MICKEY ONE (1965) theatrical trailer Warren Beatty
Often described as a French New Wave film made in Hollywood, Arthur Penn's 1965 art movie enters the unsettlingly paranoid world of a nightclub comic on the run from the Mob. Having fooled around with the wrong blonde and gambled himself into an unpayable debt, an entertainer (Warren Beatty) flees to Chicago, where he hides out and changes his name to Mickey One. He hooks up with Jenny (Alexandra Stewart) and Castle (Hurd Hatfield), the owner of the nightclub Xanadu, but he cannot shake the paralyzing conviction that he's being pursued no matter where he is.

Martha Reeves & The Vandellas - Wild One (1965)
Inductees: Martha Reeves (vocals; born July 18, 1941), Rosalyn Ashford (vocals; born September 2, 1943), Betty Kelly (vocals; born September 16, 1944), Lois Reeves (birth date unknown), Annette Sterling (vocals; birth date unknown, 1942). From the outset, Martha Reeves voice possessed an earthy, direct quality that distinguished her from other female singers - such as sultry Mary Wells or demure Diana Ross - at Motown. Her voice bore the righteous fervor of gospel and the flinty edginess of rhythm & blues, which, combined with Motowns stylized pop-soul approach, made for a compelling package. Together with her backup singers, the Vandellas, Reeves recorded a classic run of singles in the mid-Sixties, most of them composed by the songwriting team of Brian Holland, Lamont Dozier and Eddie Holland. The Vandellas hit streak included what may be the definitive Motown anthem, Dancing in the Street, as well as such danceable blockbusters as (Love Is Like a) Heat Wave, Nowhere to Run and Jimmy Mack. The eldest of eleven children, Reeves began singing with the Del-Phis in 1960. She was discovered in 1961 at Detroits fabled Twenty Grand Club, where Motown A&R; man Mickey Stevenson heard her perform Reeves prize for having won a talent contest. She was invited to drop by the Motown Hitsville compound the next day. Initially, she did secretarial work in the A&R; department and sang background vocals on records by the likes of Marvin Gaye (most audibly on Pride and Joy and Hitchhike ...

mimicri.restorm.com Music: Mimicri - Album: Smooth - Featuring Tinguely Fountain & Nile Crocodile video & music created & produced at mimicri's tüfftell factory (c) 2010 pmb Jean Tinguely (22 May 1925 in Fribourg, Switzerland -- 30 August 1991 in Bern) was a Swiss painter and sculptor. He is best known for his sculptural machines or kinetic art, in the Dada tradition; known officially as metamechanics. Tinguely's art satirized the mindless overproduction of material goods in advanced industrial society. Tinguely grew up in Basel, but moved to France as a young adult to pursue a career in art. He belonged to the Parisian avantgarde in the mid-twentieth century and was one of the artists who signed the New Realist's manifesto (Nouveau réalisme) in 1960. His best-known work, a self-destroying sculpture titled Homage to New York (1960), only partially self-destructed at the Museum of Modern Art, New York City, although his later work, Study for an End of the World No. 2 (1962), detonated successfully in front of an audience gathered in the desert outside Las Vegas. In Arthur Penn's Mickey One (1965) the mime-like Artist (Kamatari Fujiwara) with his self-destructive machine is an obvious Tinguely tribute..

Michel Legrand Orchestra - Flight - featuring Stan Getz
In the 1960s Eddie Sauter wrote two excellent scores for Stan Getz Focus (1961) and Mickey One (1965) they prompted some of Getz's most inspired playing -- by turns lyrical and dramatic artistic outpourings. No wonder that Getz is many jazzers' favourite tenor saxist. His lyrical improvisations stand up impressively against some of classical music's great concertos. In 1971 Legrand and Getz got together and although Focus and Mickey One threw down a formidable gauntlet Legrand's highly imaginative charts using voices stings organ etc were sonically more wide ranging than Sauter but comparisons between the two highly impressive, creations are somewhat invidious. Getz in Flight mode recalls Night Rider from the Focus album.

Mickey and Sylvia - Love Is Strange
Mickey & Sylvia was an R&B; duo composed of Mickey "Guitar" Baker and Sylvia Van der Pool Robinson. They were the first big seller for Groove Records.[1] Mickey "Guitar" Baker was a music instructor, and Sylvia Robinson was one of his pupils. His guitar stylings, especially the insane soloing on "Love Is Strange", inspired a plethora of guitarists, including Sterling Morrison of the Velvet Underground. Mickey & Sylvia had a hit with "Love Is Strange" in 1957. They continued to record together until 1965. After that, Mickey had a successful career as a studio musician. Sylvia had a huge hit (#1 R&B;, #3 Pop) in 1973 with the song "Pillow Talk", and later assisted in the formation of the Sugar Hill rap label.

Bloody Pit of Horror (1965)
Bloody Pit of Horror (Original Italian title: Il Boia Scarlatto) is a 1965 Italian gothic horror film based on the writings of Marquis de Sade and directed by Massimo Pupillo. The film, set in Italy, stars Mickey Hargitay, Walter Brandi, Luisa Baratto and Rita Klein, and tells the story of a group of women modeling for a photo shoot for the cover of novels, when the owner of the castle starts to become The Crimson Executioner, who is bent on their deaths. The film is in the public domain.[1][2] A former actor named Travis Anderson lives in a castle with only his two bodyguards to keep him company. It just so happens that a book publisher and his crew sneak in to take some photos, thinking the castle empty. When they are discovered they are asked to leave immediately. But then Travis recognizes one of the girls as his former girlfriend Edith. He relents and lets them all stay the night. It isn't long before the evil spirit of a former resident known as 'The Crimson Executioner' is released by accident. It possesses Travis, who then takes it upon himself to punish his unwelcome guests for their physical and spiritual imperfections. [edit] Incognito Cinema Warriors XP The film was featured on MSTing show Incognito Cinema Warriors XP in 2009. The characters greatly ridiculed the overly-elaborate torture devices that The Crimson Executioner employs on his victims, as well as mocking the un-heroic nature of protagonist Walter Brandi, who repeatedly tries to save the other ...

