'Amalfi Coast' - Italy by Laderzi´s Travels
AMALFI COAST The Amalfi Coast, or Costiera Amalfitana in Italian, is a stretch of coastline on the southern side of the Sorrentine Peninsula of Italy (Province of Salerno), extending from Positano in the west to Vietri sul Mare in the east. The main town close to the Amalfi Coast is Salerno, the municipalities belonging to its coast are Vietri sul Mare, Cetara, Maiori, Tramonti, Minori, Ravello, Scala, Atrani, Amalfi, Conca dei Marini, Furore, Praiano and Positano. Very close to the territory of the coast (near Furore and Conca dei Marini) is it situated Agerola, located in the Sorrentine Peninsula and belonging to the Province of Naples. Renowned for its rugged terrain, scenic beauty, picturesque towns and diversity, the Amalfi Coast was featured in Positano (1953) by American writer John Steinbeck. *** Amalfi is a town and comune in the province of Salerno, in the region of Campania, Italy, on the Gulf of Salerno, c. 35 km southeast of Naples. It lies at the mouth of a deep ravine, at the foot of Monte Cerreto (1315 meters, 4314 feet), surrounded by dramatic cliffs and coastal scenery. The town of Amalfi was the capital of the Maritime Republic of Amalfi, an important trading power in the Mediterranean between 839 and around 1200. In the 1920s and 1930s, Amalfi was a popular holiday destination for the British upper class and aristocracy. Amalfi is the main town of the coast on which it is located, named Costiera Amalfitana, and is today an important tourist destination ...

Please support the ministry! www.ligonier.org www.ligonier.org MESSAGE INTRODUCTION Apologetics is positive and negative. It sets forth the reasons for belief, and it tears down the opposing arguments. But if you can't argue anyone into the kingdom, why do it in the first place? Let's find out from Dr. Sproul. LEARNING OBJECTIVES 1. To understand the offensive and defensive sides of apologetics. 2. To understand the difference between proof and persuasion. 3. To learn to appreciate and rely on the Scriptures and the rich tradition of apologetics as we confront the challenges of today. QUOTATION AND THOUGHTS Obstreperous (adj.): noisily resisting control or defying commands [from Latin, obstreperous, noisy] St. Thomas Aquinas (1225—1274): Scholastic philosopher and theologian, born in Roccasecca, Italy. Most significant pre-Trent Catholic scholar other than Augustine. Three years after his death, a number of his views were condemned by Catholic authorities in Paris and Oxford, but in 1323, he was canonized by Pope John XXII, and in 1879, Pope Leo XIII issued an encyclical commending all his works to Catholic scholars. LECTURE OUTLINE I. Apologetics: Positive and Negative a) We must state our position, positively affirming what the Christian church believes, if we are ...

Michelle Poynton's "Pope Joan"
"Pope Joan," a compelling new drama by BU alumna Michelle Poynton, recounts the scandal surrounding the ninth century German woman who, legend has it, disguised herself as a man in order to be educated in Rome. There, she was so successful with her studies that she was invited to the Vatican, where she moved up the ranks to become Pope after the death of Leo IV, reigning for two years. Rumor has it that she then became pregnant, fell from her horse, went into labor, and gave birth in the street, after which she was proclaimed the Anti-Christ and stoned to death. Presented as part of the Boston University College of Fine Arts' InCite Arts Festival, the production is directed by graduate directing student Tara Matkosky and features actors and designers from the BU School of Theatre. Each performance will be followed by an interactive talkback with the director, playwright, and cast, and the performance on March 7 will be preceded by a discussion on the topic Women as Mythic Legend. This remarkable work was developed in 2008 as part of the BU School of Theatres New Play Initiative, and is the Schools official entry in the prestigious Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival.

The Ascent of Man (5 of 6) Knowledge or Certainty - Jacob Bronowski
Leo Szilard "Into this pond were flushed the ashes of some four million people. And that was not done by gas. It was not done by arrogance. It was done by dogma. I was done by ignorance. When people believe that they have absolute knowledge, with no test in reality, this is how they behave. This is what men do when they aspire to the knowledge of gods." Continuing Dr Bronowski's personal view of man's major discoveries and the evolution of his thought. This programme highlights the achievement of twentieth century physics in proving that absolute certainty inside or outside science is outside our grasp.

