websites for free. Our home pages will not change, and you can view them as often as you like. You can also read 30 articles every month without charge. After that, however, we will be asking that you pay a small sum.
There are five subscription packages available:
- Web Access: $1 for the first month, then $15 a month ongoing;
- Tablet App Access: $0 for the first month, then $21.99 a month ongoing;
- All Digital Access (websites and tablet): $1 for the first month, then $25 a month ongoing;
- All Digital Access + Weekend newspaper delivery: $1 for the first month, then $25 a month ongoing;
- All Digital Access + 7 day newspaper delivery: $1 for the first month, then $44 a month.
Fairfax readers now come to us in myriad different ways and places. Some check the latest headlines from their mobile phone on the bus; others enjoy our tablet apps over the breakfast table, or our .tv offerings in the evenings.
However you like to experience the SMH and Age, we want to give you the best journalism we're capable of. And digital subscriptions help us to keep doing that.
