Bomba Estéreo is a band founded 2001^[1] in Bogotá, Colombia that describe their music as "Electro Vacilón" ^[2] or "Electro tropical".^[3] The band began as a project of Simón Mejía's, releasing their first album as a solo project with contributions from various musicians.^[4] The other members, Liliana, Julian and Kike, would all join the band permanently before the release of their second album Estalla, which would later be re-released in the US under the title Blow Up.

They combine traditional Colombian Cumbia music with electro.^[5]

In 2010 they performed at the South by Southwest, Bonnaroo, Lovebox, and Bumbershoot festivals, as well as many other dates across Europe and the US. In 2011 the performed at Coachella and Austin City Limits. Simón Mejía has also been nominated for a Rolex mentorship^[6] which would see him link with Brian Eno. Other contenders for the prestigious mentorship include DJ Rupture and Ben Frost. Their song Fuego was in the background of the episode "Circle Us" on the Showtime series Dexter, during a scene outside of a club. In 2011 they performed at the VIVE LATINO in Mexico DF.

In 2011 their song, La Boquilla was featured in the movie Limitless.

They were selected as one of 25 best new bands in the world by MTV iggy.

Raza Murad is an Indian actor working primarily in Hindi films. He has acted in over 200 Bollywood films. He is the son of renowned Bollywood character actor Murad. He is also the first cousin of Zeenat Aman, his uncle being Amanullah Khan, writer of Mughal-e-Azam and Pakeezah. His niece Sonam was also an actress who is married to Rajiv Rai. Another niece Sanober Kabir has acted in a number of movies, and is a very popular stage performer. He has a son Ali Murad and a daughter Ayesha Murad who are also interested in becoming a part of the Bollywood fraternity.

Raza Murad started his career in mid 60s and has mainly played either supporting roles of a father, uncle or villainous roles. He has a very rich and memorable baritone voice. One of his most memorable performances as a character actor has been the role of a despondent poet in the 1973 hit film, "Namak Haraam" alongside Amitabh Bachchan and Rajesh Khanna.

He has starred in some of the most successful films of Bollywood like Raj Kapoor's Prem Rog and Ram Teri Ganga Maili and in other big hits like Khud-Daar, Ram Lakhan, Tridev, Pyar Ka Mandir, Aankhen, Mohra and Gupt: The Hidden Truth.

In 1993 he appeared in Ek Hi Raasta alongside Ajay Devgan as a terrorist who attempts to rule India. Recently he played a supporting role in Ashutosh Gowarikasr's Jodhaa Akbar.

He starred in a number of punjabi films such as Jatt Punjabi. He was awarded the lifetime achievement award for his contribution towards Punjabi Cinema at the PTC Punjabi film awards in february 2011.

Abrar-ul-Haq (Urdu/Punjabi: ابرار الحق) (born Abrar-ul-Haq Kahloon July 21, 1968) is a Pakistani pop, bhangra and folk singer. On his first album "Billo De Ghar" his name appears as simply "Abrar". Before becoming a singer, he was a geography teacher at the Aitchison College in Lahore.

In December 2011 it was reported that Abrar ul Haq had joined the Pakistani political party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.^[1]

Controversy[link]

Abrar caused some controversy with his Parmeen. He was criticized by the columnist Javed Chaudry for using the common female Pakistani name of Parveen in an odd way. This followed Chaudhry receiving a letter from a girl name Parveen that related the effects of the song on her life. The girl claimed that she had stopped attending college in Lahore because of harassment from male students. The case was taken to Pakistan's Supreme Court, which ordered Abrar to change the lyrics. He stated that he would abide by the court's decision.^[2]

Sahara for Life Trust[link]

He is the founder and chairman of Sahara for Life Trust, a charitable organisation promoting health and education in remote areas.^[3]

Abrar-ul-Haq has collaborated with Khiza on the album titled "Turning Point" by Khiza. Abrar has also collaborated with ADH which will NOT release on the album 'Taubah Taubah' but as a single. Veronica's album 'Sanam' will be releasing soon which will feature Abrar-ul-Haq produced by Rishi Rich. Abrar-ul-Haq's latest album called Sar Uthaaq Kay which is his second complication album, was released in October 2010.^{[dated info]}
