Oligarchy vs Republic (Part 1 of 2)
Oligarchy vs Republic (Part 1 of 2)
Oligarchy is a form of government where political power effectively rests with a small elite segment of society distinguished by royalty, wealth, family, military powers or occult spiritual hegemony. The word oligarchy is from the Greek words for "few" (ὀλίγος olígos) and "rule" (ἀρχή arkhē). A republic is a state or country that is not led by a hereditary monarch, but in which the people (or at least a part of its people)[3] have an impact on its government (in the United States of America's terms "by the people, of the people, and for the people"). The word originates from the Latin term res publica, which literally translates as "public thing" or "public matter".

People's Republic of China / 中华人民共和国/ 中華人民共和國
The People's Republic of China (PRC), commonly known as China, is a country in East Asia. It is the most populous state in the world with over 1.3 billion people, about one in five humans. China is ruled by the Communist Party of China under a single-party system, and has jurisdiction over 22 provinces, five autonomous regions, four directly administered municipalities (Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, and Chongqing), and two highly autonomous special administrative regions (SARs) (Hong Kong and Macau). The PRC's capital is Beijing. The ancient Chinese civilization—one of the world's earliest—flourished in the fertile basin of the Yellow River which flows through the North China Plain. For more than 4000 years, China's political system was based on hereditary monarchies (also known as dynasties). The first of these dynasties was the Xia (approx 2000BC) but it was the later Qin Dynasty that first unified China in 221 BC. The last dynasty, the Qing, ended in 1911 with the founding of the Republic of China (ROC) by the Nationalist Kuomintang (KMT). The first half of the 20th century saw China plunged into a period of disunity and civil wars that divided the country into two main political camps the Kuomintang and the communists. Major hostilities ended in 1949, when the People's Republic of China was established in mainland China by the victorious communists. Tonga Introduction and Overview: history, economics, agriculture, culture
From the www.VideoSource.com Global Village Travel Guide and DVD, "Islands of the South Pacific". Stock footage available from http Transcript: Around 1000 BC, when the Fijian islands could no longer support their growing populations the people looked eastward to what is today the Kingdom of Tonga. The limestone islands they found weren't as diverse, nor as fertile as the volcanic ones they'd left, so they brought with them the domesticated animals and the food plants they would need. The Kingdom of Tonga is comprised of a number of island groups. The two most important are the Tongatapu group in the south and the Vava'u group in the north. Between them lies the Ha'apai group. There are 170 islands in all, of which 40 are inhabited. The southern group is dominated by the island of Tongatapu which means "sacred Tonga" and is home to the king. The earliest inhabitants of these island established a hereditary monarchy. Over the years, the kingdom splintered and royal bloodlines multiplied, until, In 1845, the reins of power were once again gathered in the hands of one. In 1875, King George Tupou the 1st approved a constitution, and since that time, the country has had a constitutional monarchy. The pace of life is slow and easy in Nukalofa, the capital and only large town in all of Tonga. The streets and the market place reflect the quality of life of the Tongan people. Fresh, healthy food, a diet based on fish and a low stress level that results from close family ties, have ...

Coronation of Napoleon I and Empress Josephine (1804) HQ
Taken from the TV miniseries "Napoleon" (2002), courtesy of A&E Television Networks. Napoleon Bonaparte faced royalist and Jacobin plots as France's ruler, including the Conspiration des poignards (Dagger plot) in October 1800 and the Plot of the Rue Saint-Nicaise (also known as the infernal machine) two months later. In January 1804, his police uncovered an assassination plot against him which involved Moreau and which was ostensibly sponsored by the Bourbon former rulers of France. On the advice of Talleyrand, Napoleon ordered the kidnapping of Louis Antoine, Duke of Enghien, in violation of neighbouring Baden's sovereignty. After a secret trial the Duke was executed, even though he had not been involved in the plot. Napoleon used the plot to justify the re-creation of a hereditary monarchy in France, with himself as emperor, as a Bourbon restoration would be more difficult if the Bonapartist succession was entrenched in the constitution. Napoleon crowned himself Emperor Napoleon I on 2 December 1804 at Notre Dame de Paris and then crowned Joséphine Empress. The story that he seized the crown out of the hands of Pope Pius VII during the ceremony to avoid his subjugation to the authority of the pontiff is apocryphal; the coronation procedure had been agreed in advance.

