OpenCL Galaxies Demo
This is the Galaxies Demo running in OpenCL on a Quad Core 2.8GHz Mac Pro with 8800GT (rendered in OpenGL using my 7600GT since there were blank frames in the recorded video when I rendered it on the 8800GT). This is done in real time at 30 FPS. It shows around 160 Gflops, but I believe that's due to it not wanting to go above 30 FPS. In the 32000 star version, it does 195 Gflops (but only 9 FPS). In both cases, it's doing about 21 ops per star per star per update. For example: 21 * 16000 * 16000 * 30 = 161 Gflops 21 * 32000 * 32000 * 9 = 193 Gflops. Supposedly the GTX285 can get 400 Gflops. The song is "Space Debris" - a MOD I've had for about 15 years. I thought it was fitting.

Review:ECS Nvidia GTS250 Black
ECS GTS250 Black edition has a 3rd party cooler from arctic cooling, and its box really has got a nice looking lady over there! Bought it at a local store in Singapore and the price is really low because Nvidia has already stopped making these cards and moving on to the fermi architechture. You can call this a renamed 9800gtx, but comparing the price, it is still a lot cheaper. GTX9800 is quite a old card already. Nvidia improved power consumption on this card It requires only a 6-pin pci-e power connector. Outputs HD audio via you HDMI cable to your HDTV. You need to use the DVI to HDMI converter provided in the box. Manufacturer: nVidia Series: GeForce GTX 200 GPU: G92+ Release Date: 2009-03-03 Interface: PCI-E 2.0 x16 Core Clock: 738 MHz Shader Clock: 1836 MHz Memory Clock: 1100 MHz (2200 DDR) Memory Bandwidth: 70.4 GB/sec FLOPS: 470.016 GFLOPS Pixel Fill Rate: 11808 MPixels/sec Texture Fill Rate: 47232 MTexels/sec

Apple's new Ipad 4 A6x Graphics Chip what you need to know
Apple's Brand-new graphics engine increasing power from A5x predecessor while having a bulkier style that is 30% larger than the A6 used in Iphone 5. With its GPU quad-core PowerVR SGX 554MP4 from Imagination it packs a raw performance score of 76.8 GFLOPS and puts the Ipad into the gaming market. For more info visit techtweet.org

NVIDIA Tesla C1060 Computing Processor
The NVIDIA Tesla C1060 transforms a workstation into a high-performance computer that can dramatically outperform a small cluster. This gives technical professionals a dedicated computing resource at their desk-side that is much faster and more energy-efficient than a shared cluster in the data center. The Tesla C1060 is based on the massively parallel, many-core Tesla processor, which is coupled with the standard CUDA C programming environment to simplify many-core programming. The Tesla C1060 allows you to keep pace with the increasing demands of the toughest computing challenges including drug research, oil and gas exploration, and computational finance and its many-core architecture meets the computational demands of applications whose complexity has outstripped the CPUs ability to solve them. This NVIDIA HPC Computing Processor uses the only C language environment that unlocks the many-core processing power of GPUs to solve the worlds most computationally-intensive challenges. Capable of 933 GFLOPs/s of processing performance puts it near the performance of small supercomputers and 4 GB of GDDR3 memory onboard gives you a total bandwidth of 102 GB/s.

Rube Goldberg Machine Animation
This is an animation of a Rube Goldberg machine done in Blender. Info: -This video took about 2 minutes of dual-core processor time at about 2.25 GHz (about 18 GFLOPS for my processor) to compute the physics. -It took almost 13 hours of processor time to render the video. -This was done all in Blender. -The OSA (Oversampling) is set to 5. -This was rendered at 1920 by 1080. -The first frame is frame 1. The last is 1030. -The physics were computed at 30 fps. The video plays at 20 fps, so everything is 2/3 the speed that it should be. Funny things to notice: -The camera moves very quickly sometimes. This is partially because I'm new to blender, and partially because the "focus" of the machine sometimes changes rapidly. -The dominoes bounce at the right angle turn in the air. I'm not sure why. It probably has something to do with the angle and speed of impact. -The second-to-last big metal ball hovers above the tracks momentarily, and then goes through the tracks at the bottom of the tracks. I'm not sure why this happened either. -The metal rod that pushes the last metal sphere seems to jump around. I'm also not sure why. (If you have any explanations, feel free to comment!) Feel free to comment and I may reply if I notice the comment :) I am not involved in the production of Blender, however, it is free and open source software.

Kelvin--Helmholtz instability
This movies shows a subdomain of a two-dimensional, incompressible hydrodynamic simulation. The color represents vorticity. The initial condition has two thin layers of vorticity (one not shown) with small random perturbations. The vorticity sheets become unstable due to the Kelvin--Helmholtz instability. The simulation was done with grid size 4096x4096 on an nVidia GeForce GTX 580 card. I used only single precision float and reached 130 GFLOPS. The simulation software is written in CUDA C and available for free on fermi.mycloudnas.com . It uses Galerkin spectral method with 4th low-storage Runge-Kutta time integrator. I would like to thank PDC ( www.pdc.kth.se ) for providing the Zorn cluster, which makes the development possible. The Zorn cluster is named after a painter Anders Zorn ( http ) because it has GPUs.