Bloody Pit of Horror (1965) Full Movie - Part 1/9
A publisher, a photographer and a handful of pretty models break into an Italian castle to shoot cover photos for a series of pulp novels. Unbeknownst to them, the castle is inhabited by a maniac in a supervillain costume who is possessed by the spirit of a Sadean serial killer, known only as the Crimson Executioner, who was put to death in the dungeon hundreds of years previously. Over-the-top mayhem ensues. Bloody Pit of Horror is a delirious, mostly harmless, high-camp forgotten cult gem from the 1960s. Extremely entertaining with a beer or three. The Righteous Brothers - "Ebb Tide" (1965)
The Righteous Brothers were the musical duo of Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield. They recorded from 1963 through 1975, and continued to perform until Hatfield's death in 2003. Their emotive vocal stylings were sometimes dubbed "blue-eyed soul". Medley and Hatfield both possessed exceptional vocal talent, with range, control and tone that helped them create a strong and distinctive duet sound and also to perform as soloists. Medley sang the low parts with his deep, soulful bass, with Hatfield taking the higher register vocals with his soaring tenor. They adopted their name in 1962 while performing together in the Los Angeles area as part of a five-member group called The Paramours., which featured John Wimber, one of the founders of the Vineyard Movement, on keyboards. At the end of one particular performance, a Marine in the audience shouted, "That was righteous, brothers!", prompting the pair to adopt the name when they embarked on a career as a duo. John Wimber (then as Johnny Wimber) brought Bobby Hatfield and Bill Medley together for the band the Paramours in 1962. The Righteous Brothers started their recording career on the small Moonglow label in 1963 with two albums and two moderate hits: "Little Latin Lupe Lu" and "My Babe". Their first major hit single was "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'" on the Philles label in 1965. Produced by Phil Spector, the record is often cited as one of the peak expressions of Spector's Wall of Sound production techniques. It was one of ...

Mickey Mantle 1973 - His Last Home Run in Yankee Stadium, OTD, 8/11/1973
YanksAtShea finds another archival goodie (some video-audio problems). Here's Mickey Mantle, the magnificent Yankee, hitting his last (unofficial) home run in the original Yankee Stadium before 46000 + on Old Timer's Day 1973. Mick's buddy Whitey Ford serves up some nice ones for this homer finale (this is also the last OTD in the original Yankee Stadium). Catch his first foul home run with Mel Allen encouraging him right afterwards to "Straighten it out, Mick!!" This is as sentimental a favorite if ever there was one. Long live Mickey, Whitey, Mel Allen, and the memories of the original Yankee Stadium.

MARVIN GAYE & KIM WESTON-baby i need your loving-1965
"It Takes Two" was a hit single recorded in late 1965 by Marvin Gaye and Kim Weston for Motown's Tamla label. Produced by Weston's then-husband, longtime Gaye collaborator William "Mickey" Stevenson, and co-written by Stevenson and Sylvia Moy, "It Takes Two" centered around a romantic lyric which depicted many things in life (dreams, love, wishes, etc.) being better with two people instead of one. The single became Gaye's most successful duet single to date, later outperformed by Gaye's duets with Tammi Terrell. Gaye and Weston's duet peaked at #14 on the Billboard Pop charts and #4 on Billboard's Soul Singles chart in January 1967. "It Takes Two" was also Gaye's first major hit in the UK, where it peaked at #16 on the British singles charts in the spring of that same year. Indie Music Video: In The Dumpster Light (Mickey's Song) by Indie Folker - The Crack (Musical)
FREE Download link to The Crack (Musical) album by Indie Folker: bit.ly Subscribe to the Indie Folker Youtube channel: bit.ly "In The Dumpster Light" by Transylvanian singer-songwriter Indie Folker is a song from "The Crack (Musical)" - an indie musical by the unsigned Transylvanian artist after the play "Fisura" by author Flavius Lucăcel. The video is a re-arrangement of some old rural civil defense TV spots from 1965. We've tried mixing all that footage in a way that tells a different story than the one it was originally meant to. Official Website: http//www.indiefolker.com Facebook:www.facebook.com Channel page: www.youtube.com Subscribe: bit.ly *** ALBUM DESCRIPTION *** The idea for this album came from Victor Olăhuţ who in 2011 had proposed making the play "Fisura" by Flavius Lucăcel into a full fledged musical. I really thought it would be easy to make that play into a musical. We both did. And we worked really hard to prove that. The play was written in Romanian, and all songs have an original Romanian text, but I have translated them for this record. The story is about Mickey and Annie, an old couple with an exceptional love for pickles, whose lives get disrupted by the appearance of a sudden crack on the wall of their beloved pantry. When the crack threatens to destroy their very livelihood, they must take every measure to stop it. But what unseen enemy can cause such great damage? Is it the trains, the dreaded car traffic or the tram? Whichever foe they might ...
