June 2011
Susan has returned to the studio and is preparing new work for release in the fall of 2011. There are summer dates in the northwest in July and in Ireland in August - take a look at the 'Live' page for updates - with a US tour in November-December.

May 2011
Lorin Sklamberg and I recently wrapped up our Saints & Tzadiks spring tour of the US and Europe. We were thrilled to be part of Imagine Ireland- an innovative arts festival running throughout the US as part of a year-long initiative of Culture Ireland. We performed with Eamon O'Leary in Houston, with Aidan Brennan in Germany, Denmark, Austria, Paris, California, and we were joined by Erik Della Penna for our closing New York performance on May 22 at Barbes. We added some new songs and instrumentals to our repertoire for this tour and have begun recording a new Saints & Tzadiks album...

October 2010
October saw the release of 'A Woman Like That (Her Kind)', the single from Singing in the Dark, and now the album launch is a few days away at Symphony Space on October 30 in an event with Kay Jamison, Paul Holdengräber and an eleven piece band that includes Shahzad Ismaily (Bonnie 'Prince' Billy, Tom Waits) - bass drums, Allison Miller (Natalie Merchant, Brandi Carlile) - drums, Doug Wieselman (Antony, Martha Wainwright) - guitars, Lorin Sklamberg (The Klezmatics) - accordion, Lindsey Horner - bass, Ryan McGiver - guitar, Isabelle O'Connell - piano, Eamon O'Leary - guitar, Sonelius Smith - piano, Jason Sypher - bass.

Tracks from the album are now up on Susan's myspace page and you can listen here.

Press is starting to come out for the album. The first article came out today and you can read it here.

Susan was on NPR's Weekend Edition with Scott Simon on October 23 talking about the new album 'Songs from the East Village' that she produced for the East Village Community School. You can listen to that interview and hear tracks from that album here.

September 2010
This is a busy month with the release of 'Songs from the East Village', West Coast tour dates and the launch of Susan's Kickstarter project to raise finishing funds for 'Singing in the Dark'. More about that here.

MYSPACE Susan has recently taken a page at myspace which you can check out at www.myspace.com/susanmckeown and hear some music and occasional thoughts...

VANAVER BENEFIT On May 21st Susan joined Natalie Merchant, The Klezmatics & Pete Seeger onstage for a special fundraiser for Bill Vanaver. $55,000 was raised for the folk musician and dancer, who had suffered a heart attack earlier this year. Despite being insured the cost of the surgery and recovery was so high that this event had to be set up to raise the extra money. Thanks for all who were there and made it possible!
