I especially like IDF soldiers. Not that I don't like our (US) military soldiers cuz I do but I like IDF, their eyes put me in a trance and stuff.

How did he aid terrorists? By aiding their propaganda efforts on the internet for one.

An American-born Muslim was sentenced Friday to 15 years in prison for participating in a North Carolina terrorism ring that federal agents said plotted attacks on the Quantico U.S. Marine Corps base and foreign targets.

Mohammad Omar Aly Hassan, 24, was convicted in October of providing material support to terrorists, but acquitted of a charge of conspiracy to carry out attacks overseas. Hassan used his Facebook account and Internet forums to post his own comments and videos by others encouraging Muslims to fight nonbelievers and Muslims who did not agree with their desire to establish mandatory religious law, prosecutors said..

Hassan also attempted to contact Anwar Al-Awlaki, a powerful American-born Muslim preacher and al-Qaida propagandist, and emailed a co-conspirator a copy of Al-Awlaki's tract "44 ways to support Jihad," Judge Louise Flanigan said. Al-Awlaki was killed in September in the mountains of Yemen by an American airstrike.

"You willingly became part of the Internet propaganda machine that is a canker on this world," Flanigan said. "You were prey, and a component, of something that was incredibly harmful and destructive."

I love it when newspapers write that the US claims that Hezbollah is a terrorist organization -- as if there were any doubts by any one but agenda driven leftists and Islamists:

Amid public warnings from the United States and Israel of a possible terror attack, Thai officials said Friday that they had arrested a Lebanese man believed to be a member of Hezbollah in connection with a plot to strike tourists in Bangkok.

The country’s defense minister, Gen. Yuthasak Sasiprapha, said the plot may have involved using a car bomb at tourist sites, synagogues and the Israeli Embassy. He said Israel intelligence agents first informed authorities in Thailand on Dec. 22 that two or three men were suspected of plotting an attack in Bangkok, the Thai capital.

On Sunday, the agents again warned of an attack, possibly set to occur the following weekend at a site popular with Western tourists, like Khao San Road, where many backpackers and other visitors congregate, General Yuthasak said in an interview with the Thai newspaper Naewna....

Earlier Friday, the American Embassy in Bangkok issued an emergency message on its Web site, warning of a possible attack by “foreign terrorists” against Americans in Thailand.

The video was roundly denounced in the U.S. and Afghanistan alike.

Karzai called it "completely inhumane." The Afghan Defense Ministry called it "shocking." And the Taliban issued a statement accusing U.S. forces of committing numerous "indignities" against the Afghan people.

"First they killed the Afghans with mortars, and they then urinated on their bodies," Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid said of what is shown in the video. "We strongly condemn this inhumane action by the wild American soldiers."

I think when people like Defense Secretary Leon Panetta publicly condemn our own Troops, accused of minor, distasteful offenses, and at the same time quietly distance themselves from condemning, for fear of offending someone, true atrocities being committed by our enemy, it really borders on treason.

No one has to condone the behavior of the Marines depicted in the video peeing on dead enemy combatants. But how about a little perspective?

Panetta needs to grow some balls. Tell the Taliban to f--k off until they start treating their captives a little more humanely. He should have told the Taliban, "Be grateful it wasn't pig piss, you crazy, little, goat-f--kers."

Maybe a little more tactful. But you get the picture.

The guy is an ex-Republican Congressman from Minnessotta and he was hired by an "Islamic charity" to lobby on their behalf. The problem was that this "charity" was really a terrorist funding scheme, the guy's who hired him were foreigners, and he worked on their behalf illegally. He plead guilty back in 2010, but he's only now being sentenced:

A former Michigan congressman and U.S. delegate to the United Nations has been sentenced to a year and one day in prison for lobbying for a Missouri-based Islamic charity that had been identified as a global terrorist organization.

Mark Deli Siljander, 60, a Republican who served in Congress from 1981-1987, pleaded guilty in July 2010 to obstructing justice and acting as an unregistered foreign agent in connection with his work for the Islamic American Relief Agency, based in Columbia, Mo.....

Four co-defendants also were sentenced Wednesday. Among them were former IARA executive director Mubarak Hamed, who sent more than $1 million to Iraq through the charity in violation of U.S. sanctions. He pleaded guilty in June 2010 to illegally transferring the money and obstructing the administration of laws governing tax-exempt charities....

The original indictment alleged the charity sent about $130,000 to help Gulbuddin Hekmatyar [an al Qaeda linked Islamist], whom the United States has designated as a global terrorist. The money, sent to bank accounts in Peshawar, Pakistan, in 2003 and 2004, was masked as donations to an orphanage located in buildings that Hekmatyar owned....

Abdel Azim El-Siddig, of Chicago, Ill., a former fundraiser for the charity, was sentenced to two years of probation for conspiring to hire Siljander to lobby for the charity's removal from the list of those suspected of having terrorist ties, while concealing this advocacy and not registering with the proper authorities.

