Pat Metheny Group - Minuano (We Live Here, Live in Japan)
DVD: http://smarturl.it/PatMethLiveHereDVD
Some six years after their previous studio album, the Pat Metheny Group regathered in 1995 to release the album "We Live Here". This was to be the first of a set of three albums that the band refer to as the "triptych", the others being "Quartet" (1996) and "Imaginary Day" (1997). Following the release of the album the Pat Metheny Group embarked on a world tour during which this concert was filmed in Japan. Many of the tracks from the "We Live Here" album are included along with others from their various eighties albums. There are short interview segments with the band members inserted between some of the songs which give an insight into the creation of the album and life on the tour.

Pat Metheny - And I Love Her (The Beatles)
"The Beatles were huge for me. Without them, I don't know if I even would have become a musician or a guitar player. When their hits started coming out, I was 8 and 9 years old and it had a tremendous impact on me. I saw the movie "A Hard Day's Night" multiple times when it came out and I always loved that song. It is kind of impossible to imagine doing a record like this without including at least one Beatles song." - Pat Metheny

PAT METHENY QUARTET - Live at Berliner Jazztage (1978r.)
The Pat Metheny Quartet is a jazz group founded in 1977. The core members of the group are guitarist and bandleader Pat Metheny, composer, keyboardist and pianist Lyle Mays (who was part of the group's inception in 1977), and bassist and producer Steve Rodby (joined in 1980). Other long-standing members include Paul Wertico who was the drummer for 18 years.
In 1978, bassist Mark Egan joined, with Mays, Metheny, and Gottlieb, and the first version of the Pat Metheny Group was formed. Metheny's next album formalized the relationship, and featured several songs co-written with Mays; the album was released in 1978 as the self-titled Pat Metheny Group on the ECM .
