Preview Loreto Baja Video (Loreto came in #8 in the New York Times list of top places to go in 2011)
Loreto came in #8 in the New York Times list of top places to go in 2011 8. Loreto, Mexico A beach hideaway with sport fishing gets a luxury resort. Long known for sport fishing, Loreto, on Baja California Sur's eastern coast, is poised to become one of Mexico's next luxury destinations. Loreto also has longstanding attractions to tout. It recently started a public relations campaign, with help from the Mexico Tourism Board, to highlight its colonial architecture, deserted beaches and marine life. Founded in 1697 by Jesuit missionaries, Loreto is home to the historic Mission of Our Lady Loreto, one of the first "California" missions. The baroque Mission of San Javier can be found nearby in the Sierra de la Giganta Mountains. Visitors can take day trips to see prehistoric rock art in the Sierra de San Francisco region of Baja California between Loreto and Bahia de Los Angeles. Five islands that make up the Loreto Bay National Marine Park, which covers 797 square miles in the Sea of Cortez, offer extensive snorkeling, kayaking, hiking, whale-watching and scuba-diving opportunities. The area is home to more than 800 species of marine life, including six-foot-long Humboldt squid. — MICHELLE HIGGINS Read the whole article here: travel.nytimes.com info at loretomagico@loretomagico.com

NOUMEA NEW CALEDONIA Nouvelle-Calédonie Kanaky, Le caillou ISLANDS
New Caledonia is a "sui generis collectivity" (in practice an overseas territory) of France, made up of a main island (Grande Terre) and several smaller islands. It is located in the region of Melanesia in the southwest Pacific. At about half the size of Taiwan, it has a land area of 18575.5 square kilometres (7172 sq mi). The population at the 2004 census was 230789 inhabitants. The capital and largest city of the territory is Nouméa. The currency is the CFP franc. Since 1986 the United Nations Committee on Decolonization has included New Caledonia on the United Nations list of Non-Self-Governing Territories, a highly political list that is disputed by France, Morocco, the United States, and the United Kingdom, which all have territories on the list. The list is partial and controversial because it does not cover all peoples and territorial entities in the world which are neither sovereign countries nor part of any sovereign country. New Caledonia will decide whether to remain within the French Republic or become an independent state in a referendum sometime after 2014. Its capital Nouméa is the seat of the regional organization the Secretariat of the Pacific Community (formerly the South Pacific Commission). WIKIPEDIA

French Ploynesia, Tahiti, Moorea, Bora Bora, Huahine, Raiatea, and Taha'a
French Polynesia covers over two million square miles of the South Pacific Ocean and is comprised of 118 islands spread over five great archipelagos. Many islands are crowned with jagged peaks while others just barely float above the breaking waves. Total land mass of all the islands equals an area slightly larger than the state of Rhode Island, but is spread over a region of the Pacific as large as Western Europe. The three archipelagos most sought by visitors are the Society Islands, comprised of Tahiti, Moorea, Bora Bora, Huahine, Raiatea and Taha'a; The Tuamotu Atolls or "Tahiti's Strand of Pearls", include the atolls of Rangiroa, Manihi, Tikehau, and Fakarava; and the Marquesas. The two other archipelagos, the Austral Islands and the Gambier Islands, lie to the south and the southeast, respectively, of the Society Islands. While very few travelers venture to these remote islands, those that do are not disappointed by the pristine environment. Legendary Tahiti has long been the vision of "la Nouvelle Cythere," the earthly paradise. Explorers Wallis, Bougainville, and Cook all told of a land of spellbinding beauty and enchantment, where the climate was delightful, hazardous insects unknown, and the natives welcoming. Rousseau's "noble savage" had been found! A few years later, Fletcher Christian and Captain Bligh's drama of sin and retribution culminated among Tahiti and her islands. The list of famous authors who traveled here and wrote of the region reads like a ...

"PALAWAN: NOT FIT FOR MINING".mp4
The province of Palawan is part of the Man and Biosphere Reserve program of UNESCO and hosts 49 animals and 56 botanical species found in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. Botanically, Palawan, with an estimated 3000-3500 flowering plant species, and its rich mangrove forest, is one of the most diverse and rich islands in the Archipelago. In the southernmost portion of Palawan, the Bulanjao range, with its unique ultramafic forest, is one of the best-conserved biodiversity hot spots on the island. A total of six major rivers from the mountain range supply water to both migrant and indigenous population. Due to its sizable deposit of nickel ore, the range and has been subjected to mineral exploration and development by the Rio Tuba Nickel Mining Corporation (RTNMC). The company claims that this mountain could provide the necessary source of ore feed needed by the processing plants of the Coral Bay Nickel Corporation (CBNC), thus doubling the annual production of nickel. Two Hydrometallurgical Processing Plants are presently operating in the neighboring lowland area. Recent GPS data indicates that road construction, as well as mining exploration and extractive activities on Mt. Bulanjao, have taken place in areas that, according to the Strategic Environmental Plan for Palawan (Republic Act 7611), fall into the so called Core Zones of maximum protection. The mining road on Bulanjao has already reached an altitude of almost 900 m ASL causing deforestation, severe soil ...