Self proclaimed "Bible Believer" errors utterly axed down at the very root with-the-bible.
Exposing one of the origins of the great apostasy which we're witnessing in our day. Many are totally clueless, lost or have abandoned the one-true-Christian-faith all together because of the heresies which are exposed in this video which inspired the demonic french revolution. The effects of which have now come to fruition in our time. St. Thomas Aquinas: "Wisdom may fill the hearts of the faithful, and put to silence the dread folly of heretics, fittingly referred to as the-gates-of-Hell." Pope St. Leo IX, Sept. 2, 1053: "The holy Church built upon a rock, that is Christ, and upon Peter... because by the-gates-of-Hell, that is, by the disputations-of-heretics which lead the vain to destruction, it would never be overcome." *Very important Catholic teaching for all Catholics. This is Tradition by the way: Pope Pius IV, Council of Trent, Sess. 13, Chap. 4: "These are the matters which in general it seemed well to the sacred Council to teach to the faithful of Christ regarding the sacrament of order. It has, however, resolved to condemn the contrary in definite and appropriate canons in the following manner, so-that-all, making use of the rule of faith, with the assistance of Christ, may-be-able-to-recognize more easily the Catholic-truth-in-the-midst of the darkness of-so-many-errors." 188, par. 4 of the 1917 Code: "all offices whatsoever fall vacant and without any declaration if the cleric...publicly defects from the Catholic Faith." City In The Sky (Orvieto, Italy)
blip.tv "LIKE" on FACEBOOK: www.facebook.com "FOLLOW" on TWITTER: @spinthecompass DESCRIPTION: Last night I couldn't sleep again. I set my alarm for 3:30 hoping i'd actually sleep but instead I stayed up looking out the window, watching time pass till my alarm actually went off. ; We had to be at the bus station in Zagreb before 8am. I grabbed a bite to eat, we'll call it breakfast, then we got on the bus for that 12 hour ride to Rome. I hate that feeling, knowing I went to the washroom but scared i'll need to go again as soon as the bus leaves. No-one wants to be the one with the weak ass blabber raising there hand up while hiding behind the seat to ask the bus driver to pull over. From the highway we passed by some of Croatia's coastal towns like Trsat in Rijeka, Opatija, Pula then through Slovania stopping every now and then to stretch, unload, reload and have a cigarette. As we pass through Umbria Italy the people on the bus fumble to get out of there seats. Amidst the Owwws, awwwws and cameras flashing i get outta my seat to see a city which seems to rise out of the earth towards the sky. I know I've been on this bus for awhile now, so I rub my eyes to make sure I ain't seeing shit. Orvieto, the city in the sky sits on a flat summit of a large butte of volcanic tuff. We get off the tour bus and take two separate buses up this winding road to the top. As soon as you step off the bus you are dwarfed by the massive Orvieto Cathedral. The Vatican
The name "Vatican" predates Christianity and comes from the Latin Mons Vaticanus, meaning Vatican Mount.[19] The territory of Vatican City is part of the Mons Vaticanus, and of the adjacent former Vatican Fields. It is in this territory that St. Peter's Basilica, the Apostolic Palace, the Sistine Chapel, and museums were built, along with various other buildings. The area was part of the Roman rione of Borgo until 1929. Being separated from the city, on the west bank of the Tiber river, the area was an outcrop of the city that was protected by being included within the walls of Leo IV (847--55), and later expanded by the current fortification walls, built under Paul III (1534--49), Pius IV (1559--65) and Urban VIII (1623--44).

ROMA, Chiesa dei santi Nereo ed Achilleo con affreschi del Pomarancio (manortiz)
Santi Nereo e Achilleo is a fourth-century basilica church in Rome, Italy, located in via delle Termi di Caracalla in the rione Celio facing the main entrance to the Baths of Caracalla.[1] The current Cardinal Priest of the Titulus Ss. Nerei et Achillei is Theodore Edgar McCarrick. History A 337 eptaph inscription in the Basilica di San Paolo fuori le Mura celebrates the late Cinnamius Opas, lector of a church known as Titulus Fasciolae; the name has traditionally been explained as the place where St. Peter lost the foot bandage (fasciola) that wrapped the wounds caused by his chains, on his way to escape the Mamertine Prison. In the acts of the synod of Pope Symmachus, in 499, the Titulus Fasciolae is recorded as served by five priests. This same building is recorded as titulus Sanctorum Nerei et Achillei in 595; therefore the dedications to Sts. Nereus and Achilleus, two soldiers and martyrs of the 4th century, must date to the sixth century. In 814, Pope Leo III rebuilt the old titulus. In the 13th century the relics of the two martyrs were transferred from the Catacomb of Domitilla to the Sant'Adriano, whence they were transferred to this church by Cardinal Baronius. The church degradated with the time, and in 1320, according to the Catalogue of Turin, it was a presbyterial title with no priest serving. So Pope Sixtus IV restored the church in occasion of the Jubilee of 1475, while the Jubilee of 1600 was the occasion for the last major restoration, funded by the ...

