Brian Haas (born March 18, 1974) is an American jazz pianist, composer, band leader, and producer best known as the founding member and leader of the band Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey.
Brian Haas spent his formative years in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma - a suburb of Tulsa. He began studying classical piano at age 5 and quickly gained attention at the local and regional levels for winning piano competitions at a young age. At age 16, Brian won the Oklahoma Concerto Competition and performed with the Tulsa Philharmonic nine times in the Tulsa metro area. After graduating Broken Arrow High School with honors, Brian was awarded a full tuition music scholarship at The University of Tulsa. In a 2008 interview from the TU Alumni Magazine Haas said "It was hard not to notice how much fun the guys in the jazz program were having. They were always hanging and jamming together, and there was a very communal vibe to it. I was immediately attracted to it." While attending TU, he began playing with the school’s many jazz ensembles and discovered that jazz seemed to come more naturally than the classical music he had been playing his whole life.
Matthew Joseph Chamberlain (born April 17, 1967) is an American drummer, producer, and sound engineer. He is currently based in Los Angeles, California.
Born and raised in San Pedro, California and growing up air drumming and using pots and pans as makeshift drums, Matt Chamberlain began playing drums at the age of ten. He was influenced by the local San Pedro music scene and by getting in to all ages shows at the Dancing Waters Club (Minutemen, Black Flag, Firehose) and by listening to the drumming of John Bonham, Ringo Starr, Stewart Copeland, Neil Peart, and Terry Bozzio. Chamberlain received his first set of drums at the age of fifteen, and studied with David Garibaldi, Murray Spivack, Chuck Flores, and Gregg Bissonette. Three years later, he was awarded a scholarship to study at North Texas State University where he studied with Henry Okstel. Chamberlain quit college and started playing professionally in the Dallas, Texas Deep Ellum scene in the mid-1980s.
Brian (sometimes spelled Bryan) is a male given name of Irish and Breton origin, as well as a surname of Occitan origin. It is common in the English-speaking world. It is possible that the name is derived from an Old Celtic word meaning "high" or "noble". For example, the element bre means "hill"; which could be transferred to mean "eminence" or "exalted one". The name is quite popular in Ireland, on account of Brian Boru, a 10th-century king of Ireland. The name was also quite popular in East Anglia during the Middle Ages. This is because the name was introduced to England by Bretons following the Norman Conquest. Bretons also settled in Ireland along with the Normans in the 12th century, and 'their' name was mingled with the 'Irish' version. Also, in the north-west of England, the 'Irish' name was introduced by Scandinavian settlers from Ireland. Within the Gaelic speaking areas of Scotland, the name was at first only used by professional families of Irish origin. It was the fourth most popular male name in England and Wales in 1934, but a sharp decline followed over the remainder of the 20th century and by 1994 it had fallen out of the top 100. It retained its popularity in the United States for longer; its most popular period there was from 1968–1979 when it consistently ranked between eighth and tenth.
Haas, also de Haas, is a German and Dutch surname, usually from Hase or de Haas, the German and Dutch words for "hare". Notable people with the surname include the following:
The Royal is a British medical drama series produced by ITV that ran from 2003 to 2011. The show comprised one-hour episodes which were normally first aired on ITV in the Sunday early evening slot.
The title of the series refers to the fictional "St Aidan's Royal Free Hospital", located in Elsinby, a fictional rural seaside town, portrayed as being close to Aidensfield, the fictional setting of the UK TV series Heartbeat. The series was shot in Whitby and Scarborough, in the North Riding of Yorkshire. The Royal is an NHS hospital serving the local town, countryside and visitors. The show was set in the 1960s. It began as a spin-off from another popular ITV show set in North Yorkshire, Heartbeat.
Stars of the show included Ian Carmichael, Wendy Craig, Robert Daws, and Amy Robbins. The last episode of the show aired at 7.00 pm on Sunday, 31 July 2011 on ITV.
The Royal was introduced in the 14th episode of the 12th series of Heartbeat entitled 'Out Of The Blue' and The Royal benefited from this connection to the extremely popular parent series; several Heartbeat characters appeared in the first couple of series of The Royal, most notably Bill Maynard as a bed-ridden Claude Greengrass, but as the series progressed it generally dropped its character crossovers with Heartbeat to become its own entity.

Speaker: Brian Haas Title: Leveraging a Cray Supercomputer for Parallel De novo Transcriptome assembly using Trinity Abstract: The Trinity RNA-Seq de novo assembly software has become a popular application for reconstructing transcriptomes from RNA-Seq in the realms of diverse model and non-model organisms. Trinity involves several software modules (Inchworm, Chrysalis, and Butterfly) that operate in sequence, with varying computational requirements and capacity for parallel computing, and typically require the use of high performance computing systems. I've conducted something in the range of AN INFINITY of interviews (mild exaggeration) through the years - and someone recently encouraged me to start posting some of my favorite content. To that end, here goes! I've had the privilege of spending several days with Dr. Brian Haas at Boutique Eye Orlando - and I'll start pushing some of the interesting content into place here. Words you would use to describe or convey his understanding and abilities in his areas of care/expertise would at least include unbelievably gifted, amazing results, deeply grateful patients, excellence in care, creative problem solver, astonishing skill. People travel to him from all over to obtain his direct personal attention and care --- you can peek at his web site at th...

Another night to say:
Things are about to change, is it forever?
Another game to play
When we hare a world together
Open your eyes and believe me
You gotta live and dream again
Still catching the sun as you're gliding
Uohoh!
Ev'ry night you take my heart
Into the stars and ev'rywhere
I dream to see you back
When I return but you're not there
Ev'ry night I feel you smile
And I can't stop be similing too
So tell me how, today
I'll find the way to be with you, every night
Pictures in black and white
Bridging you from the past into the future
I want you now to try
