Playing guitar and melodica at the same time (introducing the melogitar)
Playing guitar and melodica at the same time (introducing the melogitar)
This is me playing the "melogitar", an instrument i invented. It gives the musician the oportunity to play the guitar and the melodica at the same time. The instrument itself is just a melodica taped to an acoustic guitar. Additionaly i figured out a technique to strumm the strings of the guitar and to play the melodica at the same time with my right (strumming) hand. The song i play is mostly improvised stuff so please don't judge because of the little mistakes i made. I came up with the idea all by myself, and as far as i know it has never been done before, so i might be the first one to do that! (if so i think i got the copyright on this thing but i don't know/care much about this stuff just saying..) if you want to try it yourself go ahead! Do it! i would love a lot of people playing the "melogitar"! But if you get all famous and stuff with this thing (because its not that difficult to play the guitar or the melodica better than i do) please refer to me as the inventor of this thing ... So have fun watching the video (there are some others to follow) and/or trying it on your own! And tell me if you like it or not! Music, idea and everything else by Aljoscha Müller (exept the name "melogitar". My friend Black Foot came up with that name. Thanks man!)

Kids by MGMT (Ukulele/Melodica cover)
I uploaded this video and then I made a huge booboo and now here's the brand new version with significantly lesser mistakes (but try to ignore the long black pause at the end... or pretend that it has some deeper meaning besides Naj being way too lazy to edit it out *shrugs*) I really like MGMT though, I can't lie. Oh hey, by the way, another attack of the phantom backup group that sounds exactly like me.

Bach: Brandenburg Concerto 3 - 1 with 10 melodica tracks and live video for 9 parts
Bach: Brandenburg Concerto 3 - 1 with 10 melodica tracks and live video for 9 parts
With 10 solo parts divided into three trio groups and continuo, this semi-lengthy movement required the use of at least 9 individual video tracks in order to make it work. Because of the natural size restrictions that embedded video presents, I needed to make three sets of individual movies with 3 soloists each and then mix them together. This pushed the boundaries of my computer processor, software, hardware, and most of all my patience, but all in all it was a very rewarding piece to work on. The original parts are covered and positioned like this: Violin 1,2,3: Alto Melodica: Right to left, standing, orange shirt Viola 1,2,3: Alto Melodica: Right to left, standing, blue shirt Cello 1,2,3,: Bass Melodica: Left to right, sitting, blue shirt, haircut Continuo: Bass Melodica: Not shown Musical instruments by Suzuki Higher quality mp3: jnote.org Music by JS Bach. Hohner melodica + Orla KX10
Hohner melodica + Orla KX10
Please read the description below: This is a Finnish folksong, though the Swedes think it´s theirs.... but it is actually from Åland, and that belongs to Finland, my origin country,- it is called "vem kan segla förutan vind" and translated "who can sail without wind" (logic...;) I first recorded/played the tune into the Orla - i used the style "modern 3/4" - this is my rendition, with my own addition of the middle part, - and yes, i recently bought this melodica, and now my first tune, i have played flute earlier, but this is different, though the flute is harder. and, as said sorry for the bad sound/pic quality, depending on the old cam i have, it doesn´t like the high pitched sounds, like cymbals :( - next time i´ll play bagpipe, JUST KIDDING! First recorded/played it into the sequencer of the Orla. NO backingtracks used! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- about melodica: for many, considered as a toy instrument, and there are indeed cheap melodicas for children, but there are also pro models that cost up to 600-700 euros! the Hammond Melodion 44 HP, as one of the the top models, go and look in my favourites and you will find some nice melodica clips, "jazzman1945", Federico Pena, Tony Monaco - i must also mention the Mylodica, made by Sound Electra, "twin cities" in the states, it has a wooden casing.
