Syria Today 15-2-2013 Posted by abeer on February 16th, 2013 Local Coordination Committees in Syria Friday in Syria has ended with a total of 89 documented martyrs, including 2 women and 6 children: 29 martyrs in Damascus and its suburbs, 20 in Idlib, 12 in Aleppo, 9 in Homs, 5 in Raqqah, 5 in Deir Ezzor, 4 martyrs in Hasakeh, 2 in Daraa, 2 in Hama, and 1 in Lattakia The Committees have also documented a total of 204 points of shelling by warplanes, including 3 points from thermobaric bombs and cluster bombs, 2 points from TNT barrels (in one area), 89 points from artillery shelling, 75 points from mortar shelling, and 33 points from rocket shelling (in various parts of Syria). FSA clashed with regime forces in 129 locations, in which FSA downed a helicopter that was trying to land in Meng Military Airport and closed Eraiqa Road at the Syrian-Lebanese Borders. FSA attacked the ammunition reservoirs in Qastal in Qalamoun area which caused big humanitarian and material losses to the regime forces. In Zabadani, FSA targeted Aqaba checkpoint. In Qatana, FSA gained control of Salam Highway and killed more than 30 soldiers located at several checkpoints in the area, FSA also targeted a car carrying 3 officers from the Republican Guard and captured the ammunition carried in their car. In Deir Ezzor, FSA besieged the Missile Brigade 113. In Hama, FSA stormed the Cement Factory in Kafarbaham and gained control of it. In Daraa, FSA gained control of Police Stations 64 and 64 in Thar Ghafari area, killed several soldiers of regime forces and stormed Baqaá checkpoint. In Hasaka, FSA gained control of the biggest oil fields. In Aleppo, FSA liberated Asan checkpoint at Aleppo International Highway, regained control of Air Defense Battalion in Tal Hasel town and controlled Bab Al-Faraj Clock and Abarat Kahrabaá in Manshiya area. FSA also destroyed several military vehicles belonging to the regime forces in different parts of Syria Shelling...destruction...and arrests are practices of the Syrian regime in order to suppress the people from their freedom, but the Syrian people prove every week through their demonstrations that freedom is their most important possession. The Local Coordination Committees in Syria have documented 308 demonstrations in different cities and areas of Syria. The largest number of protests was in Idlib, which had a total of 91 demonstration, calling for all Syrians to return to the liberated areas. Hama follows with 53 demonstrations in total for the Free Syrian Army, asking them to act according to the principles of the revolution. In Deir Ezzor, there was a total of 37 demonstrations. The people of Deir Ezzor sang old revolutionary songs and stressed the importance of returning to the dignified principles of the revolution and the importance of building a Syria for all. In Damascus and its suburbs, there 32 demonstrations took place despite the suffocating siege and the constant shelling. They insisted on demonstrated that they were waiting for the revolutionaries on the outside to help those inside, especially the managements of liberated areas. In Homs, 12 demonstrations took place chanting against the regime and against all those who assisted in killing the Syrian people. In Hasakeh, 6 demonstrations took place.
