A territorial collectivity (French: collectivité territoriale, previously collectivité locale) is the generic name for all country subdivisions in France that have an elected local government and (per Article 72 of the French constitution) a certain freedom of administration.
The Territorial Collectivity of Saint Pierre and Miquelon /Collectivité territoriale de Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon is a group of small French islands in the North Atlantic Ocean, the main islands being Saint Pierre and Miquelon, south of the Canadian province of Newfoundland & Labrador. The islands are as close as 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) from Green Island, part of Newfoundland. The archipelago is the only remnant of the former colonial empire of New France that remains under French control. At the end of the 17th and into the early 18th century, British attacks caused the French settlers to abandon the islands, and the British took possession for 50 years (from 1713 to 1763). The French took back the islands in 1763 under the Treaty of Paris (which ceded all of New France to Britain except ...
Ferries to Corsica: http://ferriescorsica.in/ Corsica is an island in the Mediterranean Sea. It is located west of Italy, southeast of the French mainland, and north of the island of Sardinia. Corsica is one of the 26 régions of France, although strictly speaking Corsica is designated as a "territorial collectivity" (collectivité territoriale) by law. As a territorial collectivity, it enjoys greater powers than other French régions, but for the most part its status is quite similar. Corsica is referred to as a "région" in common speech, and is almost always listed among the other régions of France. Although the island is separated from the continental mainland by the Ligurian Sea and is much closer to the Italian than to the French mainland, politically Corsica is part of Metropolit...
My first visit to Corsica, birthplace of Napoleon. This island belongs to France, not Italy as I'd mistakenly said in the video, but is a territorial collectivity, and so has more autonomy than other French regions. Geographically, however, it's located closer to Italy than France.

Mountains comprise two-thirds of the island, forming a single chain. As a territorial collectivity, it enjoys some greater powers than other French régions. Corsica is referred to as a "région" in common speech, and is almost always listed among the other régions of France. Corsica is split into two departments, Haute-Corse and Corse-du-Sud, with its regional capital in Ajaccio, the prefecture of Corse-du-Sud. Bastia, the prefecture of Haute-Corse, is the second-largest settlement in Corsica. A...
France is divided into 27 administrative regions, 22 of which are in Metropolitan France, and five of which are overseas. Corsica is a territorial collectivity (French collectivité territoriale), but is considered a region in mainstream usage, and is even shown as such on the INSEE website. Each mainland region and Corsica are further subdivided into departments, ranging in number from 2 to 8 per region for the metropolitan ones whereas the overseas regions technically consist of only one department each. The term region was officially created by the Law of Decentralization (2 March 1982), which also gave regions their legal status. The first direct elections for regional representatives took place on 16 March 1986. Music: Dustsucker by Machinimasound.com Licensed under Creative Commons C...

There have been many groups called Orpheus or similar in the history of music but none have been as undeservedly rare as this one. A typical product of seventies progressive rock with a very sunny bright sound, it reminds me of australian Pirana or canadians Ungava, it has a kind of California sound perhaps to make up for the coldness of the origins, like an antidepressant-treated Dionysos. Abstract I (Leopold): Collective violence, memory and national collectivity in the Lake Van region will be explored, a geography tentatively comprising the former Bitlis and Van vilayet. This region is set in a threefoldcontested geography: officially located within the territorial borders of Turkey, it marks the intersection point of a recollected Western Armenia and an imagined Northern Kurdistan. Utilizing the biographicalnarrative interview (acc. to Schütz), accounts of both the currently residing and those who were expelled during the genocide of 1915 (Armenians, Assyrians and Yezidis) were analyzed. Extensive number of interviews were conducted from Armenia (58), Turkey (52) and Georgia (3) in Armenian, Turkish, Kurdish, Georgian and Russian.[1] In Armenia, compiled were accounts o...

For the first public presentation of the Triennale in London, After Belonging invites a group of architects and spatial practitioners to reflect on one of the proposals selected through an International Call for Intervention ...