Japan's Emperor Akihito to Undergo Heart Surgery
Japan's Emperor Akihito to Undergo Heart Surgery
BY KEVIN DUBOUIS ANCHOR MEGAN MURPHY Japanese Emperor Akihito is set to set to undergo heart surgery at the University of Tokyo Hospital on Saturday. Japanese public broadcaster NHK has details on Akihito's situation. "The Emperor will undergo a pre-surgery examination later on Friday. Doctors say if everything goes according to plan, he will be able to leave hospital in about two weeks." Chinese website CRI English says the 78-year-old monarch has already had various health issues and was on medication after experiencing arterial problems last year. "Akihito ... underwent treatment for prostate cancer in 2003. He was hospitalized for more than two weeks for bronchial pneumonia last November." Akihito has been Japan's revered figurehead for more than 23 years. Los Angeles Times reports, even as Japanese media has grown more caviler in their reporting of imperfections in the monarchy, the nation has shown nothing but respect for the aging emperor. "Although Japan's modern-day tabloids sometimes strike a gossipy tone when talking about members of the current royal family -- aggressively dissecting Empress Michiko's stress-related ailments, or the failure of her daughter-in-law, Crown Princess Masako, to produce a male heir -- there is rarely, if ever, a disrespectful word uttered of Akihito." During the Emperor's recovery, Crown Prince Naruhito will carry out his father's duties. He is next in the line to the throne right before his brother, Prince Akishino, and his 5-year ...

Why Do 80% of Brits not care about the royal wedding? BECAUSE THEY ARE GERMAN EUGENICIST PARASITES
The UK taxpayers rather than the royal family will actually pay for the lavish USD 48 million ceremony in London. This is while Britons already pay some GBP 40 million a year to maintain the British royal family. April 29 has been declared a national holiday to mark Prince William's marriage to Kate Middleton in London's Westminster Abbey. The one-day holiday is also estimated to cost Britain about USD 10 billion. To compound the situation, the upcoming royal extravaganza comes at a time of worsening economic conditions in Britain, which is struggling with a massive budget shortfall. The British government is taking austerity measures in an attempt to contain the country's huge budget deficit. The eye-watering measures have already sparked violent protests nationwide. This is while more than 2.5 million Britons are also unemployed. Analysts say Prince William's wedding is reminiscent of the Queen's marriage to Prince Philip in 1947, which came against the backdrop of food rationing and post-World War II weariness. Some observers believe the British government is using the upcoming Royal Wedding to distract the Britons from their economic woes. Meanwhile, a recent poll shows Britons are far less excited about the Royal Wedding than the extensive flattery of media coverage suggests. The poll carried out by the campaign group Republic has shown that almost 80 percent of the Britons simply do not care about the so-called big day. Monarchs of Poland
Monarchs of Poland
Poland has a long and colorful royal history. Since the 9th Century Poland was ruled by dukes, high dukes and kings at various times. Sometimes hereditary the Polish monarchy was more often elective, the throne often passing back and forth between competing forces. From 1386 to 1572 the Jagiellon dynasty provided the Kings of Poland and Grand Dukes of Lithuania. After that the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth came into being and was, for a time, a major force in central Europe at one point even threatening to dominate Russia. In 1795 it all ended with the partition of Poland between Prussia, Austria and Russia. During World War I the Germans and Austrians set up a Kingdom of Poland under a regency but after their defeat a new republican Poland was established.

The City Council is spitting in the face of the voters of Baltimore if they select the son of a councilperson just because of hereditary reasons.
