A group of rogue Force Recon Marines led by disenchanted Brigadier General Francis X Hummel (Harris) seize a stockpile of deadly VX gas--armed rockets from a heavily guarded military bunker, reluctantly leaving one of their men to die in the process. The next day, Hummel and his men seize control of Alcatraz Island during a guided tour and take 81 tourists hostage in the prison cells. Hummel then threatens the Pentagon with launching the stolen rockets against the population of San Francisco unless the government pays ransom and reparations to the families of Recon Marines who died on illegal, clandestine missions under his command and whose deaths were not honored. The Pentagon and FBI develop a plan to retake the island with a Navy SEAL Team, enlisting chemical weapons specialist Dr. Stanley Goodspeed (Cage), who initially thinks he's consulting the team, but soon learns he's being recruited due to his specialisation in chemical warfare.

This is a university video-project made by "Game Design"-students from munich.
Done in a single-shot fashion...well almost single shot =)
The film covers different eras of the video-game history.
Took us a week to organise the various props (controllers, monitors. lighting, camera, etc.), two whole days to film and several days of postproduction.
It isn't perfect, but hopefully fun to watch nevertheless ,)

We're quite aware that we could have used more games or different games but we just wanted to show a small insight into the history of videogames that just shows how far we've come and where our roots are buried.
A small FAQ:
There are Playstation 1,2 and 3 devices, just pay close attention or read the credits =)
I noticed that many of you are missing the XBox and Halo on it. It was planned but my friend with the controller called me just before the day of the shooting and said he couldn't find it =( Sorry
Ecco and the dreamcast were mainly meant to show a flop in game history (please don't kill me for saying that =) ! If you have a different opinion on this one it's cool. We don't mean to insult anyone).
Why didn't we just cover...everything?!—due to the limited time that we had for this project it was hard enough to gather all controllers and output devices we used. And we're quite aware that it's not always the best possible combination of game pad and monitor =)
We didnt use XBox Kinect or Playstation Move because the technology isn't new.
And remember this is (almost) a one-shot (= no cuts used) => the more games/controllers, the harder it gets—one mistake and you can start over.
We captured a total of 45takes.

Maachis
'Maachis' is a true story inspired by the 1984 Sikh riots after the assassination of Indira Gandhi, the Prime Minister of India. The police started assaulting innocent Sikh families which led to many youths joining extremist groups to revolt against an oppressive regime. Kripal (Chandrachur Singh) lives peacefully with his best friend Jaswant (Raj Zutshi) and is in love with Jaswants's sister, Veeran (Tabu). Their peaceful life is disrupted when the police wrongfully arrest Jaswant and subject him to third degree torture. After several days, Jaswant returns but seeing his friend in a horrible and dreaded state, Kripal vows to take revenge against the police. Kripal joins an extremist group headed by a commander (Kulbhushan Kharbanda) which includes Sanatan (Om Puri) and Jaimal (Jimmy Shergill) who all are aching to burn down the government. How will innocent Kripal who has transformed into a dreaded terrorist go on to seek vengeance?

Susie Q is a 1995 Super RTL Original movie that aired on Disney Channel frequently in the late 1990s. Justin Whalin, Amy Jo Johnson and Shelley Long starred. The movie told the story of a teenager dying with her boyfriend on her way to their Winter Formal back in the mid-1950s and coming back to her old house about 40 years later in order to help her parents avoid being kicked out of their trailer park home. Later, Zach (Whalin) moves into Susie's (Johnson) old house, but he is the only one who is able to see Susie. Disney Channel stopped showing the movie later in the new millennium. It was given a "TV-G" rating, and it was already cut for some profanity, but not all, when it primarily aired on the Disney Channel.
