Queens is the best part of NY
Being from Queens automatically qualifies you as a member of the elite. The tallest tree in the New York metropolitan area, called the Queens Giant, is also the oldest living thing in the New York metro area. It is located in northeastern Queens, and is 450 years old and 132 feet (40 m) tall as of 2005. The borough is often considered one of the more suburban boroughs (in comparison to Manhattan standards) of New York City. Queens is the largest in area, the second-largest in population.

12/11/2010 Minneapolis St Paul MN Metro area blizzard
The Minneapolis and Saint Paul metro region was hit hard with a record breaking amount of snow on Saturday. The cities just south and east of the metro area received 18 inches to 21.5 inches of snow. This video was shot in the southern Minneapolis, MN metro area from the Burnsville, MN area which is just south of the Minnesota River to the area around the Minneapolis International Airport and Mall of America in Bloomington and into Minneapolis itself. The snow caused hundreds of cars in the metro area to spin out and become stuck in the snow along several serious crashes with injuries. Driving was near impossible without a four wheel drive truck and even with a 4x4 truck, it was extremely difficult and dangerous to try and navigate the roadways. Heavy snow and high winds caused the Minneapolis - St. Paul International airport to shut down for a few hours until one of the four runways was able to be opened up for limited use operations. Delta Airlines, which runs about eighty percent of the airports traffic out of MSP had to cancel virtually all of its flights into and out of Minneapolis Saturday afternoon and evening. This major winter storm system stranded everyone. The New York Giants and Minnesota Vikings football game which was scheduled for Sunday 12/12/2010, had to be rescheduled for Monday night due to the fact that the New York Giants football team could not fly into Minneapolis due to the blizzard. In the video there are several clips of people stuck in the snow ...

When it comes to population growth, Houston is No. 1
New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago are still America's largest metropolitan areas. But of the nation's 366 metropolitan areas, none added more people than Houston over the 2000-2010 decade. Based on analyses of the 2000 and 2010 censuses by the Kinder Institute for Urban Research at Rice University, the greater Houston metropolitan area grew by a whopping 1231393 people, increasing by more than 123000 per year over the decade.

http://twitter.com/#!/ManiNasry
Mani Nasry an exceptionally talented filmmaker, actor and artist with a sophisticated breadth of education, skills, experience, and professional accomplishments. He trained as an actor and director in New York with Salem Ludwig and with Donna DeMatteo for playwriting. For Mani, the decision to work in the film industry guided his academic decisions from an early age. He attended a Toronto high school renowned for excellence in the arts, and was accepted into one of the highly competitive film program at Ryerson university. It is notable that he went to Ryerson with an already well-established career in theatre, film, television and commercial work, and a range of multi-faceted achievements including producing, cinematography, casting, writing, directing, acting, and editing. On his own he added stints in New York and Los Angeles with leading acting teachers, as well as learning the grace and style of many forms of dance and athletics. With courses perceptively, he has also recognized the importance of acquiring an understanding of the business side of the industry, and the varied aspects of technology and production. There are some people clearly born to follow the path they have chosen from the start. Mani Nasry has the passion to succeed, the curiosity and ingenuity required to lead and collaborate in an industry known for its impact and appeal, and the strength of character and work ethic to immerse himself in finding and telling an unforgettable story.

SILENCE OF DEATH directed by Mani Nasry (16MM FILM) 1ST YEAR RYERSON UNIVERSITY STUDENT FILM
IMDB PAGE
www.imdb.me/maninasry
This Scene expresses- FEAR- noun: an emotion experienced in anticipation of some specific pain or danger (usually accompanied by a desire to flee or fight). noun: a feeling of anxiety and agitation caused by the presence or nearness of danger, evil, pain, etc.; timidity; dread; terror; fright; apprehension. Terrify not your soul with vain imaginary fears. By realizing that you are the one feeding the fire, you can start to take control of your fears. Panic is a vicious cycle that can be broken. When you start to have irrational fears you need to take action quick. Eleanor Roosevelt once said: "You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing, which you think you cannot do." We must stop running away from things that frighten us, face our fears head on, and do the thing we fear the most. Most of the time we'll find out that the "thing" was not that scary after all. Our imaginations had behaved like a super fertilizer and grown a grotesque monstrosity in our minds. Remember, our imaginations are incredibly powerful. They can work against us, creating horrible images that leave us paralyzed with fear and they can also work for us, building a world where everything we do is an adventure, a miracle. And the most amazing thing is that we hold the power to control our minds - we allow fear to dominate our lives or we choose to dominate fear. Those are our only two choices.

Geography of Hope Film Festival REFLECTIONS ON WATER
The Geography of Hope Conference celebrating “Reflections on Water” will take place in early 2011 in Point Reyes Station. The event includes literary conversations, public art installations, a film festival, and field trips to farms, wetlands, and wilderness areas in the surrounding countryside. Meals prepared with Marin’s most delicious farm products will be served at two dinners at Toby’s Feed Barn during the conference.
The Geography of Hope Conference (March 19–20) is chaired by award-winning poets Robert Hass and Brenda Hillman. It also features a host of other established and emerging writers who will participate in lively panels and more intimate lunchtime conversations with participants.
Two new and unique art exhibitions will be part of the 2011 conference. Outdoor public art projects will be installed at selected sites in Point Reyes Station. On display for three months, they will be viewed by thousands of visitors to West Marin. A group show at Toby’s Gallery will showcase the work of artists in a variety of media exploring the nature and notions of water.
Also new this year is a companion film festival (February 25–27) which precedes the conference and promises to be a fascinating and lively introduction to the subject of “Reflections on Water.” Filmmakers may submit films until December 17, 2010, to withoutabox.com.
Founded in 2008, the Geography of Hope Conference has quickly become of Northern California’s most exceptional literary and arts events. It takes its name from Wallace Stegner’s famous “Wilderness Letter” in which he described wild landscapes as part of our “geography of hope.” Located in western Marin County where many of Stegner’s land conservation visions have come to fruition, the conference explores the relationship between people and the landscape through the voices of authors, environmentalists, farmers, artists, and filmmakers.
More information about the 2011 gathering is available at www.ptreyesbooks.com and on Facebook at Geography of Hope Conference.

New York City - US Cities
New York is the most populous city in the United States and the center of the New York Metropolitan Area, one of the most populous metropolitan areas in the world. New York exerts a significant impact upon global commerce, finance, media, art, fashion, research, technology, education, and entertainment. The home of the United Nations Headquarters, New York is an important center for international diplomacy and has been described as the cultural capital of the world. The city is also referred to as New York City or the City of New York[16] to distinguish it from the state of New York, of which it is a part. Located on one of the world's largest natural harbors, New York City consists of five boroughs, each of which comprises a state county. The five boroughs — The Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and Staten Island — were consolidated into a single city in 1898. With a 2010 United States Census population of 8175133 distributed over a land area of just 305 square miles (790 km2), New York is the most densely populated major city in the United States. As many as 800 languages are spoken in New York, making it the most linguistically diverse city in the world.