Vaticanus In HD
www.zazzle.com ProVaticanus.blogspot.com On 1 November 1624, on the anniversary of the consecration of Constantine's Basilica by Saint Sylvester, the new Basilica was consecrated by Urban VIII. "It should be noted", we read in the manuscript of Francesco Speroni, a beneficed cleric of the Basilica, "that the main altar was not consecrated, having already been consecrated by Clement VIII on 28 June 1594; but it was raised higher by two steps, ob opus magnificentissimum ibi collocandum". The opus was the work Bernini was preparing and for which he had made successive models from 1622 to 1626: namely the famous baldacchino. The artist took his inspiration from the old one, but raised his to the height of 64 feet, all in bronze, with spiral columns which repeat the rhythm of those in the pergolas he had already placed in the tribunes of the four pilasters. The copper was taken from the ribs of the cupola (which were recovered with lead), and also, in large measure, from the bronze lattice of the portico of the Pantheon, as we are told by the commemorative stone inserted there. This work was officially inaugurated by the Pope during First Vespers of the feast of Saint Peter in 1633. Baldacchino Mainly bronze, partly gilt. Principal sculptural parts: four giant bronze angels above the columns, two pairs of putti with tiara and St Peter's keys and two pairs with sword and book, emblems of St Paul, between the scrolls; further small bronze putti on the shafts of the columns ...

My Catholic Video (Proof that Rome has lost the faith!!!)
This video contains pictures of Our Lady of La Salette & Good Success, Pope Leo XIII, St. Nicholas Flue, & Ven. Anna Emmerick predicting the crisis in the Church we can see today, where Rome has literally: "..lost the faith.." (Our Lady of La Salette). There is also picture EVIDENCE of heresies being committed by the Vatican II Anti- Popes. The music in the background is Ave Maria by Arsys Bourgogne. If you are not aware of the position known of as Sedeimpetitism which is actually the REALITY circumstance of our times, I would like to put you up to date on some information. Sedeimpetitism also known of as Sedevacantism is the position which states a heretic can't be a Pope & thus the recent claimants to the Papacy are/ have not been valid Popes for teaching heresies. Now: (Why is Sedevacantism valid today?) - Our Lady of La Salette, 1846, an approved apparition of the Church: " Rome will lose the Faith & become the seat of the Anti- Christ.. the Church will be in a total eclipse." Sacred scripture predicts that in the holy place itself there will be "the abomination of desolation" (Mt. 24: 15), & a deception so profound that if it were possible, even the elect would be deceived (Mt. 24: 24). The New Testament tells us that this deception will happen in the very heart of the Church's physical structures, in ""the Temple of God" (2 Thess. 2:4). It will arise because people receive no the love of truth (2 Thessalonians 2: 10). The Great Apostasy will be so horrible that ...

Nostradamus & World War 3 Prophecies
A world authority on prophecy and Nostradamus, John Hogue discussed the accelerated sequence of events which he thinks indicate World War III has begun. The following Nostradamus quatrain is one that he presented to support his conclusion: In the year when Saturn and Mars are equally fiery, The air is very dry, a long comet: From hidden fires a great place burns with heat, Little rain, hot wind, wars and raids. Both Saturn and Mars are astrologically in the fire sign of Leo and we are currently undergoing an intense heat wave, he noted. And the long comet could actually be a description of the missiles that are being launched between Israel and Lebanon. However, World War III, as Hogue sees it, is different than the previous world wars. It is more like a "thirty year" war characterized by flare ups that explode, diminish and flare up again. He sees the civil war in Iraq and the Ayatollahs in Iran as trigger points for radical Islam, and sources for escalating the conflict in the Middle East. Biography: John Hogue writes on the subjects of the occult, parapsychology, mysticism and prophecy. He is considered a world authority on Nostradamus and is the best-selling author of numerous books, including Nostradamus: The Complete Prophecies and Nostradamus: The New Millennium, The Millennium Book of Prophecy, The Last Pope, and Messiahs: The Visions and Prophecies for the Second Coming. His work has brought him international acclaim. He has been published in 18 languages and sold ...

Pope's blessing of the statue Virgin Mary of Loreto at Rome's airport will be postponed
Since the fifteenth century, and possibly even earlier, the "Holy House" of Loreto has been numbered among the most famous shrines of Italy. Loreto is a small town a few miles south of Ancona and near the sea. Its most conspicuous building is the basilica. This dome-crowned edifice, which with its various annexes took more than a century to build and adorn under the direction of many famous artists, serves merely as the setting of a tiny cottage standing within the basilica itself. Though the rough walls of the little building have been raised in height and are cased externally in richly sculptured marble, the interior measures only thirty-one feet by thirteen. An altar stands at one end beneath a statue, blackened with age, of the Virgin Mother and her Divine Infant. As the inscription, Hic Verbum caro factum est, reminds us, this building is honoured by Christians as the veritable cottage at Nazareth in which the Holy Family lived, and the Word became incarnate. Another inscription of the sixteenth century which decorates the eastern facade of the basilica sets forth at greater length the tradition which makes this shrine so famous.