Ali Mohamed Bagegni, a native of Libya who is a naturalized U.S. citizen and former resident of Columbia, was sentenced to six months of probation for his role in the conspiracy. Bagegni was a member of the board of directors of IARA.

Ahmad Mustafa of Columbia, a citizen of Iraq and a lawful permanent resident alien of the United States, also was sentenced to six months of probation for illegally transferring funds in violation of federal sanctions.

I know Obama gets a lot of flack for his dealings with Iran. Most of these criticisms are warranted. But the newest round of sanctions? Good work and they seem to be having an effect:

Somalia's al Qaeda linked terror group claims to have taken hostages. But that may not be the worst part. The worst part may be that they crossed an international border to do it.

Shabaab is not a local problem involved in a purely local civil war:

An al-Qaida affiliated Somali militant group said Thursday that it took several hostages in a raid in northern Kenya that killed at least six people.

Three policemen, a civil servant and a primary school teacher were among the six killed in the attack late Wednesday, said North Eastern Province Police Commissioner James ole Seriani. A pregnant woman was also killed, said relative Adan Gedi.Seriani said at least four government officials are missing, including a district officer.

The press release from the Somali militant group al-Shabab did not specify how many hostages had been taken from the northern town of Gerille, near the Somali border, but said their identities would soon be released."

Man charged with cruelty to a child after abandoning baby in #OccupyDC tent:

A man is facing child cruelty charges after his 13-month-old daughter was found alone in a tent in the Occupy DC camp at McPherson Square.

Occupy members told authorities that a baby was alone in a tent at about 10 a.m. Wednesday, said Sgt. David Schlosser, a U.S. Park Police spokesman. Officers found the girl alone in the tent with no adults around. The baby had been alone for at least half an hour, Schlosser said.

I'm really not that surprised by this news. The #Occutards have made it clear this collective, socialist, anti-America protest is more important than safety, family, common decency or civility.

One tiny child is inconsequential to their cause.

This is purportedly video of Marines urinating on dead Taliban.

Not seeing the problem here. It's not like the Taliban are alive and getting their heads sawn off with a dull knife.

With an attitude like that, you're not going to have any Marines in your Corps.

Through policies of tolerance and multiculturalism and fear of charges of racism, it appears that British liberalism has allowed a subculture of Muslim child rapists to develop.

I'm guessing the FBI and CIA already knew that the mystery man known as Abdullah al Amriki who had appeared in several al Shabaab videos with American Omar Hammami was really Cabdulaahi Ahmed Faarax, one of the missing Somali Americans suspected of going to Somalia to fight for the al Qaeda affiliate. But The Long War journal has finally put the name with the face for public consumption.

That's one missing American positively ID'd as belonging to Shabaab. Only 49 more to go!

This story shows why talking about a "Muslim community" makes no sense: there is no "Muslim community", just as there is no "Christian community".

There are Muslim communities -- plural.

And it is within many of these Muslim communities that we find our first line of defense against domestic Islamist terrorists. Sami Osmakac was reported to the FBI by Muslims after he had been banned from two Tampa area mosques.

And one of those mosques seems to be affiliated with the Islamic Society of North America, where some of his extremist views about sharia would be welcomed. If the ISNA thinks you are an extremist, you are an extremist:

Osmakac was known in Tampa Bay's Muslim community for his extremist views and rhetoric. He had been banned by two area mosques...

In a Muslim community that is often wary of FBI tactics in terrorism cases, some viewed Osmakac with suspicion as he promoted his extremist views, said Ahmed Bedier, founder of United Voices for America, a nonprofit group promoting Muslim participation in the political process.

Bedier said Osmakac had threatened him several times and had called him a "kafir," an Arabic word for infidel. Bedier said he previously had reported Osmakac and several of his companions to police and the FBI.

"He hated democracy," Bedier said. "In his perverted thinking, he thought by Muslims taking part in the democratic process, they were giving up their faith."

In November 2010, Osmakac was asked to leave the Islamic Society of Pinellas County, a mosque in Pinellas Park. Pinellas Park police issued a trespass warning to him and two others.

Mosque leaders discovered that Osmakac had made an inflammatory YouTube video on mosque property. Police also said the men had been intimidating other members of the mosque.

"We told them they have no right to use the facility," said Dr. Ahmad Batrawy, one of the mosque's founders. "They tried to insult us. So we called the police. . . . I know they have been moving to other mosques and most of the time, they tell them, 'You're not welcome.' ''

Except for CAIR. Even though various Muslims had this guy pegged as trouble, and reported him to the FBI as someone to watch, CAIR can't drop the paranoia and wonder if he hasn't been set up by the man:

Leaders in the local Muslim community urge caution, saying it is important for the courts to determine if Osmakac posed a real threat or was just a big talker entrapped by the FBI.

"Would there have been any real plot without the support and assistance of the FBI?" asked Hassan Shibly, executive director of the Tampa chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, or CAIR, who had been briefed by authorities before the arrest was announced.

Apparently, the FBI and the local media, that's who!

