Delgany (Irish: Deilgne, meaning "Thorny Place") is a small rural village in County Wicklow located on the R762 road which connects to the N11 road at the Glen of the Downs. It is about 25 km (16 mi) south of Dublin city centre. While urban development has made Delgany contiguous with nearby, larger, Greystones, the area still retains a distinct village identity. There is a Church of Ireland parish church and the parish school Delgany National School and a Catholic Carmelite Convent in the area. Delgany is in the Roman Catholic parish of Kilquade and the parish church is located in Kilquade about 4 km (2.5 mi) south. The local Catholic school is St Laurence's which is located on Convent Road. The area is surrounded by wooded hills (including Kindlestown Wood ) and the Glen of the Downs.
Delgany has two golf clubs, Delgany GC and the newer Glen of the Downs GC. Delgany is situated just outside Greystones and has close ties to the sports clubs there including: Greystones Rugby Club, Greystones United and Greystones Lawn Tennis Club.

Shay takes GG on something of an historic pub crawl through Delgany this week, as we start our ramble at The Delgany Inn and head up through the village, to The Wicklow Arms, charting the history of both, and pretty much every point inbetween. Thankfully, we don't talk about the rumoured brothel that besmirched Delgany's good name way back in the 1980s. Or was it the 1990s...?

During the middle ages the hangmen used to travel on this road coming from Delgany to execute prisoners on the nearby fair grounds in The Downs near the old church.

So we went to scope out some local ruins for an upcoming video I'm hoping to make! I really like this spot, it really reminds me of lord of the rings for some reason!
Drive through video of Greystones, Co. Wicklow, Republic of Ireland, http://www.vidireland.com
(The quality of this video isn't the best, but I upload it anyway.) This spot is about an hours walk from my home. It's swampy terrain near a medieval church & monastery site locally known as Tee / T-temple and the Glen View Hotel overlooking the Glen of the Downs. Several ancient walls around here, and a crossing point for people and horses across a creek, probably constructed and used by the medieval monks said to have inhabited the area. The nearby Tee Temple is well documented, first mentioned in 1280, but this particular site nearby seems to have been forgotten completely. I discovered this spot about 12 years ago. I never cooked my dinner here before, but somebody else did many years ago, leaving behind a frying pan, which was already sitting there when I discovered the spot 12 year...

Where is my outline I start to fade
No concentration means 'fail' these days
I leave the table saying 'I am real'
I feel the pressure like your eyes on me
Don't mention that name and books on love
I can't be sure, I can't be sure
You end on reel one
You end on reel one
You quote from 'anxious' and things we do
I need protection from the likes of you
Do you begin to see that I don't know
I live on memories that are hard to find
Send me a card and write 'I think of you'
I'll say you lied, I'll say you're lying
You are, you are
Tell me a secret I'm sure to fall
My dog runs A.W.O.L. I blame you all
We're in formation saying 'safe, safe, safe'
Turn up my collar and mix with dark
The speaker turns on me spot her eyes
It's hard to breathe, it's hard to breathe
You end on reel one
You end on reel one
