George Harrison - Bangladesh
George Harrison performing "Bangladesh" during the concert for Bangladesh at 1971, Madison Square Garden. MAGIC! My friend came to me, with sadness in his eyes He told me that he wanted help Before his country dies Although I couldn't feel the pain, I knew I had to try Now I'm asking all of you To help us save some lives Bangla Desh, Bangla Desh Where so many people are dying fast And it sure looks like a mess I've never seen such distress Now won't you lend your hand and understand Relieve the people of Bangla Desh Bangla Desh, Bangla Desh Such a great disaster - I don't understand But it sure looks like a mess I've never known such distress Now please don't turn away, I want to hear you say Relieve the people of Bangla Desh Relieve Bangla Desh Bangla Desh, Bangla Desh Now it may seem so far from where we all are It's something we can't neglect It's something I can't neglect Now won't you give some bread to get the starving fed We've got to relieve Bangla Desh Relieve the people of Bangla Desh We've got to relieve Bangla Desh Relieve the people of Bangla Desh

NE-YO FT. BANGLADESH "A MILLI" REMIX (OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO)
Mr. Shondrae Bangladesh whom "single handedly saved hip hop", according to hip hop heavy weight Busta Rhymes. Bangladesh's risky 'roof riders'
Bangladesh's risky 'roof riders'
Trains providing public transportation in Bangladesh are usually filled beyond capacity. So many people - mostly adolescents - who for one reason or another can not get a hold of a ticket, often illegally resort to the roof to get a ride. But the 'roof riding' practice, which dates back to 1947, has become one of the leading causes of child deaths in the country because it often leads to accidents. And as people visit their families for the Islamic holiday of Eid, the trains are even more overcrowded than usual. Nicolas Haque reports from Dhaka, Bangladesh's capital. [August 31, 2010]

Bangladesh's traffic menace
Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh, has one of the highest rates of traffic accidents in the world. Its roads are dominated by thousands of old and dangerous vehicles, which police are now trying to get rid of. Among the old vehicles are dilapidated public buses, that many Bangladeshis say are the cheapest way to get around. Al Jazeera's Nicolas Haque reports.

Sisters on the Planet - Sahena (Bangladesh)
www.oxfam.org.uk The annual monsoon rains in Bangladesh are getting heavier and more unpredictable -- last year's floods were the worst in decades, affecting nine million people -- but few people can have encountered a force of nature quite like Sahena Begum. Fiercely determined, she is spearheading community efforts to deal with changing weather in Kunderpara village. To watch more short films about women who have taken the fight against climate change into their own hands, visit www.oxfam.org.uk Extract: As obvious as it sounds, climate change affects everybody. But climate change is already having a disproportionate impact on people in developing countries, and its hitting women hardest. Its not the easiest idea to understand, so to help explain weve made these short films about women, in both rich and poor countries, who are determined to do whatever they can to put a stop to climate change. Watch them and become aware of the impact our changing climate is having on peoples lives. And be inspired to join the fight against climate change too.
