Troad
The Troad (/ˈtroʊˌæd/ or /ˈtroʊəd/) or Troas /ˈtroʊəs/ is the historical name of the Biga peninsula (modern Turkish: Biga Yarımadası, Ancient Greek: Τρῳάς) in the northwestern part of Anatolia, Turkey. This region now is part of the Çanakkale province of Turkey. Bounded by the Dardanelles to the northwest, by the Aegean Sea to the west and separated from the rest of Anatolia by the massif that forms Mount Ida, the Troad is drained by two main rivers, the Scamander (Karamenderes) and the Simois, which join at the area containing the ruins of Troy.
Grenikos, Kebren, Simoeis, Rhesos, Rhodios, Heptaporos and Aisepos were seven rivers of the Troad and the names of the river gods that inhabited each river.
History
The Troad gets its name from the Hittites' name for the region, Taruiša. This identification was first put forth by Emil Forrer, but largely disputed by most Hittite experts until 1983 when Houwink ten Cate showed that two fragments were from the same original cuneiform tablet and in his discussion of the restored letter showed that Taruiša and Wiluša (Troy) were correctly placed in northwestern Anatolia. According to Trevor Bryce, Hittite texts indicate a number of Ahhiyawan raids on Wilusa during the 13th century BC, which may have resulted in the overthrow of king Walmu. Bryce also said that archeological surveys conducted by John Bintliff in the 1970s showed that a powerful kingdom that held sway over northwestern Anatolia was based at Wilusa (Troy).

It's just a shame that the ship is so big and so far inland, that it's basically impossible for it to be moved. But, King Trode has an idea! He says we should go back to Trodain and look in the castle's library for information about this ship. The Ancient Assos | Acropolis and high towers on the beautiful hill
We are still on the acropolis and I wanna show you more around here. Follow us on this trip around Mediterranean and Europe.. Please subscribe our channel and share your ideas with us. Many of the old buildings of Assos are in ruins today, but Behramkale (the city's modern name) is still active. It still serves as a port for the Troad. On the acropolis 238 m above sea level are the remains of the Doric order Temple of Athena, which date back to 530 BC. Six of the original 38 columns remain. Leh Ladakh Road Trip Day 2: Manali (21st June 2015):
Arrive in Manali at 9 am, leisure day in Manali, chill out at hot spring waters in Vashishtha Village, hang out at various cafes in Old Manali, or just chill by a lonely stretch of the Beas river
Leh Ladakh Road Trip Day 3: Manali -- Jispa (22nd June 2015):
After breakfast leave for Jispa (5--6 hours drive via Rohtang Pass, where landscape changes from lush green Manali side to arid, rugged peaks of Lahaul & Chandra Valley). The afternoon is free to explore. Night rest at guest house in Jispa.
Leh Ladakh Road Trip Day 4: Jispa -- Leh (23rd June 2015):
Today is one of the longest days of this delhi to leh by road holiday wherein we cross the high altitude passes of Baralachala & Lachangla, then the mighty Skyangchu thang (Biggest & highest plateau on earth on a stretch of 42 Kms). After crossing the mighty Tanglalng la we start descending towards the Indus Valley. We will check--in to the Guest House in Leh by late evening.
Leh Ladakh Road Trip Day 5: Leh (24th June 2015):
Discover the monasteries of Indus Valley including Thiksey, Shey, Stok & Matho. Spend the evening discovering the local culture of Leh.
Leh Ladakh Road Trip Day 6: Leh -- Nubra Valley (Khardung La) (25th June 2015):
Journey towards the ancient Silk Route via the highest motorable road on earth (Khardungla 18384 feet). Visit the famous Deskit Gompa of Nubra Valley. Walk on the sand dunes and ride the double humped camel (Bactrian camels brought to Ladakh by ancient Silk Route traders). Night Stay in Nubra.
Leh Ladakh Road Trip Day 7: Nubra -- Leh (26th June 2015):
By late afternoon we come back to Leh and chill or roam around Shanti Stupa, Leh Palace & Leh Monastery.
Ladakh Road Trip Day 8: Leh- Pangong Tso (27th June 2015):
Today in this delhi to leh by road holiday you will discover the myriad colours and shades of Pangong lake. Leave Leh in the morning and cross the third highest motorable pass (Changla) on earth. Spend good 3--4 hours by the great Pangong, 2/3rd of which lies inside the China border. Overnight at Camps by the Pangong Lake.

The city was founded from 1000 to 900 BC by Aeolian colonists from Lesbos, who specifically are said to have come from Methymna. The settlers built a Doric Temple to Athena on top of the crag in 530 BC.
From this temple Hermias of Atarneus, a student of Plato, ruled Assos, the Troad and Lesbos for a period of time, under which the city experienced its greatest prosperity.

It's just a shame that the ship is so big and so far inland, that it's basically impossible for it to be moved. But, King Trode has an idea! He says we should go back to Trodain and look in the castle's library for information about this ship. Basically, we travel back to Trodain by going through a path in the mountains next to the wasteland.

It's just a shame that the ship is so big and so far inland, that it's basically impossible for it to be moved. But, King Trode has an idea! He says we should go back to Trodain and look in the castle's library for information about this ship. Basically, we travel back to Trodain by going through a path in the mountains next to the wasteland.