Best 10 Scuba dives in the Philippines
Just a few hours from the hustle and bustle of manila lies the idyllic island of Mindoro, on the northern end can be found puerto galera a wild life heaven, with tropical adventures to suit all tastes. The natural world is here in abundance, its no wonder why it is listed on the national heritage list of WWF, Scuba diving, trekking and island hopping are all your disposal, and after a long day soaking up the natural atmosphere the night life will keep you well dinned and entertained, fine restaurants for all culinary tastes can be found to go along with live music and dancing. This coastal town is well known among tourists for its numerous pocket beaches and many snorkeling and Scuba diving spots. The area was designated a Man and Biosphere Reserve of UNESCO in 1973 and has some of the most diverse coral reef diving in Asia. The marine environment has benefited in recent years from the influx of tourist dollars. This has seen a huge reduction in the number of fishermen in the area, as they gain higher revenue from tourists. Puerto Galera is a listed by the Club of the Most Beautiful Bays of the World, and is the only bay in the Philippines to be listed there. Among the famous beaches in Puerto Galera are Sabang Beach and White Beach, which have an active nightlife with numerous bars and restaurants. Both beaches also have an array of first-class and economy-class accommodations. Sabang beach is the main destination for foreign tourists, while White Beach remains popular ...

This was filmed between 4th and 11th April 2011. I had the pleasure of visiting El Teide.
Spain´s highest mountain @(3718m) is one of the best places in the world to photograph the stars and is also the location of Teide Observatories, considered to be one of the world´s best observatories.
The goal was to capture the beautiful Milky Way galaxy along with one of the most amazing mountains I know El Teide. I have to say this was one of the most exhausting trips I have done. There was a lot of hiking at high altitudes and probably less than 10 hours of sleep in total for the whole week. Having been here 10-11 times before I had a long list of must-see locations I wanted to capture for this movie, but I am still not 100% used to carrying around so much gear required for time-lapse movies.
A large sandstorm hit the Sahara Desert on the 9th April (http://bit.ly/g3tsDW) and at approx 3am in the night the sandstorm hit me, making it nearly impossible to see the sky with my own eyes.
Interestingly enough my camera was set for a 5 hour sequence of the milky way during this time and I was sure my whole scene was ruined. To my surprise, my camera had managed to capture the sandstorm which was backlit by Grand Canary Island making it look like golden clouds. The Milky Way was shining through the clouds, making the stars sparkle in an interesting way. So if you ever wondered how the Milky Way would look through a Sahara sandstorm, look at 00:32.

Earth
Time lapse sequences of photographs taken by the crew of expeditions
28 & 29 onboard the International Space Station from August to October,
2011, who to my knowledge shot these pictures at an altitude of around 350 km.
All credit goes to them.
HD, refurbished, smoothed, retimed, denoised, deflickered, cut, etc.
All in all I tried to keep the looks of the material as original as possible,
avoided adjusting the colors and the like, since in my opinion the original
footage itself already has an almost surreal and aestethical visual nature.

In February 2011, the five times world champions Fred Fugen and Vince Reffett from Soul Flyers were invited to Melbourne to provide advanced 3D coaching to some of Australia's leading Skydive athlete talent.
The goal of the Training camp and the production were:
1. To increase participation in our sport.
2. Provide greater pathways for our elite athletes.
Hopefully this video will give all that view it a different perspective of what skydiving can offer. Hopefully it will provoke some necessity to learn to fly in our wonderful three-dimensional environment- The Sky!

Atlanterhavsveien - Atlantic road
Situated in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway, Atlanterhavsveien (lit. The Atlantic Road) is the part of Norwegian national road 64 (Rv 64) that connects the island of Averøy to Vevang, Eide, on the mainland; by extension, the road connects the cities of Kristiansund and Molde. [1] Construction work on the road started on August 1, 1983, with the opening taking place on July 7, 1989. During this period there were no less than 12 hurricane-like storms in the area. The 8.3 km (5 mile) long road is built on several small islands and skerries, and is spanned by eight bridges and several landfills. This road has an open sea view which is not so common for roads along the Norwegian coast, since there are archipelagos that obscures this view. Here the distance between the islands is so small that a road could be built across the archipelago. In addition there are fjords and mountains inside the road. The spectacular road quickly became a popular tourist attraction to the extent that caution must be shown when driving it, as both the local population and visitors frequently use the road to go fishing for cod and other saltwater fish directly from the roadside. Atlanterhavsveien was voted "Norwegian Construction of the Century" on 27 September 2005, and is currently Norway's second most visited scenic road after Trollstigen (also in Møre og Romsdal). Atlanterhavsveien's sharp turns and wild nature have ranked it first on The Guardian's list of the world's best road trips, in sharp ...
