Riggenbach's first book, In Praise of Decadence (1998), argued that the baby boomers turned out to be far more libertarian in their personal philosophy than had been expected. His second book, Why American History Is Not What They Say: An Introduction to Revisionism (2009), argued that political events and trends in late 20th Century America had led to a rebirth of popular interest in revisionist accounts of American history. In this study of American revisionists, Riggenbach identifies three distinct phases within American revisionism. Yevgeny Zamyatin's We: A Review and a Tribute
Contains commentary on and excerpts from Zamyatin's great dystopian novel. Set to a song I wrote that seemed to fit the cold menacing atmosphere of the novel. Images primarily by Kasimir Malevich, the Russian painter.

Banned Book Readout, Yevgeny Zamyatin's "We"
Excerpt from Yevgeny Zamyatin's "We". This novel was written in 1921 as a response to the Russian revolutions of 1905 and 1917. It was first banned by Goskomizdat, the Soviet censorship bureau, in 1921. The plot of "We" is incredibly similar to that of George Orwell's "Nineteen Eighty-Four"; it is widely thought that Orwell based his plot on Zamyatin's work. He also borrowed the outlines of his three central characters and the book's dramatic arc from "We". It is also widely believed that Zamyatin's piece influenced Aldous Huxley's "Brave New World". "We" was not published in Russia until 1988. It was banned because the government thought it was a call for a revolution. Zamyatin was banned from publishing any books in Russia after editions of "We" were released in other countries.

Mark Talks - Compagnie Par Terre/Anne Nguyen | Promenade Obligatoire
Because it is an unfree movement.’

"Job" accompanied by "Traumwerk Book III" of James Dillon
- Noriko Kawai, piano / Irvine Arditti, violin — "Imagine a square, a living, beautiful square. Imagine that this square is obliged to tell ou about itself, about its life. You realize that this square would hardly think it necessary to mention the fact that all its four angles are equal. It knows this too well. This is such an ordinary, obvious thing. I am in exactly the same square position." (Yevgeny Zamyatin, "We") — "Yes, because life is like that" — I work — You work — He works — We work — They work — "Labor omnia vincit improbus" « Le travail, c'est la liberté. » brahms.ircam.fr www.dicopo.fr