Most of the others in the local Muslim community thought the guy was nuts and potentially a terrorist.

But not CAIR. To CAIR, any Muslim who doesn't actually detonate a bomb is an innocent victim of Islamophobic entrapment.

And I was under the impression that the FBI had broken off all ties with CAIR? But the local FBI office told CAIR about the Osmakac operation before he was arrested?

And yet CAIR has the audacity to question the FBI's motives in the case?

Note to feds: it doesn't matter how much you talk to CAIR, these people are essentially conspiracy theorists who believe you are all out to get Muslims. Talking to them will not get you the "buy in" you are looking for. You cannot co-opt them. They are there to hinder you, not help you.

If you must look for partners within Muslim communities, don't look to CAIR! A) They don't represent all Muslims, just a minority of them; B) The organization itself was founded as part of an effort to support terror organizations!

And just how connected was Osmakac to foreign radicals?

The man accused by U.S. authorities of plotting to bomb Florida nightclubs and a sheriff's office met with radical Islamists during visits to his native Kosovo, a senior official in the country said Wednesday.

International agencies had alerted Kosovo authorities that Sami Osmakac could be linked to Islamist extremists, the official told The Associated Press. He said the 25-year-old, an ethnic Albanian and naturalized U.S. citizen, discussed "issues in support of radical elements" with the individuals he met.

Al-Shabaab, Somalia's al-Qaeda-linked militant group, has repeatedly promised to attack Kenya in retaliation for Kenyan forces moving into southern Somalia in October. The group's spokesperson threatened to bring Nairobi's skyscrapers down, and though an attack of that magnitude appears unlikely, intelligence officials fear some attack is imminent.

One Western diplomat said recent intelligence reports show that Al-Shabaab is trying to obtain security guard uniforms they can wear while carrying out an attack, a common tactic used by militants in Afghanistan. The diplomat spoke on condition he was not identified discussing sensitive intelligence matters.

One analyst said he is surprised large-scale attacks haven't happened already.

The leader of Nigeria's Boko Haram Islamist militants has defended recent attacks on Christians, saying they are revenge for killings of Muslims.

In his first video message, posted on YouTube, Abubakar Shekau referred to attacks on Muslims in recent years in several parts of northern Nigeria.

Boko Haram militants attacked several churches on Christmas Day, killing dozens of worshippers.

This has led to some reprisals against mosques in the mainly Christian south.

Blogging about terrorism is getting to me. Recently the Taliban beheaded 15 Pakistani police and then yesterday a car bomb in Pakistan killed 35 and I hardly even noticed.

A nuclear scientist was killed in a blast in a Tehran neighborhood Wednesday morning, an Iranian news agency reported, the latest in a string of attacks against such scientists that Iran has blamed on Israel.

A motorcyclist placed a magnetic bomb under Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan's Peugeot 405, the state-run IRNA news agency said.

The blast wounded two others who were passengers in the car, IRNA said.

It seems that Sharia calls for the Death Penalty for homosexuals, uh yeah, so several of the gang from Sharia4UK went around passing out leaflets pointing that out.

Five Muslim men have gone on trial in the United Kingdom for allegedly handing out leaflets calling for homosexuals to face the death penalty, according to the Guardian.

Razwan Javed, 28, Kabir Ahmed, 28, Ihjaz Ali, 42, Umer Javed, 38, and Mehboob Hussain, 44, were arrested after members of the public complained about their activities.

The men are accused of stirring up hatred due to sexual orientation in the first prosecution of its kind. Laws covering hate crimes were amended in 2010 to include homophobia.

The leaflets were entitled “The Death Penalty?” and said gay people should be given the death penalty because gay sex is a great sin. The leaflets showed an image of a mannequin hanging from a noose. They were produced ahead of a Gay Pride parade in Derby and handed out near a mosque in the city.

"The leaflets you will see are not educational or simply informative. They are, we suggest, threatening, offensive, frightening and nasty,” said Bobbie Cheema, opening the case for the prosecution.

The following video is of Iran where hanging Gays is a national past time. The accused above are most likely Sunnis. Its nice to see that the two branches of Islam can indeed come together over common interests.

We have not seen a drone strike in 55 days after the border fight....well we just had one

Unmanned US attack aircraft struck in Pakistan's Taliban-controlled tribal agency of North Waziristan today, ending a nearly two-month-long pause in strikes that have targeted al Qaeda and Taliban leaders and fighters.

The Predator or Reaper drones launched a pair of missiles at a compound on the outskirts of Miramshah, the main town in the terrorist haven of North Waziristan, according to Geo News. Four "militants" were killed and the compound was set ablaze.

The identities of those killed have not been disclosed. The Haqqani Network, a Taliban group that operates in North Waziristan as well as in eastern Afghanistan, administers the area where today's strike took place. Al Qaeda leaders and operatives also shelter in the area.

US officials told The Long War Journal on Dec. 12, 2011 that the program was put "on hold" due to tensions over the Mohmand incident, but that the drones would strike again if a high value terrorist target that could not be ignored was spotted.
